I saw Watchmen on Friday. *flails* ) And now I can't wait to see it again next week on an IMAX screen!

Yesterday we had a birthday party for Rhyan at the park. She was at her most adorable, loving being the center of attention. I encouraged her to smear her birthday cake all over her cute face! And she loved it! Fun times!

Today I decided to skip the spring training game as I have far too much to do around the house -- some cleaning as I'll have company next weekend (Spring Training Weekend!!!), some long over due laundry (yay for working plumbing!!!), getting my writing sample cleaned up (clerkship interview soon!!!).

I'm also catching up on some missed t.v. I just watched the last two episodes of Legend of the Seeker. Oh, Richard, and your awesome abs! Please keep taking off your shirt as often as possible! With thanks, Me.

And then there's Dollhouse. I'm still thoroughly unconvinced about this show. It's creepy. Not in a good way. And I'm not sure that even the hotness of Tahmoh Penikett can overcome the creepiness factor for me to keep watching. I'll give it one more week, but it may be getting the old DVR-axe soon.

Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles is what I'm now getting caught up on. I thought "Some Must Watch While Some Must Sleep" was just odd. *shakes head* I'm up to Ourselves Alone )

So, what are y'all doing on this Sunday afternoon? *curious*
Seriously. How is it that it's only Tuesday and yet this week already feels at least two days too long???

My jury came back with a verdict late this afternoon. And while I'm completely exhausted, at least now my life gets to go back to normal levels of chaos and stress. Until Monday, that is, when I'm scheduled to start another trial. Ugh.

Tonight I'm watching American Idol while I get some work done, and then I'm squeezing in a short workout before I (hopefully) get to bed at a decent hour. I did mention that I was COMPLETELY EXHAUSTED, right? Also, don't judge my t.v. watching choices -- reality t.v. is about all my brain can handle at the moment.

So, other than what is apparently a continuation of my piss-poor mood, there are good things happening this week too! Yesterday, my beautiful, baby niece, Rhyan, had her first birthday! Holy moly, where did the last year go??? She's having a birthday party on Saturday and I'm hoping that she will smear cake all over her adorable face!

I'm debating going to a midnight showing of Watchmen on Thursday. On the one hand, WATCHMEN!!!!!!!!!!! On the other hand, good gods I'm exhausted. I just don't know if I'd be able to stay awake that late! Also, I have NOTHING on my schedule on Friday, so I could always go then. Hrm...it's a conundrum, for sure.

Also, a plan is finally starting to take shape for my trip to California later this month. Texas Boy and I will definitely be spending a long weekend (March 20-24) in and around SoCal, with a trip to Disneyland and maybe an excursion to San Diego on the agenda! Yay!!! The second part of the trip is less settled. I really want to stick around SoCal the rest of that week, catch up with my L.A. girls, and see some of my Texas girls when they're in town for the SPN convention. But with all the work stuff so up in the air, I just don't know if I'm going to manage it. For now, I'm just going to play it by ear and hope that some things fall in place before then. *crosses fingers*

And now, I really think this day could use a glass of milk and some chocolate chip cookies. *nods*
This week has been INSANELY busy. But I can't complain too much because part of the insanity is that I'm trying to get ahead of a couple of projects since I'll be jumping this crazytrain next week for five days in Austin! OMG I can't wait!!!

In other craziness, I burned a huge pot of gumbo last night and this makes me very sad. :( I blame it on the mediocre pot I was using rather than my inattentiveness, but whatever, my gumbo was RUINED. *woe* And as if that weren't bad enough, my house still smells like smoke. Blech.

I have a question for the baseball fans on my flist. Hypothetically, if you were to make a list, possibly with accompanying photographic exhibits, of the Hottest Men of MLB -- (What? It's not as if these lists don't already exist in our heads!) -- who would make your list?

Speaking of hot men (as we do around these parts), not of the baseball playing variety:

Jeffrey Dean Morgan as the Comedian may just be the death of me. )

It was worth sitting through the People Choice Awards if only to see Shemar Moore looking incredibly sexy in glasses. )
NEW WATCHMEN TRAILER!!!!!!!!!!!!!! )

*flails wildly*

This post is again brought to you by the letter P for Procrastination. *g*
First, a huge, heart-felt THANK YOU to all the men and women who have served in the military, past and present. You are heroes and your service and your sacrifice are very much appreciated.

Second, for the record, insomnia sucks! Hard. And not in the positive, life-affirming way.

As if insomnia wasn't bad enough, last night my car alarm decided it wanted to randomly and often makes its presence loudly known in the neighborhood. Seriously, there must be some sort of glitch with it because it literally went off at least a dozen times between the hours of 1 and 7 a.m. Every time I thought that maybe, just maybe, I was finally going to fall asleep, the damn alarm would go off again. I was not amused.

The only good thing that can be said about my complete inability to sleep last night is that I was finally able to start getting caught up with season 2 of Brotherhood. Holy hell, this show is FANTASTIC! How much do I love a broken and vulnerable Michael Caffee trying with everything he is not to show the world how fucked up he really is? Lots and lots. That's how much. And a pissed off Tommy Caffee is one of the hottest things on the planet. *bites lip* Seriously, if you're not watching this show...why are you not watching this show? It's one of the best written, most solidly acted shows on television.

In other news, Empire has amazing new Watchmen posters here. (Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] azewewish for the link.) Dear gods, how fantastically dirtybadwrong is that poster of the Comedian??? Jeffrey Dean Morgan looks so good. *wants*

Now I definitely need more coffee. I'm going to do my best to enjoy the last day of my four day weekend with as much Brotherhood and as little actual work as I can manage!

Comic Con

Jul. 28th, 2008 08:27 pm
My first Comic Con experience was made of much awesomeness. Given, however, that there was simply too much awesomeness to remember it all, combined with my level of sheer exhaustion, I don't believe it will be possible for me to adequately convey the fabulousness of my con experience. So instead, I give you highlights in bullet form, with a few pictures for your viewing pleasure. *g*

• Steven Moffat was hilarious and he may have converted me to a fan during the span of the Doctor Who panel.

• I was thoroughly charmed by the Torchwood cast. [livejournal.com profile] coolwhipdiva has a full report of their panel here.

John Barrowman )

Gareth David-Lloyd )

Naoko Mori )

• Jacob Wyatt from Provo, Utah saved the day. He'll be happy to know that, his personal experience not with standing, he indeed had a fabulous time at Comic Con! *g*

• Grant Morrison is completely sexass with his brilliant and amusing brain, sharp dressing, bald head, and Scottish accent, and [livejournal.com profile] editorzon isn't the only one who wants to have his brilliant, bald headed, Scottish babies. *g*

• Due to some fortuitous ogling of a very hot police officer (the ogling of hot men was definitely a theme of the con) we were able to meet and talk to Rudy Reyes from Generation Kill. Holy hell that man is BUILT! He also gets extra awesome points for the hugs and kisses.

Rudy Reyes with four very happy Hookers. )

• The Watchmen panel was awesome. The extended trailer looked amazing, just visually stunning. Everyone seems very invested in doing right by this movie. Also? Jeffrey Dean Morgan is a hotass. As is Patrick Wilson. Someone needs to write Jeff/Patrick porn for me, because together that's enough HOT to possibly make me spontaneously combust! *bites lip*

The combined HOTASS-ness of Jeffrey and Patrick. )

More JDM Hotness )

Billy Crudup )

John Barrowman really liked the dude dressed up as one of the 300 Spartan warriors. )

• We had a hell of a good time at the hotel bar with Guillermo the Latin Tea Boy and Zack the Bartender (also affectionately known as Super G and Z Man).

• The footage for Terminator Salvation looks FUCKING AMAZING!!! Seriously. I got goose bumps. I am so excited to see this movie now!!!

McG and Sam Worthington )

More Sam because he's hot like burning. )

Moon Bloodgood and Anton Yelchin )

• We were walking around the dealers' room and suddenly Nathan Fillion is right in front of us. I'm happy to report that he was lookin' good.

Nathan Fillion )

• For [livejournal.com profile] wrenlet: Some drive-by pics of Matt Dallas of Kyle XY )

• Jason Statham is a little bundle of sexass and the Death Race panel totally sparked my interest in movie.

Jason Statham )

• I had a great time walking around the floor and discovering new (or new to me) artists and writers. Also, a good time: ogling and flirting with what was surprisingly a plethora of hot men. *g*

• I never did make it to the Supernatural panel because I just didn't care enough to get up at the crack of dawn to get into what was a ridiculously long line. The closest we came to the boys was unexpectedly getting caught up in the mad crush of fangirls when Jensen came out to the floor to sign autographs. We got the hell out of there just as soon as we could.

• The absolute best part of Comic Con though was sharing the experience with good friends - [livejournal.com profile] _lisalisa_ (your pictures of Brian Austin Green have been my happy place all afternoon *g*), [livejournal.com profile] coolwhipdiva (you were missed terribly), [livejournal.com profile] dellastarr (I'm SO glad to have met you!!!), and the other two members of the Unholy Trinity, [livejournal.com profile] editorzon and [livejournal.com profile] azewewish (I think we probably all should come with a warning when we're together *g*). I had a blast and can't wait to go back next year!
