Oh, man, I just enjoyed the most epically lazy Sunday! It was fabulous!

I did very little else other than read, watch baseball, make yummy fruit smoothies for lunch, and goof around with The Nieces. It was a lovely day!

I did do a bit of trip planning that didn't involve Glam Nation tour stops. Namely a long weekend in San Diego in early September for a family wedding. This would be little fun at all if not for the fact that the wedding is at a gorgeous resort (spa time!), there will be an open bar (drunk time!) and I'm thinking of taking The Nieces so they can have a day at Sea World (fun time!).

Also, when Diana's Grove came up in conversation with my mom, she remembered me telling her that this was the last year the Grove would be operating and said she'd really like to go for a weekend. I think this is truly awesome! She really wants to go! So we're making plans to go for the Feast of Persephone in late September. It's so cool to see her so excited about this! And I'm absolutely thrilled to be able to get back to the Grove one more time. <3

In all, this has been a damn good Sunday.
World Cup: What the hell is that annoying buzzing noise??? I drives me insane! No, like, really, I will go on a murderous rampage if I have to continue listening to that brain piercing droning. So, unless I want to cut my soccer fannishness short only 2 days into World Cup play, I think I'll have to start making prodigious use of the mute button. But in less grumptastic World Cup musings, dear gods, Tim Howard, thank you for gracing my television screen with your unbelievable hotness today. You can definitely stay. *g*

Reading: I'm reading Josh Lanyon's "The Ghost Wore Yellow Socks." I continue to love his characters like Dean loves pie! They are quirky and insightful and smart and interesting and flawed and just completely CHARMING!

Feathers: In addition to several gorgeous feather necklaces and hair accessories, made by the lovely and talented Chantala, I now also have a completely fabulous blue and black feather boa! *laughs* It is both awesome and ridiculous! I now need someplace equally awesome and ridiculous to wear said feather boa!

Workout: My trainer kicked my ass today and I'll probably be terribly sore tomorrow, but for now I just feel the good kinda tired.

That about covers my Saturday. It's been relaxing and lovely. Just as Saturdays should be.
For some reason I was up and ridiculously AWAKE at 6:30 this morning. While some of you may have purposefully been up at that time to watch the French Open final, that wasn't my plan for today. Rafa is very pretty, but I don't even understand tennis, so really I would have preferred to have slept in. My brain had other plans. Like cleaning out a closet and purging my wardrobe! You are SO fired, brain!

In funner times, I was finally able to go watch Robin Hood last night and I LOVED IT! Russell was fantastic; Kate was just fierce; and the chemistry between the two of them was sizzling. Kevin, Scott, and Alan just ran away with every one of their scenes! So much fun to watch! Visually it was just plain PRETTY. I don't understand all the criticism over the re-telling. It's a MYTH. Myths are meant to be retold and re-storied with each new telling. That's why they survive and remain relevant. *shakes head* Anyway, I was thoroughly entertained. And, you know, Russell in leather pants is NEVER a bad thing. *g*

Today's plans include getting some laundry done, a now much needed nap, and a massage this afternoon! A truly excellent Sunday, even if it did start too damn early.

may ends

May. 31st, 2010 11:03 pm
After feeling like road kill for a good part of last week and most of the holiday weekend, today I woke up feeling human again! Yay! My throat is still feeling a little raw and this annoying cough is still, well, annoying, but other than that I feel good! I literally spent most of Friday and all of Saturday and Sunday sleeping, which was apparently exactly what I needed.

Today I did some shopping, then we went to my aunt's house for a barbecue, some pool time and some yummy watermelon!!! Watermelon means it's officially summer! :)

Other than marathon nappage, my only other accomplishments for the weekend were catching up on Friday Night Lights, watching the Drop Dead Diva marathon yesterday, and reading a good part of the new Nightrunner book. So despite the feeling like crap part, I'm calling it a damn good weekend! *g*

So, all this time doing next to nothing meant I had a lot of time to think of crazy shenanigans I needed to be getting up to once I was back to well. Y'all realize that this is NOT going to end well, right? *g* Anyway, I think I might see about going to Adam's Louisville concert on July 10th. It's on a Saturday. The Saturday after I get done with my July trial, so I will definitely be needing the break. Plus I have friends in Louisville that I haven't seen in way too long. So, um, yeah, anyone feel like a weekend trip to Louisville??? *bats eyelashes*

Speaking of soliciting partners in crime glitter, J won't be able to make the Denver concert after all, so we have a ticket to sell and, while I'll go either way, a traveling buddy would be nice. Anyone interested in a weekend jaunt to Denver in July? *beams*

Also, this may not be amusing to anyone other than me, but I just caught my brother singing "Whataya Want From Me"!!! *laughs and laughs*

So, how did everyone enjoy their long weekend? I'm hoping y'all managed to do exactly what you needed to this weekend, even if it WAS sleeping for three days straight! *mwah*
Awesome things from this weekend, in list form! Because lists make me happy!

- Great workout with the trainer on Saturday!

- Spring cleaned the hell outa my room! (Shush! I know it's nearly summer! It still totally counts!)

- Got tickets for me and my mom to go to Adam's San Francisco show in July!

- Hair cut!!! Shiny and bouncy hair!

- Pedicure on my toes toes! Sparkly toes FTW!

- Shopping spree! Spiffy new suit and other assorted work clothes! AND! Pants that are two sizes smaller than the last time I went shopping! Go me! \o/

- Discovered that I will get to see Kris Allen live this summer after all, as his Tucson show is JUNE 23rd instead of July 23rd! Pocket Idol!!! (Also, [livejournal.com profile] zoniduck has an extra ticket if anyone wants to join us!)

- Totally random but lovely chat with the Texas boy.

- Delicious homemade fruit smoothies!

- Finished reading Josh Lanyon's Strange Fortune and I loved it!!!
My list of accomplishments for the weekend is unfortunately much shorter than I would like it to be, but on the plus side, there was a mind blowing Muse concert, some much needed lounging about, time to do some reading, a kick-my-butt-into-next-week workout with The Trainer, and at least some marginal progress on the To Do List. I'm calling it a win!

Among the weekend highlights: I GOT TICKETS FOR THE LADY GAGA SHOW IN JULY!!!! *twirls* Floor tickets sold out within minutes, so I ended up on StubHub. My credit card took a beating, but I was determined to get those damn tickets! *g* (By the way, if anyone is interested in going, I may have a few extra tickets available. Let me know!) Lady Gaga!!! It's going to be insane! I cannot wait!

Speaking of awesome music-related happenings, it looks as if I'll be in L.A. the weekend of May 8th to see MY GIRLS *smishes* and to catch Ely Rise's Birthday Creepshow!!! Exciting! Thank you [livejournal.com profile] coolwhipdiva! I am so ridiculously looking forward to hearing Ferras live!!! (And also might have made an mildly embarrassing high pitched noise when he re-tweeted my news about going. *facepalm*) I haven't even looked at the rest of the lineup, but I'm sure it will be fabulous! There's more info and tickets HERE.

In baseball news, I am pleased with how the D'backs have started the season. Brandon Webb craziness aside (seriously, Webby, you're mind-fucking yourself -- stop that already!), it's good to see them getting things done offensively. Speaking of finally showing an offensive game, the D'backs are currently leading the Pirates 15-4!!! That's what I'm talkin' about!

And, while an injury is never good news, Miguel Montero managed to fuck up his knee in yesterday's game so this means Chris is back behind the bag!!! So much YES to this! AND he hit his first home run this afternoon! Go Chris! (With the added bonus of this serving as a rather pointed eff-you to Faux-Mgr Hinch for benching him in favor of Miguel's bat!!! *evil laugh*) I'm hoping to be able to get out to the ballpark at the end of the month for their series against the Cardinals and Phillies and I'm super excited that I'll be able to see my bb Chris playing!!! *happy dances*

And then there's THIS. )

*swallows tongue* Jfc, Adam. Kill us why don't you.

Also, I have recs! Lot's of awesome recs! There's even some Jensen in here for my Supernatural peeps. *tempts*

For Your Entertainment )

Ok. I'm off now to make the most of what's left of this Sunday. I hope everyone's weekends have been made of just as much awesome as mine!
Today has been gloriously slothful and it's exactly what I needed after what was an insane week. What IS my life, though, that sleeping in on a Saturday apparently now means sleeping until 7:30??? Those that know me know full well how NOT DOWN I am with that situation!

Whatever. Getting up that early meant I had a few blissful hours of quiet in my house and was able to enjoy my coffee in peace, so I really shouldn't complain. Besides that so far my day has consisted of catching up on White Collar (OMG Neal and Peter bickering like an old married couple makes my life!!!) and working my way through the vids from last night's New York concert with Adam Lambert, Kris Allen, and Allison Iraheta. Adam rocked the fuck out! He was full out glam rocker ala Zodiac days and I really hope he brings that shit to his Fantasy Springs show! Seriously, just LOOK at THIS! This is the Adam Lambert I want to see on stage!

Speaking of Adam and his band totally killing it, check out this YouTube vid of the band shredding the hell outa some Pantera at rehearsals last week. Monte is a fucking GOD on that guitar!

Jfc. It NEEDS to be February 27th NOW!!!!!!!!

In the meantime, whataya say to some AMAZING Adam/Tommy fic to hold us over? Yeah, I thought so. *g* I've been meaning to link to this all week, but my week was just too damn crazy for all the truly important things like LJ and Adam/Tommy fic! So sad. But that, apparently, are what slothful Saturdays are for!

So, anyway, the ever awesome [livejournal.com profile] linaerys wrote me a lovely, slow-build Adam/Tommy fic for the [livejournal.com profile] help_haiti effort: Come On, Walk For Me (Adam/Tommy, NC-17). I love the way she writes Tommy; the slow build to the sex makes it extra hot; it's just perfection! Thank you, bb!

What else? Oh, yeah, I discovered today that somehow the last 3 episodes of Sons of Anarchy that I had yet to watch got erased from my DVR. I am NOT amused! Do I seriously have to wait until the DVDs come out now???? Not on, Universe. Not on at all.

So, I think I'm going to go do some more catching up on my t.v. shows and I might even muster up the energy to give myself a manicure, but I think that'll be the extent of my productivity today. A very exciting Saturday, indeed! What's up with y'all today?
It's been a lovely weekend, although I still maintain that two days is just too short for a proper weekend.

On Friday I took Rianna to see The Princess and the Frog. I loved it! I'm pretty sure the six year old Niece Child liked it too. *g*

Yesterday, my family got together to celebrate my cousin's wedding. She got married a couple of weeks ago in Maui. So, naturally, we had a luau. In December. During the two and half weeks a year that it's actually cold in Arizona. *laughs* Yeah, that's how my family rolls. It was fun, though. With enough fires and heaters and alcohol, you could hardly feel the cold. *g*

Today was spent hanging with The Nieces, wrapping holiday presents, watching some football, and getting stuff done around the house. It was mellow and mellow was exactly what I needed.

Now, how 'bout some holiday cheer? It's George Michael singing December Song. And, really, I don't care if he's stoned more often than not, or if he still has a penchant for indiscretions that, are, well, less than discreet, he will always be George Fucking Michael who can out-sing just about everyone and completely owns a stage and is still one of the most entertaining performers ever. In other words, I <3 him. *g*

Also, just because I want to close some tabs, have some fic recs! )
My weekend was completely hijacked by The Elder Niece Child. I had planned on taking her to see Up last night and we did and it was fantastic. But then she decided she wanted a sleep over. Which we did, and considering she was nearly asleep by the time we got home from the movies, it was far less exhausting than a sleep over with a 6 year old can normally be. But then we woke up this morning and she announced that she needed pen and paper in order to MAKE A LIST OF THINGS TO DO TODAY!!! On the one hand, HILARIOUS, because this child SO shares my DNA. On the other hand, her list effectively pronounced the demise of my Sunday "to do" list. So, instead of laundry and grocery shopping and a car wash and oil change and lazing about reading Adam/Kris fic, my Sunday was spent at the McDonald's play area, and going for ice cream, and then hitting up the bookstore (see what I mean about the shared DNA???), and then, and then, and THEN. She had a whole LIST full of "and thens"!!!

Now the weekend is practically over, and I'm just getting started with that laundry and my "to do" list went woefully undone.

But, thankfully, Adam Lambert is still FABULOUS and makes everything better! )

Also, rumor has it that Adam's Rolling Stone cover will involve nothing more than Adam's fabulousness, a strategically placed snake, and an apple. Please, gods, let this be true!!!

And, finally, Kris is so wee! )

Wait! Baseball post script! First, dear D'backs bullpen, if you can please stop blowing huge leads in late innings I might be able to love you again. Until then, you will continue to receive my disdain. Second, though, way to go boys for sticking in there and finally putting up the W after 18 innings!!! \o/ Dear gods, I thought that game would never end.
I saw Watchmen on Friday. *flails* ) And now I can't wait to see it again next week on an IMAX screen!

Yesterday we had a birthday party for Rhyan at the park. She was at her most adorable, loving being the center of attention. I encouraged her to smear her birthday cake all over her cute face! And she loved it! Fun times!

Today I decided to skip the spring training game as I have far too much to do around the house -- some cleaning as I'll have company next weekend (Spring Training Weekend!!!), some long over due laundry (yay for working plumbing!!!), getting my writing sample cleaned up (clerkship interview soon!!!).

I'm also catching up on some missed t.v. I just watched the last two episodes of Legend of the Seeker. Oh, Richard, and your awesome abs! Please keep taking off your shirt as often as possible! With thanks, Me.

And then there's Dollhouse. I'm still thoroughly unconvinced about this show. It's creepy. Not in a good way. And I'm not sure that even the hotness of Tahmoh Penikett can overcome the creepiness factor for me to keep watching. I'll give it one more week, but it may be getting the old DVR-axe soon.

Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles is what I'm now getting caught up on. I thought "Some Must Watch While Some Must Sleep" was just odd. *shakes head* I'm up to Ourselves Alone )

So, what are y'all doing on this Sunday afternoon? *curious*
