I've been doing a lot of fic reading lately. I'm looking at this as one of the silver linings of unemployment! *g* Whatevs. My excess of free time, means more fic recs for you!

Enjoy, bbs! *mwah*

Lots of awesome stories involving lots of pretty boys doing lots of amazing and filthy things to each other! Good times! )
Pretty Boy #1: Cheeks

Cheeks released a new video yesterday; this one is on the gay marriage issue. It's called "Don't be a Dick," and like all of Cheeks' videos it's both smart and hilarious. A seriously sexy combination. Also, he has sparkly rainbows in his eyes. He says they weren't intentional and he doesn't know what caused them, but they're kinda mesmerizing.

Pretty Boy #2: Kris Allen

I'm not sure what kinda breakfast of champions Kris has been eating lately, but goddamn whatever it is it's making for some ridiculously hot Pocket Idolness.

Pretty Boy #3: Adam Lambert

Adam changed up his set list tonight at his show in Erie, PA, and instead of Whole Lotta Love or Mad World he covered T. Rex's 20th Century Boy for his encore. Um, excuse me while I lose my shit again over that just one more time! lakdjfldkjofidkdkfjdifjdkf!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was listening to the live stream of the show, and I think I might have let out an actual squeal of delight when I heard the opening guitar chords. *g*

(ETA: HQ vid.)

Two more vids of the encore. )

No, seriously, Adam was BORN to cover this song! This is the first time they do it and it is brilliant! Also, I fully expect him to be on his knees, licking Tommy's bass, by the time he takes his glittery, brilliant, AMAZING self to New Orleans! Just sayin'.

fun friday!

Aug. 6th, 2010 11:26 am
It's Friday!!! Although, I discovered this morning that Friday doesn't carry the same level of excitement when you haven't been slogging through work for the previous five days. *shrugs* Oh, well. It's still FRIDAY!!! I think Friday's, whether or not they come at the end of a work week, should be full of fun and sparkly things!

:: [livejournal.com profile] llandaffaz and I made a completely unplanned trip to Albuquerque on Tuesday for Adam Lambert's show. It was at a teeny-tiny theater that only held about 800 people, we found out Monday night around 11 that we could buy tickets off of someone, it was only about a 7 hour drive, my calendar was suddenly completely clear *g*, so we figured, what the hell. SPONTANEITY FTW!!!

It was a little weird to discover that this Albuquerque crowd was probably the rudest, most obnoxious GA crowd I've been in, including metal shows! Seriously, 300 pound dude, there's no need to push over a 12 year old girl to get closer to the stage. She's about 4 feet tall and weighs all of 90 pounds soaking wet; I'm sure you can see just fine standing behind her. And really, people, this was Adam Lambert we're watching; WE SPARKLE WE DON'T MOSH!!! Ugh. There were so many people thrown out, and I ended up getting the 12 year olds in front of me so that I could at least keep some of the rude shoving and pushing off of them.

But despite the rude and obnoxious crowd (which is really SO strange for an Adam show, as just about everyone else I've encountered has been super nice), there were some awesome people there too. I ended up partying it up standing next to the most gorgeous gay couple in Albuquerque, seriously these boys were SO pretty and touchy and distracting even with Adam on the stage! And the adorable gay teenager in front of us in line who was just as excited to see Tommy as he was Adam and who was practically vibrating with joy after the show filled me with glee!!! And the show was AMAZING!!! Vicki and I had a blast!

:: So You Think You Can Dance!!!! I'm so pleased with the final three. With the exception of Alex who was knocked out by injury and Billy Bell, who was eliminated last week, these were my favorites from the start. I was driving home on Wednesday night, so I didn't get to watch the performance episode, but I finally found Kent and Neil's contemporary piece, choreographed by Travis Wall. I might have watched this about a dozen times already, and if you haven't seen it yet, I'm sorry about your life! GodDAMN. Those three boys make magic together.

:: Cheeks as the gay equivalent of Blanche Devereaux in a theater remake of The Golden Girls!!!! This sounds like the most fantastically hilarious thing ever!!! There is no way that [livejournal.com profile] coolwhipdiva and I are not going to be there for this epic fabulosity!

plus sides

Jun. 30th, 2010 10:12 pm
Today was rough, man. Way too little sleep, a ridiculously early morning in court, a deposition most of the afternoon, deadlines pressing in, clients being more difficult than normal, attorneys who think that rudeness and antagonism are the same as zealous advocacy, hard won resolutions unraveling at the last minute, and way too many fires to put out in one 12 hour work day. I'm wiped. And I'm SO ready for the long weekend.

Thankfully, Adam and Tommy have been a reliable happy place lately:

Photobucket

Yeah, if that doesn't just make your world a better place, I don't know what will. *g*

More of that kinda happy. )

I came home and managed to stay awake for So You Think You Can Dance. And I'm very glad I did, otherwise I would have missed Alex Wong dancing the hell outa that incredible hip hop routine with Twitch! Where the hell did that come from??? Ah-may-zing!

The boys are so good this season, I'm having a hard time picking a favorite. Jose and Kent are ADORABLE! I want to bring them home and pet them and feed them cookies and just be dazzled by their smiles! And Billy Bell is just SO crazy good. Alex blew me away tonight. And even Robert, who I didn't like so much in the beginning, is starting to charm me.

And I realized tonight that a definite plus side to the girls being so MEH this year and getting booted sooner is that they will have to pair the male contestants with male all-stars more often, and, hopefully, come up with some truly brilliantly creative (and HOT, let's definitely bring the hot!) all male partnered dance routines. Um, yes, please! *g*

So, basically the pretty boys saved the day. What's new? *laughs*
Today's happiness, let me tell you about it! *g*

First, last night there was this:

Photobucket

Thank you, boys, for the epic degrees of fanservice you are dishing up on this tour. Please feel free to lick each other any time the mood strikes. *g*

And then there are the plans for N'awlins shenanigans in September that are underway! I managed to put all my lawyerly skills to bear and persuade [livejournal.com profile] azewewish to join me and [livejournal.com profile] coolwhipdiva for said shenanigans. Or, you know, NOT REALLY. Because, really, she did not put up much resistance. *g* But, OMG, New Orleans, and Adam, and Adam and Tommy licking each others' faces, and Saints football, and Jeremy Shockey's abs and ink, and beignets, and ME AND MY GIRLS RAISING HELL IN N'AWLINS!!!!! I might be a little bit excited about this. *g*

And then there's all the World Cup related excitement. I, sadly, missed this mornings amazing U.S. win because I had to be in court. Nevertheless, GO USA!!! I hope those boys are celebrating properly, which, you know, should include lots of post-game adrenaline fueled sex. *g*

ETA:

More awesome picspam of pretty boys celebrating (sadly NOT with hot, post-game adrenaline fueled sex) HERE. (Link courtesy of [livejournal.com profile] mistresscurvy.)

But the HAPPIEST part of today involves one adorable and ridiculously hot POCKET IDOL!!! KRIS!!!!!! Tonight! I'll be skipping out of work early to drive down to Tucson with [livejournal.com profile] llandaffaz and [livejournal.com profile] zoniduck. We plan on getting lost on the way to the Rialto (dear gods, I've never managed to make it there without getting lost and then accidentally finding it!), and then we plan on stalking accidentally running into Kris and the band (what? it totally could happen by coincidence! *g*), and then we plan on ROCKING OUR FACES OFF at the show!!! Good times, people, this is sure to be damn good times.
Photobucket

So here's some of what I've been doing with all this daylight:

1. Being ridiculously entertained by Ninja!Chris: )
He is freakin' ADORABLE!!!

2. Also being all kinds of impressed with Matthew Morrison's soccer skilz! )

3. Enjoying the pretty boys hugging!!!

Photobucket

I'm not posting the gifs from last week's concerts because they fuck up my page, but let me just say that the fanservice in this fandom is EPIC! Thank you, Adam and Tommy, for your touchy-feely awesomeness!!!

4. Being a little annoyed that I missed the Leverage season premier last night. My DVR was only set up to record one hour, so I missed the first half. Does anyone know when/if they'll be re-airing it?

5. Looking forward to tonight's D'backs/Yankees baseball game!!!

What are y'all doing with the longest day of the year?
>> Roy Halladay a perfect game today!!! It's the 20th perfect game in MLB history and the SECOND this month! I love this crazy game!

>> OMFG, finally we get THIS:

Photobucket

>> Who's gonna write me the fem-slash? *begs*

Photobucket

>> Dianna Agron and Lea Michelle were out with the rest of the Glee cast celebrating Chris Colfer's birthday. They are ADORABLE! )

>> Apparently Allison Iraheta will also be in Adam Lambert's If I Had You music video. I find this incredibly charming!

(If you click and make it bigger, you can see Allison on the far right in the green/silver cloak.)
Glee Live on Sunday was DELIGHTFUL!!! Seriously, it was pure joy! I have no other way to describe it. I don't know if it was the music that we all know and sing along to, or the characters that we all love, or if they were just pumping happy drugs into that place, but everyone walked out with the biggest, dorkiest smiles on their faces!

I took Rianna and my mom to the show and they both LOVED it!

The show opened with dance group The LXD. If you're like me, and had never heard of them, do yourselves a favor and Google them. They were AH-MAY-ZING!

Then it was Glee! The show was introduced by a video piece by Mr. Schue and Sue Sylvester.

The entire cast was there, and, they were all in character. I wasn't sure if that was going to be the case or not, but it was definitely the Glee characters on stage. They started the show with "Don't Stop Believing." And they sang just about every big number from the season. The full set list.: )

Photobucket

Photobucket

Lea Michele is amazing live! Her voice was just perfection.

Photobucket

And we got Finn on drums! His was definitely the weakest voice, but I sort of suspected as much. For the most part they bolster his voice with harmonies from the other cast members. And he looks extra pretty playing the drums! So he can stay! *g*

Photobucket

Kurt and Rachel's duet of "Defying Gravity" was incredible!
Photobucket

I have about a billion more pictures, but I'll stick them under a cut.

Glee Live )

Probably my favorite number was "Bad Romance," which hasn't aired yet. OMG this was FABULOUS!!! Complete with Gaga-esque costumes! And Chris Colfer being the fiercest and most fabulous of all!!!

Photobucket

Photobucket

Photobucket

Ga-ga-ooh-la-la! )

The entire house went NUTS when they did this number and I thought the three adorable gay guys sitting next to me were going to spontaneously combust. It was fantastic!

But the absolute best part of the show was how much FUN they all seemed to have performing with each other. Like when Mark and Cory did a little fist pump thing when Amber hit one of her crazy notes. Or like this picture with Lea and Amber. I think that Lea's smile and her hand to her heart just says it all!

Photobucket

*loves and loves* If you're lucky enough to have a ticket to one of the remaining shows, you HAVE A TICKET TO HAPPINESS!
Random sparkly fun stuff for your Friday happy-making!

:: Christina Aguilera's new video for "Not Myself Tonight"!!!

So hot out the box! )

What do y'all think? I kinda love it! It's certainly not groundbreaking in any way and rings of both Madonna and Lady Gaga. But, whatever, it's NEW CHRISTINA!!! And it's crazy hot!!! There's no bad there! *g*

:: Johnny Weir is adorbs! But this is not news. The news part is that he skated a gorgeous new routine, 'Heartbroken,' for Ice Theater of New York.

Heartbroken )

Beautiful! *loves*

:: Also not news: Adam Lambert is gorgeous! He was featured in People's Beautiful People edition.

Beautiful in every single way. )

:: Adam also seems to like hugging is pretty little bassist, Tommy. I approve of this!

Because all straight bassist hug their gay bosses like this, right? )

I just love how touchy-feely they are with each other. Pretty boys being huggy and adorable!!! There is NO bad here!

:: Cheeks' picks for Hot 100 are featured on After Elton today. So cheeky! And, according to him, this is not a "wish list," but a "to do" list! Which, you know, just pings the hell outa my, uh, love of lists! Yeah, that's it! *g*
It felt wonderful to get back to the dance studio last night. It's amazing that I can still retain any muscle memory after a year, but, while not sharp, it wasn't bad. And I always have such a blast with my instructor, Josh. He cracks me up! Which, I think is his sneaky strategy to get me out of my head when I'm dancing. Whatever. It works.

And remember I was saying that dancing is a great way for me to deal with all my relationship issues? This is an example of what I mean: Josh was super excited to see me back in the studio and immediately starts going on about a competition in February that he would really like for us to enter, and just like that, a wave of NOOOO!!! ACK COMMITMENT! issues slams me upside the head! I will agree to dance this dance with you, and maybe even the next one, but no way am I gong to agree to still be dancing with you four months from now! *laughs* My reaction was so immediate and so obvious that it even cracked me up! And even though I could laugh at myself, there was no way I was going to commit to prepping for a dance competition next spring. Commitment issues. I haz them. So, yeah, um, ok. I'll be working on that one. *g*

Enough about my issues, let's talk about pretty boys kissing, shall we? *g* I finally saw the pictures of Matthew Bomer kissing his boyfriend and they are made of sunshine and rainbows and all things happy making!

No, really. They are! )

Mmmm. So pretty! And just another reason why everyone should be watching White Collar! *beams*

In other happy making news, did y'all watch the Phillies tap dance all over the Yankees last night? It was good times! Cliff Lee was freakin' insane! Just brilliant. Seven games would be awesome, but I won't complain if the Phillies decide to take care of this thing sooner rather than later. Just sayin'. *g*
I'm still trying to wash out the bad taste from yesterday's complete failure of a day. So, what's better for happy-makin' purposes, than a Hot Guy Post?!!!

Does this really need any commentary? Other than ASDKFJLKDJF!!!!!!!1!!!!!

There's a super huge version of this pic if anyone wants poster-sized Pocket Idol hotness [HERE].

Cassidy Haley posted new pictures recently. )

And, to round out our Happy Makin' Hot Guy Post, Adam's video for Time for Miracles is out. I approve of post-apocalyptic, grunge!Adam!!!

Time For Miracles

Adam Lambert | MySpace Video

If you have no idea who these boys are, no worries, just enjoy the pretty and move along. For the rest of you...*flais*!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

Scandalpants! )
I'm on my third day of nearly complete sloth and it's been heavenly. Other than a workout with the trainer that kicked my ass into next week and a visit last night with The Nieces, I've done nothing this weekend other than watch t.v. and read fic. Which is exactly what I was aiming for after last month's craziness.

So, I have some pretty boys to share with y'all today, because I'm a giver like that. *g* But before we get distracted by the pretty, I wanted to say a huge THANK YOU to all of you that have donated to the Phoenix Aids Walk. Y'all seriously ROCK MY WORLD!!! There's still time, so if you want to help out, and really, any little bit helps, then you can go [here] to my donation page.

Ok. I promised pretty boys. [livejournal.com profile] arabella_hope posted this picture of Kris the other day and I really have no idea how I had missed this! Cute boy in really, really tight pants!!! )

Y'all remember Cassidy Haley, of the Whiskey In Churches video that I posted a few weeks ago, right? Well here's the video for his song Little Boys and Dinosaurs. It's fantastic!

Little Boys and Dinosaurs )

And, if it isn't entirely obvious from his music videos (which, really, are you just NOT paying attention???), Cassidy Haley is DAMN HOT!

*bites lip* )
So many pretty boys! And they're all so shiny and talented! And, did I mention, PRETTY? Distracting!

Shiny Exhibit #1: Adam Lambert. (No one's surprised by this, right?)

Adam took some pictures. They are at once ridiculous and ridiculously hot!

Feathers! And armor! And SPRAWL!!! There is no bad here!

But, wait! There is MOAR!!!

*bites lip* )

* * *

Shiny Exhibit #2: Cassidy Haley.

Cassidy Haley, the very talented designer of Adam's Skingraft jacket of Ultimate Fierceness, is also a talented musician. He recently released an EP called Little Boys and Dinosaurs. I downloaded it from iTunes and I've been listening to it almost non-stop all day. I LOVE IT! He's got a great sound -- the rhythms are catchy, the lyrics are good. It's solid music!

And Cassidy is definitely not hard to look at. Here's his video for Whiskey In Churches. It's all kinds of sexy!

the devil's more my style at night )

* * *

Shiny Exhibit #3: Brad Bell/Cheeks.

So, for those of you whose fannish experience hasn't revolved around Adam Lambert for the past several months, Brad, also knows as Cheeks, is Adam's ex-boyfriend. The one of the now infamous boy-kissing pictures that surfaced during Idol. Yeah. That one. Adam knows how to pick 'em pretty. Also, Cheeks is all kinds of FABULOUS in his own right. In fact, I may be equally as smitten with Cheeks as I am with Adam. Crazy! I know! But he's smart and snarky. A winning combination! Plus, pretty. I did mention pretty, right? Y'all should be sensing a theme here. *g*

Well, Cheeks is also getting ready to release an EP -- Glambition, due out on September 1st. But today he released the first single, Down Low, together with a video. Now, in the interest of full disclosure, I'm not sure I loved it as much as I loved Cassidy's stuff. It's mostly danceable fluff. But, it's Cheeks! And like I already said, I'm smitten with his little glittery self! So, naturally, there's some inherent fabulousness here. Especially in the video. Seriously, this thing is just a shade this side of soft porn.

GoCheeksGo
:: An extra cup of coffee in the morning with the deliciousness of Pumpkin Spice creamer. Mmmm...coffee.

:: We got a new second baseman (and by "we" I mean the Diamondbacks, of course, *g*). I'll be sad not to see Orlando Hudson in a D'backs uniform, but there's no way will be able to afford him. And I'm glad Augie Ojeda will be around, he's a great utility player. But we really needed someone at second, and it looks as if that'll be Felipe Lopez. And, as an extra bonus tailored to my baser interests, our new second baseman has some very pretty ink!!! *g*

Meet Felipe, our new, nicely inked second baseman. )

:: I'm currently watching "It's a Wonderful Life" on television. I love this movie! This, "Love Actually," and "A Christmas Story" are my three absolute favorite holiday movies, and no holiday season is complete until I've watched each at least once. Even though I haven't yet managed to put out a single holiday decoration, this makes the season official! :)

:: Earlier today, I caught this documentary type show on Showtime about these two boys and I have become completely smitten with them! They are a gay, contemporary Christian musicians!!! Yeah, I know! They also do mainstream pop music, but a big part of their music is about the integration of their spiritual life and their sexuality. And, while the contemporary Christian music industry hasn't exactly thrown their arms open in welcome, they've put out several independently produced CDs and they perform in liberal churches and they do a bunch of work within the Christian community bringing focus to the appallingly high rate of teenage suicides. And, well, they are just ADORABLE!!! This is Jason and deMarco:

Photobucket

Am I right??? Aren't they just ADORABLE! ♥

Here are a few more examples of their adorableness. )

And while their music might be a bit saccharine, I do like their voices, but mostly I just like THEM!

Here's their video OF 'This Is Love' that includes lots of boys being schmoopy and ADORABLE!!! )

:: All afternoon I've been enjoying reading this original piece of slash fiction that someone on my flist recently shared that involves boys and baseball and boys lovin' baseball and boys lovin' boys and it's been DELIGHTFUL!!!
