Los Angeles was such a PERFECT way to end what was a fantastic year of Glam Nation. I went to both shows -- the show at The Music Box on the 15th and the final show at Club Nokia on the 16th -- with [livejournal.com profile] llandaffaz, [livejournal.com profile] coolwhipdiva, [livejournal.com profile] _lisalisa_ and @morgaine99, and [livejournal.com profile] editorzon joined us for the final show at Club Nokia. Both shows were just so much damn fun! They were completely stress free; no standing in line for hours, no stressing over seats or getting a close spot on the floor or meet and greets. We hung out and laughed and drank and sang along and danced and just had a fucking good time!

I'm not going to recap them both, mostly because a good part of my flist was actually there with me, but also because there are recaps all over the damn place. But I did want to post some of the vids and photos here, mostly for my own reference.

Glam Nation L.A. part 1, The Music Box, 12/15/10 )

Glam Nation L.A., part 2, The Final Show, Club Nokia, 12/16/10 )

I have had such an amazing time this year going to Glam Nation shows all across the country, spending time with some of my dearest friends, and meeting all kinds of fabulous people! It's been crazy and wonderful, mind blowing and life changing. And this was just a perfect end to what has been one hell of a ride. I'm going to cherish every memory and I can't wait to see what this boy comes up with next!
I finally conquered my humongous To Do list! I'm all packed and ready to head out at too damn early in the morning for L.A. Yay!!!

I am SO looking forward to a long weekend with my best girlfriends, rockin' the last two shows of Adam Lambert's Glam Nation tour, seeing Darren Criss (twice!), Monte Pittman's solo show, showing [livejournal.com profile] llandaffaz and Vivian around L.A. and doing all the touristy things that I never do anymore, spending some long overdue quality time with [livejournal.com profile] editorzon, [livejournal.com profile] azewewish, [livejournal.com profile] _lisalisa_, [livejournal.com profile] coolwhipdiva and [livejournal.com profile] sabrinagb, fitting in some holiday festivities, and all the other assorted shenanigans that are sure to ensue! I'm expecting lots of alcohol to be consumed, plenty of glitter thrown in the air, lots of great music to dance to, great conversations and abundant laughter. Good times shall be had! See y'all on the flip side! :D

(Oh, and thanks for any of those good thoughts sent my way today. The good juju definitely helped and all ended well! Hopefully that will be the last time I'll have to deal with the jackass ex-boss.)
OMG it's only Monday and this week is already completely CRAZYCAKES!!! Thankfully, it's mostly the good kinda crazycakes. (Although, if y'all can send some positive thoughts my way tomorrow around noon, I'd appreciate it. I'm having to deal with the ex-boss continuing to be an unmitigated jackass, so, you know, good juju would come in handy.)

Anyway, GOOD CRAZINESS!!! Let's talk about that some more! I've got a to do list that's about a mile long, and it all needs to be done in the next two days! Ahhhh!!! But just as soon as all those important items like "paint nails," "color hair," "buy lots of alcohol and chocolate snacks," and "OMG PACK FOR L.A." get crossed off my list, then it means that I'm finally on my way to L.A. for what is sure to be an AMAZING long weekend of DAMN GOOD TIMES!!! Eeeee!!! ADAM FUCKING LAMBERT!!!!! And DARREN CRISS!!!! And MONTE PITTMAN!!!!!!! And some of my most favorite people on the planet!!!!!! And glitter! And drinking! And doing fun L.A. touristy things! And laughing and talking and just having fabulously good times!!! Man, I cannot adequately state how much I need this trip right now. My mental health has been a tenuous thing lately, and I'm totally counting on just getting away, not stressing for a few days, and just having a damn good time in order to regain my grasp on my zen.

Like I said, SO MANY GOOD THINGS THIS WEEK! Like Adam! Who manages to wear the fuck out of a completely ridiculous pair of sparkly, zebra-striped pants. )

Also, I may not have mentioned this, oh, in the past 24 hours or so, but I'm completely smitten with one Darren Criss!!! *heart eyes* And I get to see him play this weekend! Twice! I may just die of the concentrated adorableness!!!

No, really, it may be too much presh for me to handle! )

So, since we're talking about faces that make me happy, I think it's been well established that Chris Colfer is all that is precious and adorable in this world and his face does, indeed, make me happy. BUT WAT IS THIS CRAZINESS??? )

There's also this picture of a nearly pantsless Tommy that Isaac tweeted this morning, but I just don't have words to talk about this right now. *g* Feel free to discuss amongst yourselves, though.

I've been reading tons of Kurt/Blaine fic. Like most new fandoms/pairings, there is quite a bit of dreck being posted. Thankfully, y'all have ME to wade through it all and bring you the good stuff! *beams*

Kurt/Blain fic recs )

Darren Criss sings Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas! (Awesome Holiday Song of the Day) )

Ok, now that we have so many good things to roll around in, I'm going to go wade through my insane To Do list, and flail a bit more about L.A. IN TWO DAYS!!!!!! *bounces*
The European leg of the Glam Nation tour has been an abundance of fabulosity, as previously documented here and here. And we all thought, surely there's no way to top this short of someone getting naked on stage! But then, while, sadly everyone has remained clothed, there was Amsterdam. And the bar for fabulosity was again moved higher. And by higher, I mean, quite literally, higher. *g*

But first, to give these images the proper loltastic context, Adam's Amsterdam show was in a venue that looked suspiciously like a re-purposed church. And, let me just say, this is totes my kinda religion!

Photobucket

And then, well, really, they were in Amsterdam after all...

Purple haze, motherfuckers! )

Seriously, is it any wonder I love this crazy son of a bitch so damn much? *g*
The random Jimmy Hendrix lyric in the title is courtesy of ADAM LAMBERT COVERING "PURPLE HAZE" IN HIS PARIS SHOW TONIGHT!!!!!!!! Yes, that news was totes caps worthy. *g* Oh, and, of course, he sang "scuse while I kiss this guy" instead. Haha! I love his crazy-ass self so damn much! I'm sure there will be vids shortly, so, you know, if you're as ridiculously excited as I am about Adam covering "Purple Haze" (and about Monte shredding like a mofo playing Hendrix), then check back here later for the video links.

Other random awesomeness for the day includes the following:

1. I had a great workout with my trainer this morning. It was freakin' ass-early in the morning, but it had been way toooo long since I'd worked out hard, and I gotta say, it felt damn good! Here's to being fierce and strong and healthy again!!! *fist pumps*

2. I started a Tumblr blog yesterday. Obviously I have too much time on my hands. *laughs* But I really don't know what to do with it or who to follow. So, audience participation time again! Two things. First, follow me! *bats eyelashes* And, second, link me to your favorite tumblrs! Ready? GO! :D

3. Have you heard the soundtrack for Burlesque yet? I loved it! Cher and Christina both sound AMAZING!!! Tracks 7 and 8 are particularly fabulous!

4. Have I mentioned lately how much I freakin' love Hawaii Five-O? Seriously, it's like candy! Without the calories! Sweeeeet! And this promo for the show is all kinds of FABULOUS!!!

But, they're right. It's not a bromance. Steve and Danny are LIFE PARTNERS!!! <333

5. I don't really have a 5, but I'm reserving this spot for the "Purple Haze" vids. Somewhere in France I'm sure there are dedicated fangirls berating their slow internet connections as they furiously work to upload their video treasures. And gods bless 'em.

ETA: Purple Haze vids have hit the web!!! EXCUSE ME WHILE I KISS THAT GUY!!!!! )

Don't forgot though, peeps, I need your Tumblr love and wisdom! *chin hands*
So, the other day I posted this picspam of fabulosity from the Glam Nation shows in Europe. And I thought that we had reached the pinnacle of mind-blowingly hot stage antics with the masturbatory and fingering gesturing, but then today Adam takes the stage in Stuttgart, Germany, and THIS happens:

Photobucket

JFC on a cracker!!!

More sexy shenanigans in Germany! )
There have been some truly fantastic pictures and gifs lately of Adam, the shows, and the Glam Troupe as they leave a trail of glitter throughout Europe. So I thought I'd share them with y'all and that way I can finally close all the tabs I currently have open. Win/win!

fall into the glitter )
So, today kinda sucked. Even more so than your average Monday suckage.

First, just about everyone in this house is sick, including me. Rhyan has strep throat. Rianna is in the hospital for the second night in a row with a chest/head cold type thing that sent her asthma into overdrive. They still can't get her breathing right, so she's in for another night. Whatever germy crud initially got to the girls has now attached itself to me too. So much DNW.

Second, I got word that a job I interviewed for a few weeks back, one I was genuinely excited about and for which I thought the interview had gone really well, is not going to be mine. And, that news just really drove home how much this whole unemployed/job search thing really just blows. I'm so sick and tired of not working; I feel as if my mind is literally turning mushier every day; financially things are getting trickier to juggle. The whole thing just sucks big hairy monkey balls.

But, despite the general suckage of this day, there were some really awesome things that, in the end, totally redeemed the last 24 hours for me.

First, Adam announced a second L.A. show!!! He'll be playing the Music Box at the Henry Fonda Theater on Wednesday, December 15th. This is awesome for several reasons. The obvious one: MOAR ADAM!!! But an Adam show on this date at this venue is also a pretty cool full circle moment, as he performed there exactly 6 years ago, on December 15, 2004, in the Zodiac show where he sang an amazing version of A Change is Gonna Come. (YouTube vid of that performance for the uninitiated.) Mostly, though, this is awesome because it means a second show glamming and rocking out with my girls!!! *clings*

Second bit of awesomeness: Jerrod Niemann is doing a show in Mesa next month!!! It's been way too damn long since I've seen that boy do his thing. Jerrod's shows are always damn good times! *g* And I'm definitely needing some damn good times right about now! Any AZ peeps up for some country music, a hot dude with a guitar, lots of tequila shots, damn good times or any/all of the above, mark November 21st on your calendar and let me know!

Third awesome thing: Cheeks posted what is probably my favorite It Gets Better video! )

The most awesome thing about today, though, was a serendipitously timely and completely lovely telephone chat with [livejournal.com profile] editorzon! Man, a little perspective, some good advice, an understanding ear and the space to not have to hold it together from a good friend is just the thing to make yummy lemondaide from an otherwise lemon of a day! Thank you, baby! *mwah*

So, yeah, I'm still feeling like roadkill and I still don't have a job, but there were definitely some sparkly silver linings in this day!
Seriously, whenever I start to think that Adam and company can't possibly blow my mind any more than they already have, they go and prove me wrong. So, last night (this morning? I don't know -- the time zone thing fucks with my head) they played a show in New Zealand. And as an early birthday present for his bassist, Tommy Joe, Adam covered one of Tommy's favorite songs for his encore, Metallica's "Enter Sandman." It was apparently a complete surprise to Tommy, who didn't know it was going to happen until they started playing it and the rest of the band had only practiced it once. Adam even had to tape the lyrics to the front of the stage. *laughs*

But OMFG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Adam covering Metallica has made my LIFE!!!! *flails wildly*

Enter Sandman )

Apparently they were sound-checking "Closer" yesterday too. If they ever did both NIN and Metallica I may just die of the sheer awesomeness!

So, yeah, I think I'll be spending the rest of my Sunday re-watching that vid. Glam Metal FTMFW!!!!! \m/

O_o

Oct. 14th, 2010 05:34 pm
Adam had to make a few adjustments to his Glam Nation show for his performance last night in Malaysia. Other than refraining from kissing Tommy, Adam apparently also refrained from wearing underwear. *g*

Commando!Adam )

Um. Yeah. I think Tommy says it best: WOW.
I wanna talk t.v., but first: I GOT TICKETS TO SEE ADAM IN L.A. IN DECEMBER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The last Glam Nation show of the tour! In L.A.! With mah girls! So much fabulosity!!! *flails*

Ahem. Ok. So, t.v.

First, Sons of Anarchy got tapped for a fourth season!!! More wickedly hot, totally fucked up dudes on motorcycles!!! More badass, morally ambiguous chicks!!! This makes me exceedingly happy!

Second, is anyone else watching LOGO's The A-List New York? It premiered this week and it's been described as the Gay Housewives of New York. While I don't normally watch those types of reality shows, I love Mike Ruiz's work, so I decided to check it out to see more of him. So glad I did! It was both fabulous and ridiculous! Also, I highly approve of their propensity to run around shirtless! And to have naked!times in the hot tub! Hot New York gay boys! What's not to love about that??? *g*

Third, GLEE. Lately my twitter feed and flist has been full of "OMG I hate this character so much!" and "that character is a douche!" and "this other character is SO annoying!" Or some other such version of the "Glee sucketh" song. And, I'm just wondering, WHY??? Isn't the entire point of the show that all of these characters are flawed and fucked up and plain unlikeable in some way? Um, pretty much the same way we ALL were in high school? And isn't what makes this show great is that there are delightful flashes of humanity despite all the flaws? And aren't those moments made even more brilliant because the characters are so imperfect? I know this is why I love the show. You know, other than the awesomely cheesy and fabulous cover songs. So, um, am I missing something? *confused*

Ok, I think that was all I had to say about t.v. for now. Basically: More SoA, yay! The A-List is ridiculously fab - y'all should watch! And, where's the Glee love??? So, yeah, if you want, you can come and talk to me about these things and I'll probably have more words to say about them! *g*

Also, um, Braves, WTF was that? No, really. WTAF?
Adam Lambert finally announced a date for an L.A. show!!!!! It's about damn time! I've been waiting for this since the start of Glam Nation. It will be December 16th at Club Nokia. Which likely means a GA show, but I'm ok with that. It also means something in the neighborhood of 2,300 maximum capacity, so I'm anticipating tickets to sell out pretty damn fast. Still no word on whether there will be a VIP M&G package sold for this show, but I think the chances are good that there will be. Again, I'm sure it will sell out in a flash. In any case, AN L.A. SHOW!!!! I will SO be there! Who's with me??? *beams*

Speaking of Adam, as we do around here *g*, there was a gorgeous new picture floating around me twitter feed this week: Seriously, Adam, how so damn pretty??? )

AND, sticking to a theme here, he added "Broken Open" to his set in Osaka, Japan today. I love that song, and I haven't heard it live since Fantasy Springs, and Gridlock before that.

Broken Open )
*loves so hard*

Ok, so, there are other things I wanted to talk to y'all about, but then Adam announced his L.A. date and sort of ate my brain. I'd say sorry, but, I'm really not. *g* So, I'll talk about those other things quickly, in a list! Because lists are fun!

> My car is in ICU, or, rather, the shop. I still don't know what the problem is, but I'm keeping my fingers crossed that whatever it is it won't break the damn bank.

> No news on the job search front. :( I'm trying to stay positive, but, truthfully, it's hard. I'm realizing how much of my self-worth is tied up with my work. There are thoughts and feelings there that I need to sit with, unpack, and write about. And, I will at some point. But, yeah, hard.

> I was too wiped out after the AIDS Walk yesterday, so I rescheduled my tattoo appointment to tomorrow. But, tomorrow there shall be new ink! This makes me happy!

> Dave Grohl, you are fabulous!!! Haha! That cracked me up so hard!

> There's been fabulous T.V. to talk about, like Hawaii Five-O and Sons of Anarchy! And there has been sports stuff to talk about, like yesterday's meltdown by the Cardinals, and how well the Texans are looking, and Jeremy Shockey being fabulous, and the Braves making the playoffs, and my Diamondbacks' giving Kurt the job for next year. But I'm going to have to talk about all of that later, because right now I have to go watch me some Monday night football and then Dancing With The Stars! *laughs* Yes, this lineup pretty sums up the wide range of shit that I find entertaining!
This show had the potential to be bitter-sweet. It was number 12 for me, and the last of my Glam Nation shows, at least until we get an L.A. show. But, really, this show ended up too damn epic to be anything less than incredible and completely obliterating any lingering sadness over the end of the tour!

Third meet and greet. Excessive? Maybe, but I don't really give a damn. What we were hoping for when we got this M&G was early admission to a GA venue. That didn't end up happening, but the venue took care of us anyway, reserving a section of the first balcony that directly overlooked stage left. We were obviously not the only ones with that idea as the entire time we were in line people were fretting, wringing their hands, bitching and complaining, nagging the venue staff, and various combinations of the above, about whether or not we would be done with the M&G and on the floor before the doors opened. It was incredibly annoying! Seriously, people need to learn to go with the flow and just have a damn good time regardless. In the words of a wise five year old: you get what you get and you don't throw a fit! Several folks in line had obviously never learned this kindergarten lesson and they got their bright pink fannish entitlement panties in a twist, demanding that Neil make the venue hold the doors until the M&G was over. Um, did you read your ticket? It said, "meet and greet." If you met Adam and he greeted you, well then hey, you got exactly what you paid for! Sheesh.

Anyway, like I said, the venue doors did in fact open before we were done; but the venue took care of us and we had a great view for the show. And the M&G, even the third one, was delightful! Adam was still charming and gracious. He, unsurprisingly after three of these damn things, recognized me. I walked up and he's all "Heyyy, did you have a good time yesterday?" And we talked a bit about the great energy of the show the night before. This time, I didn't have a shot glass for him. Instead I asked him to sign a picture to my niece, Rhyan, and as he was signing I told him about Rhyan, that she's 2 and she loves him and sings along to all his songs and makes me play concert videos all the time and calls him "Alam" because she still can't quite pronounce her "d"s. He "Awwww'd" adorably. *g* We took the picture and then got back to talking show energy. I told him that I'd seen a lot of live music performances and that there were very few performers who know what to do with that energy, build it and manipulate it and reciprocate it, and because he does know how to work with that energy it makes it a really amazing experience for his audience. He seemed really pleased to hear that and thanked me and we talked a bit more about how cool that night's venue looked and how the energy there already felt amazing. In short, it was another super cool Adam-moment and I'm really glad I did this M&G even if it didn't result in a spot at the barricades!

Me and Adam, one more time! )

Glam Nation at The Tabernacle )

Photobucket

This show just fucking rocked! From Voodoo to dreads, the energy was crazy and intense and euphoric! Oh, yeah, there were dreads! Since it was LP's last show, Adam, Monte and Tommy all took the stage for the encore wearing LP-like dreads. It was hilarious!

The most amazing encore ever!!! )

This was by far one of my favorite Glam Nation shows, just for the wild energy alone. I was completely trashed by the end of the night, but I had such a great time! It was just an incredible night! And then, as if the night couldn't get any better, I got to take a picture with Monte at the buses after the show!

Me and Monte )

So, yeah, my Glam Nation shows ended on one hell of a high note. In fact, I may still be buzzing from that night! *g*

Thumbnails of all my Tabernacle pics. )
[livejournal.com profile] llandaff joined me for the ATL shows. The first one was at a seated venue, at the Woodruff Arts Center Symphony Hall. I think what stood out for me the most about this show was how incredibly friendly the crowd was! I met SO many amazing people!

Vicki and I both had a M&G for this show. The set up was significantly better than New Orleans because they at least had Adam in a little room type area, separate from the rest of the line. Neil was again the M&G wrangler; he does a pretty damn good job too. This was the first time that I heard him give the "do not grope my brother" warning, which makes me wonder what horror must have prompted that.

This M&G felt far less rushed, and I had quite a bit of time with Adam. I was wearing a top that kind of fell off the shoulder and the first thing he noticed was my tattoo. He said something like "Oooh, that's pretty. What is it?" And before I knew it Adam fucking Lambert was tracing the dragonfly knot on my tattoo!!! So, I do my best to find words and explain that it's a dragonfly and he keeps tracing it until he sees it and says something like "Oh, yeah! I see that! That's so cool!" But, mostly, my brain was stuck at Adam's finger tracing over my tattoo! *g* After that he noticed my necklace, which is the same Nicolina Royale one that he wore on his some of his album photography. He picked up the stone and said something like "I love your necklace," which then prompted this whole conversation on Nicolina's amazing jewelry and how I had actually bought this piece before his album photos came out and how I was all "hey, Adam's wearing my necklace," and he laughed and it was delightful! So then I give him the "Atlanta" shot glass that I had brought for him to sign and he remembers the shot glass from NOLA; I tell him that this will likely be a theme because I really love tequila. He and Neil crack up and then we have this whole conversation about tequila! We all agree that Patron is our favorite, although I did give him a couple of suggestions for high end tequilas to try and he seemed intrigued. So, at this point, Neil realizes that we've been talking for a while and haven't even taken a picture yet, so he snaps that and I thank them both and wait for Vicki to have her time with him (which I'll let her tell first, but which was also fantastic!) so that we can then take a picture together. The entire experience was AMAZING and thoroughly DELIGHTFUL!!!

Me and Adam, again! )

Vicki and I had great seats for this show -- third row, just off of center. We were far enough back to have great sound, and close enough to have the occasional eye contact during the show. The energy from the crowd was unbelievable! Probably one of the best of all the shows I've seen in terms of just great reciprocity of energy. It was so much fun, in fact, just to ride along with that great energy, that I hardly took any pictures and instead just enjoyed it!

Photobucket

Here are a few more pictures: )

This show was just flat out so much FUN! Adam was clearly loving all the pretty ATL boys in the crowd. LP gave us an incredible drum solo on his second to last night. Monte's guitar solo during Sleepwalker blew me away! Everything about this show was just amazing, and high energy, and just a freakin' blast!
New Orleans was AMAZING!!! From the meet and greet to our great seats to the incredible energy, this show will forever be one of my favorites.

This was the first of three M&Gs. Adam was incredibly charming and affable. And gorgeous. Dear gods, that man is beautiful! The set up for the M&G was kind of strange; we were literally lined up in a hallway backstage. And while this was probably the most awkward and rushed of the three M&Gs, it was still a lovely experience. I introduced myself and thanked him for taking time to meet with us. He was completely charming; no matter how brief your conversation with him is, he has a real talent for focusing on whoever he's talking to and making you feel as if he's truly listening and connecting. I had him sign a New Orleans shot glass (this will later become a theme of our M&Gs), which prompted a great exchange about tequila. *g*

Me & Adam! )

[livejournal.com profile] coolwhipdiva and I had seats in the pit, first row, center. Awesome! There were several feet, though, between the two pit rows and the stage, so when Allison took the stage, everyone in those first two rows were allowed to rush the stage. I still ended up dead center with just one person in front of me. Which was again, awesome! I actually preferred not being right up against the stage, because (1) I had room to dance (this is very important! *g*) and (2) instead of Adam looking right down to the top of your head, being a foot or so back from the stage allowed for a better angle and a hell of a lot more eye contact. Really, really awesome! We all know the man has an impressive package, and if y'all know me at all you know that I appreciate an impressive package *g*, but I loved being able able to make eye contact, repeatedly, during the entire set, rather than being eye level with his crotch the whole time!

Since this was NOLA, I was kind of expecting the show to be something special, and it really was. The band all came out wearing Mardi Gras masks and Adam started out "Voodoo" with a skull-capped voodoo stick.

Photobucket

Glam Nation in the Big Easy )

Adam and the band and the dancers were just on fiyah in New Orleans! You could tell they were all having a hell of a time and just feeding off the great energy of the crowd. It was obvious that they were all expecting something special from this show, just as all of fandom had been looking forward to a New Orleans Glam Nation stop ever since Adam talked about it being the inspiration for the show. My tenth Glam Nation show in the Big Easy was truly something special!

cause it's voodoo, voodoo, voodoo...under your spell )

♦ This weekend I'm off to San Diego for my cousin's wedding. I can always count on this particular branch of the family to throw one hell of a party when they marry off one of their daughters. So while I'm glad she's happy and all (blah, blah, blah) what I'm really looking forward to is (1) the opportunity to break out some fabulous formal wear and (2) the open bar!!! *g*

♦ In 8 days I will embark on my Glamtastic Vacation of Glittery Awesomeness!!! 3 cities, 4 Glam Nation shows, and 8 fantabulous days filled with several of my most bestest friends and as many damn good times as we can pack into a vacation!!! I cannot wait!

♦ I got a new camera for the trip! While I love my camera with the magical zoom lens, it's a bit unwieldy in crowded spaces like concerts. So I got a tiny camera that fits into the palm of my hand! Or my pocket! It's so small and shiny! )

What is the key to wearing black tie well? Go commando underneath. It adds an air of mystery. Oh, Matt Bomer. I do love you so! I also love Neal a lot. And Peter. And Mozzie. I miss Elizabeth though. There needs to be more Smokin' Hot Mrs. Suit in my White Collar. But, overall, this show entertains me immensely! *loves*

♦ Speaking of immensely entertaining: Kurt Warner is going to dance in the upcoming season of Dancing with the Stars!!! *laughs and laughs* Oh, Kurt. Also, apparently you can't put Baby in a corner anymore. *g* I'm kinda looking forward to this show now!

♦ I'm again walking in the AIDS Walk Phoenix on October 3rd. I realize that times are tough out there, but any contribution, no matter the amount, really does make a difference. If it's your will, you can donate to my AIDS Walk efforts here.

Pretty! And sparkly! )
My ability to thoroughly procrastinate even when I have very little that I actually have to do is really quite remarkable. So, in the hopes of finding a job sometime before we slide into Fall, I gave myself a stern talking to yesterday and determined to treat the search for a job like a job. So far so good. We may actually see something resembling progress before I go trotting off on vacation in two weeks.

Which reminds me, IN TWO WEEKS I'LL BE IN HOUSTON!!!!!!! I'll have me the lovely [livejournal.com profile] annkiri (who I may refuse to let go of)! And we'll be hanging out with [livejournal.com profile] shutyourface and [livejournal.com profile] eckerlilas (fangirling FTW)! And we'll be glamming and glitterfying and SEEING ADAM LAMBERT STRUT HIS STUFF RIGHT IN FRONT OF OUR FACES!!!!!!!!!!!!! *flails*

And then after leaving a glittery wake all over Houston, I'll be flying to New Orleans where I will be meeting up with [livejournal.com profile] coolwhipdiva and [livejournal.com profile] azewewish and then we will proceed to get up to all kinds of shenanigans and probably varying degrees of trouble for the next four days!!!! Bourbon Street! Delicious food! Lots of alcohol! Hot men! More alcohol! Beignets! Fabulous music! More hot men! *g*

NOLA shenanigans will also include another Adam Lambert show and passes to a pre-show meet and greet!!!!!!! *flails again*

And then! Oh, yes, there's more! And then, assuming I've survived the sheer level of awesomeness of those 5 days, I will be flying to Atlanta where I'll meet up with [livejournal.com profile] llandaffaz for TWO MORE GLAM NATION SHOWS AND M&Gs ON BOTH DAYS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! OMG I'll be sharing the same air with Adam 3 times in 4 days!!! *hyperventilates*

*laughs* Truth be told I'm facepalming a bit over that, especially since two of those M&Gs are on back to back days. But, the second Atlanta show is general admission, and the VIP meet and greet package comes with early admission, which was completely worth every penny to me separate and apart from getting to see Adam one more time. Barricades, bb! \o/

So, yeah, basically I have 8 DAYS OF PURE GLITTERY AWESOMENESS HAPPENING IN JUST TWO WEEKS!!!

And you know what else is all kinds of glittery awesomeness? TOMORROW IS MY BIRTHDAY!!! *beams*

And now I think it's time for a nap! Man, unemployment kinda rocks. *g*
Yesterday, Adam announced that his fan site was finally up and running. Naturally, I clicked over. The fan site looks awesome -- great photos, nice navigability, cool lookin' features. None of that is the truly sparkly part, though. No, the truly sparkly part is that when I clicked over I saw that there were VIP Meet & Greet packages already on sale!!! Holy moly smokes!!!!! Several frantic phone calls/texts later and [livejournal.com profile] coolwhipdiva and I have M&Gs for the New Orleans show and [livejournal.com profile] llandaffaz and I have M&Gs for the first Atlanta show!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! *flails wildly* I think it's going to take a little while longer for me to fully process the sheer awesomeness of this! Eeeeee! *flails more*

You may be hearing several reiterations of this flailiness over the next three weeks. JSYK.

And then my Saturday just kept sparkling harder. Several months ago, I helped out with some of the production costs for Cheek's webisode project, "Front Men," and recently he sent me a couple of copies of the DVD, one of them very graciously signed, and a lovely thank you note. Silly boy even included a package of popcorn, so that the proper snacks could be enjoyed while watching! *laughs* Anyhow, last night [livejournal.com profile] zoniduck and [livejournal.com profile] llandaff came by for a "Front Men" watch party. There was pizza and all manner of yummy snacks, including some very delish cupcakes with pink sparkles! We watched "Front Men," and laughed, and quoted, and laughed some more, and then we ate more sparkly cupcakes and girl talked until way too late! It was awesome-times! And "Front Men" is hysterical!!! I can't wait until the world can enjoy it too! (Also, L.A. peeps, I'll bring the DVD with me when I'm in town next month, so watch party at J's! *g*)

So, how's your weekend going? I hope everything is awesomely sparkly for you too! *mwah*

ETA: If you're on Adam's fan site, friend me! *beams*
Yesterday had the potential to go down as a spectacularly craptastic day. I had one of the worst headaches I've ever experienced; it was day two of eating nothing but apple juice and herbs and what I really wanted was about a gallon of coffee and a real breakfast; I was going more than a little stir crazy in this house; and then the ex-boss went and upped his degree of assholish and completely unethical behavior to new and alarming heights. So, really, it wasn't a good day for me.

But then this happened:

(At 1:35) Adam: This is Tommy Joe. You like him? He's the bass player. And you wanna know something funny? He likes girls! Sorry about, but he also, he likes this:

And then Tommy sort of stalked him across the stage with his bass until he was sent back to his corner. *laughs* I have no idea what they were drinking or smoking last night, but they were all especially frisky. I approve! *g*

So, then during his encore of "20th Century Boy," Adam went and fucking one-uped Lady Gaga! Forget simple stage-diving! No, our boy decided to share the love with the audience, jumping down into the crowd, twice, to make out with random audience members -- first kissing the hell outa a girl and then going back down for a taste of a cute little twink that caught his eye! Gods, I love him so hard!

Um, also, please to be taking special note of the back bend and OMG the writhing at the end there. Gif for further study. )

Sweet jam on crackers that boy is bendy! And, holy smokes, his FAAAACE as he writhes around at Monte's feet! Um, yeah, I may need a moment. Or several. *g*

After setting the room and the entire fucking internet on fire, he tweets this:

Oh, Adam, no worries, bb. We are into it. We are SOOOO into it. *g*

So, yeah, yesterday got remarkably better thanks to Adam! :D
Pretty Boy #1: Cheeks

Cheeks released a new video yesterday; this one is on the gay marriage issue. It's called "Don't be a Dick," and like all of Cheeks' videos it's both smart and hilarious. A seriously sexy combination. Also, he has sparkly rainbows in his eyes. He says they weren't intentional and he doesn't know what caused them, but they're kinda mesmerizing.

Pretty Boy #2: Kris Allen

I'm not sure what kinda breakfast of champions Kris has been eating lately, but goddamn whatever it is it's making for some ridiculously hot Pocket Idolness.

Pretty Boy #3: Adam Lambert

Adam changed up his set list tonight at his show in Erie, PA, and instead of Whole Lotta Love or Mad World he covered T. Rex's 20th Century Boy for his encore. Um, excuse me while I lose my shit again over that just one more time! lakdjfldkjofidkdkfjdifjdkf!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was listening to the live stream of the show, and I think I might have let out an actual squeal of delight when I heard the opening guitar chords. *g*

(ETA: HQ vid.)

Two more vids of the encore. )

No, seriously, Adam was BORN to cover this song! This is the first time they do it and it is brilliant! Also, I fully expect him to be on his knees, licking Tommy's bass, by the time he takes his glittery, brilliant, AMAZING self to New Orleans! Just sayin'.
