fun friday!

My very shallow Fun Friday Happy List:

1. Cassidy is making me feel highly patriotic today!

Now don't y'all feel like pledging allegiance now! *g*

2. Pretty boys kissing! This never gets old. And after months of this, Tommy actually 'WOW'-ed after this kiss! )

3. And, with thanks to [livejournal.com profile] azewewish for notifying my of the existence of such hotness, Tim Howard, hot, tattooed goalie for Team USA, naked: )

Fun Friday, indeed! *g*
World Cup: What the hell is that annoying buzzing noise??? I drives me insane! No, like, really, I will go on a murderous rampage if I have to continue listening to that brain piercing droning. So, unless I want to cut my soccer fannishness short only 2 days into World Cup play, I think I'll have to start making prodigious use of the mute button. But in less grumptastic World Cup musings, dear gods, Tim Howard, thank you for gracing my television screen with your unbelievable hotness today. You can definitely stay. *g*

Reading: I'm reading Josh Lanyon's "The Ghost Wore Yellow Socks." I continue to love his characters like Dean loves pie! They are quirky and insightful and smart and interesting and flawed and just completely CHARMING!

Feathers: In addition to several gorgeous feather necklaces and hair accessories, made by the lovely and talented Chantala, I now also have a completely fabulous blue and black feather boa! *laughs* It is both awesome and ridiculous! I now need someplace equally awesome and ridiculous to wear said feather boa!

Workout: My trainer kicked my ass today and I'll probably be terribly sore tomorrow, but for now I just feel the good kinda tired.

That about covers my Saturday. It's been relaxing and lovely. Just as Saturdays should be.
For some reason that simply defies explanation, I've been awake since 4 a.m. I'm thinking that this day is going to require both lots of caffeine and lots of random awesomeness to keep me awake and productive. I'm on my second huge Tigger mug of coffee, which takes care of the lots of caffeine and, because it's Tigger, also counts as random awesomeness. I'll definitely be needing more of both, but for now let's concentrate on the random awesomeness!

>> The Non-Football Fan's Guide to the World Cup, or, What To Do If You're Just Here for the Hot Men. This is perhaps the BEST thing on the internets today!!!

>> Quote: "Accepting oneself does not preclude an attempt to become better." ~ Flannery O'Connor.

>> Exercising the Happiness Muscle. Sadly, this isn't as kinky as it sounds. Instead it's "10 Easy Ways to Be Happy Now." Not kinky, but still AWESOME! I think we should all pick one to practice today! Y/Y? Tell me which one you're doing!

>> How Not To Obsess About Looking Fat In A Swimsuit and F-ing Enjoy Yourself! My freckles and very un-Latina-like white skin do not take kindly to sunshine, so unless there's a hot server bringing me fruity alcoholic beverages while I hide from the sun under a shaded cabana I'm not really into the whole beach/pool thing. But I nevertheless add my resounding HELL YEAH to everything said in that blog!

>> Attention Hot Geek Chicks on my flist (and I know there are a lot of you!): Casting call for hot, smart geek chicks at NerdGirls.com!

>> Kris Allen. What? You need more explanation of Kris's awesomeness??? Well, first, he gives us this: )

and this: )

But, lest we forget with all the hotness, he's still completely ADORKABLE: He's got PINK ELEPHANT tour t-shirts!!! *laughs and laughs* I am SO glad I'll be seeing his hot, dorky self on the 23rd!!!

Ok, that's enough caffeine and awesome to get me through 'til about 10 a.m. I'll take care of the coffee, but I'm relying on y'all to provide me with enough random awesomeness to get me through the rest of the day. Ready? Go! :)
The betterness continues, which is exceedingly happy-making because I was quite done with feeling the like undiluted misery. It's also happy-making because it means that I will be taking my measurably less-sick self over to Mill Avenue after work to catch The Daylights show!!! Exciting indeed!

I know I'm late with the flaily-ness, but OMG WHITE COLLAR!!!!!!!! The season finale was so good! Neal and Peter and Elizabeth continue to be made of so much awesomeness, I can hardly take it! And, GAH, that last scene KILLED me! Oh, boys! *loves and loves* I'm so far behind on life, do we know if it's been renewed for a second season? Please someone tell me there will be more Neal and Peter and Elizabeth in my future!!!

Speaking of things which are awesome, have y'all seen these smokin' hot pics of Alexander Skarsgard in the L.A. Times Magazine??? Jfc. How is it possible that he seems to just get hotter and hotter??? Eventually you'd think that he'd max out the sexiness quotient, but that day has obviously not arrived.

Before I get back to my seemingly endless To Do list, let's talk about baseball for a minute. First the good: it is fantastic to see that Conor Jackson is back and looking healthy and strong again, after going down hard almost all last season with a nasty case of Valley Fever. I missed his hotass self on the field and I'm very happy that he's back! Also of the good, my bb Chris Snyder hit a home run in today's game! He's going to have to battle for game time, so this makes me more happy than it probably would if we didn't have an idiot for a manager who doesn't seem to understand the importance of a smart defensive catcher. Annnnyway. Yay, Chris! :) Of the not so good: Brandon Webb. He's likely to start the season on the DL. This is very much No Bueno! Been there, done that, had the craptastic season to prove it. We do not a repeat, thankyouverymuch. So frustrating! Especially since it seems to be more of mental thing at this point rather than a physical impairment. Dear Brandon, please to be getting your shit together. Sooner rather than later would be most helpful.

Alrighty then. Aren't y'all glad baseball is back??? Yeah, I knew you missed my baseball related ramblings. *g*
I'm still trying to wash out the bad taste from yesterday's complete failure of a day. So, what's better for happy-makin' purposes, than a Hot Guy Post?!!!

Does this really need any commentary? Other than ASDKFJLKDJF!!!!!!!1!!!!!

There's a super huge version of this pic if anyone wants poster-sized Pocket Idol hotness [HERE].

Cassidy Haley posted new pictures recently. )

And, to round out our Happy Makin' Hot Guy Post, Adam's video for Time for Miracles is out. I approve of post-apocalyptic, grunge!Adam!!!

1. Was it just me or was this like the longest Tuesday ever??? Jeezus this day just dragged on forever. It probably didn't help that I was running on about 3 hours of sleep, had a massive migraine going, and really only wanted to be home reading Kris/Adam fic and watching video of their interviews. But seriously this day was like 3 weeks long. *sigh*

3. While we're on the topic: The Epic KrAdam Bromance Guide for Idiots. Go on. Click it. The sheer awesomeness and glee contained in that one post cannot be textually rendered!!! I dare you not to be completely charmed by these boys!

4. Now while that post is brimming with awesomeness, it is admittedly a bit Kris-centric. So, let me balance out the scales a bit with some additional Adam love. I'm not sure if I can properly describe the fabulousness of one Adam Lambert. Seriously. This boy is fuckin' FIERCE. He says shit like "I'm gonna top you like whipped cream on IHOP pancakes"!!! Now I KNOW that you bitches can appreciate a man who speaks these kinds of endearments! *g* (Speaking of, this REALLY needs to be on an icon!)

Additional pictorial evidence of Adam's fabulousness. )

5. I know that we're all horribly disappointed by today's California Supreme Court ruling on the validity of Prop. 8. I've read the opinion and I could probably talk about what I think of the legal reasoning behind the decision. But, really, do we need more legalese blah blah blah at this point? I don't think so. At least I don't. What I'd like instead is a little damn hope. So, here. Have a song that made me cry the first time I heard him perform it:

Adam Lambert covers Sam Cooke's A Change is Gonna Come (studio version)

Be good to each other people. *mwah*
It was ridiculously impossible to get tickets to this thing. I don't care how hot this cast is, I was NOT going to spend my weekend in line in order to be able to see them in person.

The fact remains, though, that Hugh Jackman, Liev Schrieber, Ryan Reynolds, and Taylor Kitsch are less than three miles from my house right now!!! You can practically feel the ambient temperature grow exponentially HOTTER with all the sexy men in the neighborhood! See what I mean? *bites lip*

Also, hello there, Mr. Jackman. How so damn hot???

A few more pictures from tonight's premier. )
This week has been INSANELY busy. But I can't complain too much because part of the insanity is that I'm trying to get ahead of a couple of projects since I'll be jumping this crazytrain next week for five days in Austin! OMG I can't wait!!!

In other craziness, I burned a huge pot of gumbo last night and this makes me very sad. :( I blame it on the mediocre pot I was using rather than my inattentiveness, but whatever, my gumbo was RUINED. *woe* And as if that weren't bad enough, my house still smells like smoke. Blech.

I have a question for the baseball fans on my flist. Hypothetically, if you were to make a list, possibly with accompanying photographic exhibits, of the Hottest Men of MLB -- (What? It's not as if these lists don't already exist in our heads!) -- who would make your list?

Speaking of hot men (as we do around these parts), not of the baseball playing variety:

Jeffrey Dean Morgan as the Comedian may just be the death of me. )

It was worth sitting through the People Choice Awards if only to see Shemar Moore looking incredibly sexy in glasses. )
On Monday [livejournal.com profile] idiosyncratic posted a whole bunch of pictures of really hot men. Go on. Take a look. I'll wait.

There's a whole lot of HOT happening there, right? There may be a few there who wouldn't necessarily make my list, but there is very little to argue about in that compilation of very fine men and if I were to repeat her efforts many if not most of those beautiful men would be here. But since Jo opened up the floor for more hot men, and as I firmly believe that there can never be too many hot men, I've put together this addendum to her list:

Addendum of Really Hot Men )

Damn. I mean...DAMN. That's a lot of HOTNESS. *bites lip*

Between this post and Jo's original post, we've covered a lot of hotness, but the world (thank all that is holy!) is full of really hot men. So if you think we've made a tragic oversight of your favorite male eye candy, please do not hesitate to make an addendum of your own! *hopes*
Today's happeh-making happenings:

1. One of my January trials got continued for two weeks, which frees up January to manageable levels and which may even allow me to take a long weekend out of town mid-month! I think I may be going to visit [livejournal.com profile] annkiri in Austin! \o/

2. Frosty the Snowman was on t.v. this evening! It's still on of my favorite holiday cartoons!

3. I had a most delicious cream puff for dessert! Yum! It was entirely decadent and scrumptious.

4. A hot aromatherapy bag is currently working it's magic on the tension headache that plagued me all day. *relieved sigh*

5. [livejournal.com profile] azewewish posted these pictures of Viggo Mortensen and Jason Isaacs this morning and they have definitely been my happy place all day:

More Viggo and Jason HOTNESS under the cut )
I'm really supposed to be working, but I seem to have misplaced my motivation. So how 'bout some quick bullet points on the day?

  • I'm feeling good better almost human today! I think I am finally gaining the upper hand on the plague! \o/

  • Monday's aren't so bad when they start with a good amount of flirting with Mr. Hot Court Security Man. There may have been slightly unprofessional comments about his wand involved. What??? That persnickety security machine BEEPS at me every. damn. day. Which, you know, is not so bad if I get to be, ahem, wanded by Mr. Hot Court Security Man. *g*

  • I'm implementing a new policy for my law practice, and I think I need to print it on my business cards, just so that it's clear: If I have at any time fucked you, please do not be asking me to handle your divorce. Thank you for your consideration. The Management. Seriously. This comes up more often than I had ever anticipated. Three times in the past six months. WTF. o_o

  • HAPPY CINCO DE MAYO!!! Everyone realizes that no one in Mexico, outside of Puebla, actually celebrates this day, right? Irrelevant historical and cultural details aside, I'm going to have dinner at my favorite Mexican restaurant with the familia. There shall be yummy food and plenty of margaritas!!! Mmmmm...margaritas.

Hope everyone is having a good Monday!!!
I am SO keeping Jason, my massage therapist from yesterday. OMG that was 90 minutes of PURE BLISS! And, man, did I ever need it. My back and neck haven't felt this good in weeks. With an awesome massage, a pedicure, a good dinner and a couple glasses of wine, relaxation was definitely successfully achieved! \o/

Today has unfortunately involved too much work with all this last minute trial prep. But at least I've had season two of One Tree Hill to intermittently distract me. Why is it that I find Chad Michael Murray's shaved head so hot??? *facepalm*

Speaking of finding HOT in the strangest of places. My mom has this inexplicable obsession with home improvement and gardening shows. She watches HGTV and the DIY Network all the time. I occasionally mock her because she rarely does any of the home improvement projects. She just likes to watch the shows and make plans for projects that almost never get done. Anyway. All this is to say that I think I finally understand her obsession with these shows. Apparently, some of the guys who host these shows are really hot. Take, for example, Carter Oosterhouse )

So, yeah. I might have to take up watching these home improvement shows. Apparently there's a good deal of eye candy educational programming I've been missing. *g*
