xxx

Today is 10/10/10, which, in Roman numerals is XXX. There obviously should be a hell of a lot more porn in this day! *nods*

Instead of porn, though, there's sports. Lots of sports. Kind of of schizofrenic sports watching today with my remote control getting a hell of a workout switching between the Cards/Saints game and the Braves in Game 3 of the NLDS.

Max Hall made his first NFL start today as the Cardinals QB. Cool random fact: Max Hall was QB at the same high school I graduated from, Mt. View in Mesa, Arizona. Sure, he took the field as a Toro 12 years after I was there (criminey I'm OLD!), but still, the connection makes me particularly fond of the kid even if he was the reason that Matt Leinart finds himself on Houston's sidelines this season. And he did manage to quickly figure out something that Derek Anderson never did: find Larry Fitzgerald, he's your man. Max found his man. In fact, Max/Larry might be my new NFL OTP. *g* And even though the Saints are playing the Cardinals, I was happy to see Jeremy catch for a TD. I can't help it! His little post-TD grin is adorable!!! *loves*

I skipped out on a family birthday party thing today because there was no way I was going to miss either this football game or today's baseball games. The delightful added benefit to that is that I am currently enjoying having the house all to myself this afternoon! BLISS!

Hope everyone out there is having a great Sunday and props to you if you're enjoying a little extra porn on this XXX day! *g*

october

Oct. 1st, 2010 03:05 pm
October already??? How the heck did that happen? Seriously, this year is just zooming by. But, I do gotta say that I'll be happy to see summer and its hellish temps gone. Please to be bringing on Fall now, Mother Nature!

I've been cranking out the resumes and werking the job search this week. And, seriously, this shit is exhausting. It's just damn tiring to be "selling" yourself all the time! Yes, I'm fabulous, now hire me dammit! *sigh*

In betterer news, the Phoenix AIDS Walk is this Sunday and now not only is my mom walking with me *loves* but my 7 year old niece, Rianna, is also walking! She told me today that she's invited to a birthday party on Sunday, but she'd rather do the AIDS Walk with me because that's more important. So proud of her!

In other Octoberish news, I really want to go see this burlesque show! They have a show on Saturday and then a Halloween show on October 30th. Any locals wanna go with me?

Also, relevant to none of the above, I really want a Datman T-shirt!!! Jeremy Shockey tweeted about getting a new Datman shirt because he had worn his old one out with too many washings! Haha! He's fabulous! So is that t-shirt! *wants*
:: How did I not know that Jeremy Shockey was on Twitter??? I randomly ran across his Twitter account today. *follows* And, sweet jam on crackers, how can I possibly love this man any more? His Twitter bio? "Unwavering." That's it. Unwavering. That's how he describes himself! Just that! I'm equal parts amused and charmed!

Jeremy Shockey. Bio: Unwavering. )

:: Speaking of being equal parts amused and charmed, this is what Adam and his Glam Troupe were apparently up to before their last U.S. show at the Puyallup Fair in Washington: Let's play cowboys and Indians! )

:: MAC has this super cool new make-up line called Venomous Villians based on some of Disney villains! I was completely unable to resist the Maleficent eyeshadows and one of the Evil Queen's lipsticks! *grabby hands*

:: While were on the topic of Disney, sort of. My mom and I bought tickets to take Rianna and Rhyan to see Beauty and the Beast next month at Gammage! I absolutely LOVE this production and it will be the girls' first musical theater experience! I am super excited!!!

:: Why must there be all this super cool stuff that I want to buy when I don't have a damn job??? Cassidy Haley just added a hoodie to his Sunshine Rebels collection. *wants* But, you know, I've got Maleficent eyeshadow coming my way, so I'm going to resist the allure of the Rebel Hoodie.

:: I can't be the only one who actually wanted them to do a Christopher Cross number on GLEE, right??? Don't judge me! Christopher Cross brings up lots of childhood memories with my dad for me! :) Other than wanting Christopher Cross, this is what I thought of this week's GLEE ) Oh, and FYI, I really do hope that Brittany does a perform a musical number by Ke$ha next week! *g*
Today's happiness, let me tell you about it! *g*

First, last night there was this:

Photobucket

Thank you, boys, for the epic degrees of fanservice you are dishing up on this tour. Please feel free to lick each other any time the mood strikes. *g*

And then there are the plans for N'awlins shenanigans in September that are underway! I managed to put all my lawyerly skills to bear and persuade [livejournal.com profile] azewewish to join me and [livejournal.com profile] coolwhipdiva for said shenanigans. Or, you know, NOT REALLY. Because, really, she did not put up much resistance. *g* But, OMG, New Orleans, and Adam, and Adam and Tommy licking each others' faces, and Saints football, and Jeremy Shockey's abs and ink, and beignets, and ME AND MY GIRLS RAISING HELL IN N'AWLINS!!!!! I might be a little bit excited about this. *g*

And then there's all the World Cup related excitement. I, sadly, missed this mornings amazing U.S. win because I had to be in court. Nevertheless, GO USA!!! I hope those boys are celebrating properly, which, you know, should include lots of post-game adrenaline fueled sex. *g*

More awesome picspam of pretty boys celebrating (sadly NOT with hot, post-game adrenaline fueled sex) HERE. (Link courtesy of [livejournal.com profile] mistresscurvy.)

But the HAPPIEST part of today involves one adorable and ridiculously hot POCKET IDOL!!! KRIS!!!!!! Tonight! I'll be skipping out of work early to drive down to Tucson with [livejournal.com profile] llandaffaz and [livejournal.com profile] zoniduck. We plan on getting lost on the way to the Rialto (dear gods, I've never managed to make it there without getting lost and then accidentally finding it!), and then we plan on stalking accidentally running into Kris and the band (what? it totally could happen by coincidence! *g*), and then we plan on ROCKING OUR FACES OFF at the show!!! Good times, people, this is sure to be damn good times.
So this morning I woke up to the nice little surprise of having no voice whatsoever! Ack! I do not approve! I need to be able to talk!!! Yesterday I had a horrible sore throat, but I chalked it up to allergies, even though the sore throat seemed to laugh at the multiple Benadryls I threw at it. And then this morning, POOF, no voice! Plus, the added fun of a hacking cough! Good times! Or, you know, NOT! So, since I couldn't talk, and, really, TALK is what I do a lot of at work, I decided to work from home. Silently. And grumpily. Because I want my voice back!!!

I refuse to let this ruin my weekend in L.A.! *stubborn*

ION, This isn't funny, Jeremy! You better get be ok, dammit! And, Jason, please to be taking better care of your boy!.
I didn't actually get lost on my way back from L.A. It's just that this week has been certifiably insane, and I haven't had a spare moment to come here and properly exclaim over my fantastic weekend!

[livejournal.com profile] coolwhipdiva and I co-hosted an early Mardi Gras party on Saturday, together with hurricanes (dear heavens, the rum consumed!), jambalaya (J outdid herself! so yummy!), lots of beads (although there weren't nearly enough accompanying bared boobs *sadface*), king cake direct from NOLA (I'm pretty sure [livejournal.com profile] azewewish is now tasked with throwing the next bash), good times with a whole bunch of truly amazing friends, and the awesome music of one Cassidy Haley! It was a blast! As you can clearly tell from this hilarious picture:

Obviously the rum was flowing freely! )

And then Cassidy showed up and proceeded to rock the hell out of The Living Room of Acoustic Awesomeness.

He sang several songs off of "Little Boys and Dinosaurs," including Burn, Whiskey in Churches, and Daylight Breaks He also played some of his new material that will be on the CD that's slated to release next month -- The Spindle and Foolish Boy. I probably won't remember his full set, but I know he also did This Time and Dying to Live and his newest Cheesy Love Song, which I'm not sure if that's what it's really called, but it was fantastic!

He was AMAZING live! I am more excited than ever for his new CD and upcoming tour!!!

Also, just for the record, Cassidy is very, very pretty. And he has incredibly white teeth. *g*

Moar Cassidy! )

In addition to being amazingly talented and just really fucking pretty, Cassidy it turns out is just a lovely person, so nice and personable. He is ridiculously charming!

Here's me, being ridiculously charmed by Mr. Haley! *g*

One of the guests also video recorded most of Cassidy's set. She's unfortunately turned off the embedding code, but you can see them [HERE].

ETA: Vids now embedded. )

In addition to fabulous Mardi Gras festivities, on Sunday we got together for a Super Bowl party at Casa Hooker. It was amazing beyond my ability to adequately describe to watch the Saints win that game, AND to watch it with my girls! We screamed our throats raw, and there were more than a few tears shed. Sean Payton has balls of steel, man; and Jeremy looked SO happy *pets*; and Drew is just too awesome for this world! It was, in short, AH-MAY-ZING!

The entire weekend, in fact, was AWESOMER!
What's crazier than "manic"? Fucking insane? Yeah, that's a hell of a lot more accurate. Jeezus, this day was nuts. But on the plus side, the new attorney that I'm training in the criminal defense side of things is really impressing me -- he hustles, retains a lot of information, and asks really good questions. All of which sparks a glimmer of hope deep in my soul that one day soon I won't be as buried on that half of my practice.

So, enough of my whininess, let's talk about happier things. Like how the Saints have made it to the Super Bowl!!!!!!! Dear gods that game was insane! What a nail-biter! I was so glad to see the Saints pull out the win though. And I'm thrilled that Jeremy Shockey will have the opportunity to actually play in the big game and earn that ring the way I'm sure he wishes he could have two years ago. He looked SO happy! And it was just awesome to see the franchise and the city get that moment! Geaux Saints!

Also definitely in the happy column: White Collar!!!!!!!!! Eeee!!! I was about four episodes behind, but I finally got caught up this weekend and OH MY HEART!!! Can Neal and Peter BE any more adorable together??? *heart eyes* And how kick awesome is Elizabeth??? Very. She is VERY kick awesome! Seriously, THIS SHOW FILLS ME WITH SUCH GLEE!!!

Future happiness: I won three [livejournal.com profile] help_haiti auctions. Which means that there will soon be delicious fic (possibly, maybe of the Adam/Tommy variety *twirls*) from [livejournal.com profile] linaerys, [livejournal.com profile] janescott and [livejournal.com profile] ruby_fruit!!! And I get to blame it all on philanthropy! Win/Win!!!

(Hmmm...I don't seem to have a White Collar icon. I really need to correct this. In the meantime I'll use an Adam/Tommy icon in anticipation of all those awesome fics. *g*)
This week has not been easy. I'm definitely ready for it to be over. But, even so, there have been good things, small rainbows among the rain.

:: I made a large pot of gumbo from Thanksgiving's left over turkey and it's DELICIOUS! How did gumbo end up being my comfort food of choice???

:: While today was insanely busy, with crazy clients, back-to-back court hearings, difficult negotiations, and no time for lunch, I did manage to squeeze in time for a Starbuck's Peppermint Mocha and it was SO GOOD! It was like Christmas in a cup! Mmmmm.

:: [livejournal.com profile] idiosyncratic wrote this Jason Taylor/Jeremy Shockey bit and it made me insanely happy!

:: I've got the most amazing friends ever! *loves*

:: Disneyland in only 15 days!!! Which also means a trip in to L.A. to catch Steve Carlson's show and, most importantly, to see my girls!!! I can't wait!!!
Good Things:

:: The Saints are tearing things up against the Packers. Way to go, boys! Also, Jeremy Shockey looks damn hot.

:: I had a kick-ass workout with Trainer!Boy today. Speaking of kicking ass, I've lost 7 pounds this month. This is especially awesome considering all the delicious food we ate in New Orleans. With an additional workout each week, I'm hoping to continue this healthy trend through the holidays. Go me! \o/

:: If all goes as planned with my day tomorrow, I'll be checking out the Nia class here. Exciting!

:: Legend of the Seeker is still very much my cheesetastic happy place! HAI Kehlan's fabulous rack! *ogles* And Richard gets hotter every episode. Especially when he's tied up. I like him tied up. *nods* Speaking of t.v. happy places, my flist is all a flutter over Merlin. I can't wait until it starts to air on NBC in January! In the meantime, tell me why you love it so. With pictoral evidence of its awesomeness, please! *beams*

Less-than-Good Things:

:: Dammit, my neck still hurts. A lot. Heat pads and ibuprofen are doing very little to help. Tomorrow I'm stopping by Ikea to buy a laptop stand. Hopefully that will help.

:: I'm going to have to skip the Coldplay concert Wednesday night. There's just no way I can get all the Thankgiving related things done and trek out to Glendale for the show. Bummer.

Way more Good Things than Less-than-Good Things! Awesome!

Yummy!

Oh my. I just had the most delicious dinner!!! I tried a new recipe -- mediterranean lemon chicken -- because on one of my walks through the neighborhood last week, a neighbor was freely giving out huge bags of lemons. So I had lots of lemons, even after the delicious fresh squeezed lemon aide. The mediterranean lemon chicken recipe is definitely a keeper! Lemon-y and garlic-y and absolutely delicious!!! I paired the chicken with a baked potato and carrots and the whole thing was just YUMMY!

Also, most definitely in the YUMMY category, Tom Brady was practicing in my neighborhood earlier today:

More of the yummy. )

As much as I love Captain Hotass and his boys and I'm really looking forward to Sunday's game, their presence in town is fucking with my daily zen-like existence. Holy hell, traffic downtown this morning was a mess! I was more than 30 minutes late to court this morning because I just could not get near enough to the damn courthouse. And while I won't go near downtown Scottsdale or the arena in Glendale if my life depended on it, I can't help but have to make my way downtown every day. *grumble* Tomorrow I'm giving myself an extra hour, because I'm sure the craziness will only get worse as we get closer to the game. *grumbles more*

In other yummy, but definitely sadder, news... )
