1. Cramps suck the joy right out of my day. DNW. And there is apparently not enough ibuprofen in the world to make them go away today. Owie!

2. NOOOOO!!!! The D'backs traded Conor Jackson to the A's for a RHP that, unless he's the second coming of Christ, is not going to have enough miracle in him to fix the complete clusterfuck that is our bullpen. My annoyance with our front office knows no bounds right now. *glares* Mostly though, I'M GONNA MISS CONNOR'S PRETTY FAAAAACE!!! *sadface*

3. Adam Lambert is coming to my neighborhood!!!!! Almost quite literally. He's playing the Marquee Theater in Tempe on August 1st. You damn well better know that I'll be there. *g* It's a GA show, and if [livejournal.com profile] azewewish and I can elbow are way to within a few feet of the stage for a Down show, Glamberts stand no chance against me! *evil cackle* 5 cities, 7 Glam Nation shows, plus Gaga. July is going to be the best month ever! Or, you know, it will completely kill me. Either way, I cannot wait!

4. If you haven't seen Adam's music video for 'If I Had You,' GO NOW! Makes me wanna dance under the moon! What? Just me? Sorry for your life if you've never done this!!! *g*

5. How to silence the annoying buzzing noise so you can watch the World Cup without wanting to kill someone. I've not tried this yet and it looks a good deal more complicated than the mute button, but it might be worth the trouble in order to get commentary to a sport I only really watch for the hot guys. *g*

6. I did an upper body workout yesterday and today I can barely lift my pen. I may have overdone it. :(

7. There's apparently race!fail in SPN fandom again. I don't know many of the details, but it has me thinking about how characters of color are written in general that I'll probably put up in a separate post later because I'd love to have a discussion with all the smart people, and particularly all the smart writers, on my flist about it. But, if you have thoughts on or links to the current kerfluffle, I welcome the edumacation!

ETA: A few more things:
8. Adam has announced a show in New Orleans!!!!! September 12! GLAM NATION IN NOLA!!!! Fuck yeah! I haven't been to New Orleans since October before last, so this definitely calls for at least a long weekend of shenanigans in that most awesome of cities! Who's with me???

9. Goddamn Matthew Morrison. *bites lip*

Photobucket

(More of that gorgeous photo shoot here.)
Monday is being an obstructionist bitch, and I can't watch this a 100 times like it so deserves to be watched, or flail over all the magical people partying like it's the last day of Burning Man on my computer screen, or squee over the outfits and the makeup and the general FABULOUSNESS of this video. But I'm putting it here so I can come back and do all those things later, but also so that y'all can do all those things too! Watch this people! Spot the Cheeks! Did you see Cassidy? How 'bout Alisan? And Allison??? They're all there! And more!!! And Adam looks and sounds amazing! Eeeee!!! I love this video!

I think "Strut" has become my internal power!lawyer theme song. I realized yesterday walking out of court that it was on loop in my head, and now that I think about it, I seem to unconsciously hit that particular play button whenever I really need to get my lawyer on, so to speak. I find this all kinds of hilarious. And now that I'm aware of it, I wouldn't be surprised if I laugh out loud at my own ridiculousness next time I walk into the courtroom or a negotiation room with "I wanna start a revolution..." playing in my head, thus completely negating the whole kick-ass-lawyer thing I was going for in the first place. *laughs*

Speaking of the kick-ass-lawyer thing, I've got approximately a million kick-ass-lawyerly things to do today, so sadly I can't flit around the internet while I grab a bite for lunch like I would prefer to do. But before I get to all the things that I have to do instead, I bring you three shiny things to make this Tuesday just a little more sparkly:

:: Jason Mamoa. Shirtless. On the set of "Conan the Barbarian."

Photobucket

JFC. *bites lip* Y'all are very welcome. *g*

:: A Johnny Weir fic recs post. I haven't had time to see what's there, but I'm sure we can all find something suitably shiny and entertaining.

:: This 6th Grader's rendition of Lady Gaga's "Paparazzi" is AMAZING!!!

loving you is cherry pie )

That kid's got some serious talent! And his smile at the end is PRECIOUS! Now watch it again but this time concentrate on the HEART EYES of the girls in the audience...equally DELIGHTFUL!!! *loves*

HAVE A BEAUTIFUL TUESDAY!!! *mwah*
All week long I kept thinking it was one day later than it actually was. So I was very happy when today actually WAS Friday! I'm feeling a little frayed around the edges, so it's a good thing that the work week is wrapping up and that I'll have a few days to tie those frayed edges off.

Last night was helpful for some much needed de-stressing. I met up with [livejournal.com profile] llandaffaz at a new (or new to me) taco and tequila bar. The tacos were yummy and the tequila was plentiful! They had so many to choose from and I intended to make my way through quite a few of them, but then I tried a pomegranate tequila and I was sort of amazed by its deliciousness so I didn't get any further than that. Pomegranate tequila! Who would've thought. I actually feel kind of blasphemous just typing that. But it was SO GOOD! I definitely have to go back, though, and start working my way through their extensive tequila menu. Surprisingly, I don't consider this a hardship at all! *g*

It was also lovely to chat with V. I love it when new fandoms bring not only awesome new sources of entertainment but also wonderful and amazing new people into my life! Good times, indeed!

Tonight after work several of us are heading out to an evening Spring Training game. This thrills me immensely!!! I can't believe that we're more than half way through March and I haven't made it to a spring training game yet. How is this even possible? It's tragic, I tell you! Tonight, though, there shall be baseball! Exciting! And, if the stars align properly, I may even get to see my D'backs in a spring training match up before the month is out. *fingers crossed*

Weekend plans include taking The Nieces to the Renaissance Festival tomorrow, which should be fun. And then on Sunday, [livejournal.com profile] editorzon will be in town! Yay!!! I have no idea what we'll be doing, but I'm sure it will be nothing less than FABULOUS!!!

Speaking of fabulousness, is anyone in Austin catching Muse's show at Stubb's tonight for SXSW? If you are, you HAVE to come tell me all about it! I promise not to be too jealous of you. *g* I just want to hear all about what I'm sure is going to be an AMAZING show!

You know what else is AMAZING? The Hong Kong release of Adam Lambert's CD includes a condom, for your entertainment!!! *laughs and laughs* This is the most awesome thing ever!!!

So, what's amazing and fabulous in your world this weekend?
Anyone figured out that human cloning thing yet? Because I could really use with about 2 or 3 extra MEs right about now. Gah. Work is craziness! *runs around in circles*

But, I don't want to talk about work. I want to talk about FABULOUS things. Like Lady Gaga. Two Gaga things:

(1) She's announced new Monster Ball Tour dates for the U.S.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! She's going to be in Phoenix on July 31st and in L.A. on August 11th and you bet your glittery goodness that I'm planning on being at both shows!!! Man, her show last year was AMAZING. Seriously, one of the best concerts I've ever been to. And, from what I've heard, she's only made it more amazing! I cannot wait! GAGAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!! *monster claw*

(2) THIS:

Jfc. That's insanely BRILLIANT!!!!! It totally reminds me of a Robert Rodriguez film. I don't know if I can think of another video that's so cinematic, in scope, storytelling, and visual impact, since Thriller. Seriously. I love it THAT MUCH. I love that she's so willing to push every boundary. Costumes? Pshaw. Let's make crazy-ass fashion a way of life! Music video? Hah! Here's a nine minute movie experience instead! She's BRILLIANT! She's probably crazy as a cracker too, but I don't care because I love her! *g*

Ok, since we're talking about FABULOUSNESS, how about those outfits Adam Lambert has been wearing on his international promo tour???

Don't know what I'm talking about? I'm talking rhinestone studded, spiked codpieces, of course! *g* )

Gods, I love his outrageous, unapologetic self!!!

While not fabulously outrageous, he just looks ridiculously PRETTY in this picture and my day could use with some extra pretty, so I'm putting it outside the cut. Deal with it. *g*

ION, Kings of Leon have announced some summer tour dates. Yay!!! Their Phoenix show is at an outdoor amphitheater. In July. Yeah. An outdoor concert in the middle of an Arizona summer. Not yay. Seriously, who came up with this plan??? Last time I saw a show at the Cricket Pavilion in the summertime I swore I would NEVER do that again. But Kings of Leon!!! Ack. I'm so torn!

Ok. I'm officially rambling aimlessly through this post now, so I'll also mention that there are plans afoot to celebrate our latent Irishness with lots of alcohol on Wednesday!!! What??? I think the freckles and red hair definitely entitle me to claim some stake in Wednesday's festivities. *g* And then I'm planning to chase the Guinness with tequila, as there are plans to hit a new tequila bar on Thursday. I'm making sure to cover all my cultural bases this week. :) Also, on Friday I'll FINALLY be catching a Spring Training game! I'm dragging the entire firm out to an evening game after work on Friday. Baseball!!! I've missed you!!! *clings* And, to round out the week's eclectic activities, on Saturday night we're going to a drag show! It's going to be a blast!

But first I really need to figure out that human cloning thing. *g*
I've been in a fog of sick, sleep, and cold meds all day. Oh, and tequila! My mom brought me a shot of Patron with a chaser of hot cinnamon tea this afternoon. *laughs* Because that is how we roll in my family! And we hold fast to our firm belief that there ain't much in this world that a few shots of tequila can't cure.

So, as I was saying, there's been much with the brain fog today. But, nonetheless, I've managed to keep myself adequately entertained by the following:

First Amusing Item: This fabulous primer on the awesomeness of Johnny Weir thoughtfully provided by [livejournal.com profile] jocondite. There is so much fabulosity there it's impossible to take it all in at once! But since I've been doing very little that required me to get out of my bed today, I've had the time to roll around there for HOURS and enjoy all the sparkly Johnny Weir material!

What (tragically) I haven't done yet is read much Johnny Weir fic. Anyone have any recs for me? *bats eyelashes*

Second Amusing Item: Adam. Closing out Sydney's Mardi Gras. In skin tight latex pants. A leather harness. Blinged out shin guards. And a BEDAZZLED CODPIECE. Yes. All at once. An amazing and sparkly confluence of kinky fashion accouterments! *laughs* He defies description. Just check this out!

Seriously. Rhinestones. On. His. Penis. Oh, Adam. Never change, bb. *g*

Wanna know what's even more awesome than his bedazzled cock, though? (And, truly, that I just wrote that sentence completely boggles my mind!) But, yes, even more awesome was that after the Naked Dancing Boys/Strutting Drag Queens/Sparkly Codpiece/Rock The Fuck Out performance of For Your Entertainment (the same song that got him banned from U.S. television screens for a while, by the way), he breaks character for a moment with the most adorable, boyish 'OMG I Can't Believe This Is My Life' grin ever. *loves*
So, yeah, the week has been fairly craptastic. And now it seems as if I managed to catch the latest round of crud, so I'm feeling all sniffly and feverish. But, regardless, I'm determined to be in a better mood, dammit! So, this is me, doing my best to sparkle harder. *g*

Of course, that means a Happy List! \o/

- I've got some truly fabulous, sparkly, purple nail polish on today and just looking at it makes me happier. *stares at sparkly nails*

- My client this morning was so happy and grateful for the work I did on his case. It's pretty freakin' awesome when the work you do really does make a difference in people's lives! Plus he and his partner were simply adorable and I just wanted to keep them in my pocket! ♥

- Apparently Chad Ochocinco will be competing on Dancing with the Stars this season! This just cracks my shit up! *laughs and laughs* Also, Chad is no Jason Taylor. I'm just sayin'.

- In a glee-inducing confluence of fannish obsessions: Adam Lambert is in Australia this week and scheduled to perform at Sydney's Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras sometime today (tomorrow? -- not sure exactly). And, word on the street is that George Michael will also be there and that the two will meet!!!!!! Eeeee!!! This makes my little fannish heart go all pitter-patter! There had better be pictures of this awesomeness!

- AND!!! And this is the sparkliest of all! Adam's bonus track, "Voodoo," which is available on the international release of For Your Entertainment, hit the web last night and it's FABULOUS!!! Check it out:

Oh, man, I cannot wait to hear that live! (Also, if anyone hasn't found a download link and you want it, hit me up with your email and I'll send it to you.)

ETA: Voodoo lyrics )
March! I'm expecting damn good things from you, primarily less work-related insanity and more general awesomeness. So please do not disappoint. Kthx, Me.

To assist in the general awesome-making that I'm forecasting for this month, let's start things out with a List O' Happy shall we?

:: Glee!!! Specifically, the Glee cast will be doing a four city tour this summer!!! And they're kicking it off in Phoenix on May 18!!! This is VERY exciting! Who wants to go with me??? *bats eyelashes*

:: If you have not yet checked out the video of Adam Lambert jamming a completely kick-ass, musically genius acoustic version of 'Whole Lotta Love' at Saturday's Fantasy Springs show, believe me when I tell you that YOUR LIFE IS INCOMPLETE! Seriously. Go. Now. I'll wait. ... See??? Wasn't that AMAZING! I'm still working on recovering the completely blown pieces of my mind. It's probably a futile effort. I may never be the same.

:: Baseball!!!!!!!! Spring Training starts tomorrow! I probably won't be able to get to a game until Saturday. But, just knowing that baseball is being played makes me HAPPY!

I got word that I got picked in the lottery the D'backs were having in order to purchase tickets for the games against the Yankees this season. I'm sure they will sell out, so I think I'm going to snag my tickets now. Also, I'm considering taking Monday, April 5th off so that I can make it to the afternoon home opener. I have a huge mediation later that week, but if I prep early then maybe I can pull it off. What? This is important!!!

:: Apparently it is Jensen Ackles birthday today. Happy birthday, man! I may have fallen out of love with your show but I still think you're ridiculously pretty and I hope you had a kick ass day!

:: These outtakes of Vanity Fair's interview and photo shoot with Johnny Weir sort of made my day! After the Olympics I have the world championships in Italy and then I’m going to take a vacation to Mongolia because I want to ride a yak. *laughs and laughs* How did I end up fangirling a figure skater??? I live in the motherfucking desert and have never even seen an ice rink in person! Whatever, man. This boy is fabulous and I'm keeping him!
Today has been gloriously slothful and it's exactly what I needed after what was an insane week. What IS my life, though, that sleeping in on a Saturday apparently now means sleeping until 7:30??? Those that know me know full well how NOT DOWN I am with that situation!

Whatever. Getting up that early meant I had a few blissful hours of quiet in my house and was able to enjoy my coffee in peace, so I really shouldn't complain. Besides that so far my day has consisted of catching up on White Collar (OMG Neal and Peter bickering like an old married couple makes my life!!!) and working my way through the vids from last night's New York concert with Adam Lambert, Kris Allen, and Allison Iraheta. Adam rocked the fuck out! He was full out glam rocker ala Zodiac days and I really hope he brings that shit to his Fantasy Springs show! Seriously, just LOOK at THIS! This is the Adam Lambert I want to see on stage!

Speaking of Adam and his band totally killing it, check out this YouTube vid of the band shredding the hell outa some Pantera at rehearsals last week. Monte is a fucking GOD on that guitar!

Jfc. It NEEDS to be February 27th NOW!!!!!!!!

In the meantime, whataya say to some AMAZING Adam/Tommy fic to hold us over? Yeah, I thought so. *g* I've been meaning to link to this all week, but my week was just too damn crazy for all the truly important things like LJ and Adam/Tommy fic! So sad. But that, apparently, are what slothful Saturdays are for!

So, anyway, the ever awesome [livejournal.com profile] linaerys wrote me a lovely, slow-build Adam/Tommy fic for the [livejournal.com profile] help_haiti effort: Come On, Walk For Me (Adam/Tommy, NC-17). I love the way she writes Tommy; the slow build to the sex makes it extra hot; it's just perfection! Thank you, bb!

What else? Oh, yeah, I discovered today that somehow the last 3 episodes of Sons of Anarchy that I had yet to watch got erased from my DVR. I am NOT amused! Do I seriously have to wait until the DVDs come out now???? Not on, Universe. Not on at all.

So, I think I'm going to go do some more catching up on my t.v. shows and I might even muster up the energy to give myself a manicure, but I think that'll be the extent of my productivity today. A very exciting Saturday, indeed! What's up with y'all today?
So, I'm sure I've got other things to share with y'all today, but I kind of forgot them all when I was finally able to watch Adam's performance on Ellen's birthday show yesterday. Strut!!!! I love this song! And, dear gods, he just killed it!

Seriously, though, we need to start getting some tour information STAT.
My mini-holiday vacation has thus far been fabulous! [livejournal.com profile] coolwhipdiva is a lovely hostess. We've done a good deal of simply hanging out, catching up, relaxing, and reveling in our mutual fannish obsessions. A perfect vacation, as far as I'm concerned!

Last night we met up with [livejournal.com profile] azewewish, [livejournal.com profile] editorzon, and [livejournal.com profile] sabrinagb for a yummy dinner and even yummier holiday-themed drinks. As always, the best part was the company!

Tonight we added [livejournal.com profile] _lisalisa_ to the mix and headed over to Silver Lake for the twinkiest adaptation of "A Christmas Carol" in the history of ever, aptly called Gay Apparel. It was fabulous! And it was made even more hilariously awesome by surprise!Adam Lambert. I recognized For Your Entertainment from the first note and promptly cracked the hell up! The accompanying dance moves made it even better! I was almost in tears, I was laughing so hard! Good times, man.

Tomorrow's merry-making agenda includes breakfast with accompanying morning-appropriate alcoholic beverages, followed by Avatar, and probably some football watching in the afternoon, and capped off with A Happy Hooker Holiday Party (tm), which will again include appropriate alcoholic beverage accompaniment, of course. *g* More good times!
I played hooky from work yesterday afternoon and today. Technically I took some sick time; although I wasn't sick, per se, but rather annoyingly headachey and suffering a pretty severe case of the blahs. Yes, I'm pretty sure that's the actual medical diagnosis.

But the extra down time meant that I was finally able to get caught up with Legend of the Seeker, which continues to be mental fluff but still good times, and Supernatural, which, really, y'all sure you want to know what I thought? ) I still need to catch up on White Collar and the last episode of Sons of Anarchy, but I've definitely made some progress with the DVR.

The case of the blahs meant that I didn't go out on Friday night like I had planned to do. And because I was home, I ended up having the most surreal chat with an ex-boyfriend. Seriously, it had been almost ELEVEN YEARS since I'd talked to him and out of nowhere he pops up on my chat screen. Surreal doesn't even begin to explain it. But it was good to be able to have a conversation and realize that all the hurt feelings that had festered for so long really were gone. It's just good to get confirmation that all the Work, really has yielded results. Still, fucking surreal. *shakes head*

In other news, dance is going quite fabulously. We've choreographed a completely kickass swing to "For Your Entertainment." Which also happens to be completely on crack. Holy bananas that beat is fast! But so fun! I can't wait to perform it next week. Best of all, though, dance is gong fabulously because it really centers me and connects me to all parts of myself. I love that! More, I need that!

Who am I kidding though with all this updatey stuff? The real news is that ADAM LAMBERT'S FOR YOUR ENTERTAINMENT VIDEO IS FINALLY AVAILABLE!!!!!! *flails*

So hot out the box!!! I love it!!! *flails more*

Also, in an only marginally related note, is it silly that it fills me with absolute glee to see that Adam is wearing the same Nicolina Royale necklace that I have in one of his album pictures? Silly or not, So. Much. GLEE!!!
Ok, work is throwing me against a wall and making me its little bitch today. But I have THINGS, happy things, that I want to share with y'all! So, I'm gonna hide here in LJ for a few minutes until someone knocks on my door or my phone rings for the 4 billionth time today. *nods*

First happy thing: Today is a most wonderful and glorious day for many reasons, but mostly because it is the day that we celebrate the awesomeness of [livejournal.com profile] wendy!!!!!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY, [livejournal.com profile] wendy!!!!! I hope you have the happiest of birthdays and that the year ahead is full of love, laughter, friendship, and the all the wonderful messiness of LIFE! *mwah*

Second happy thing: HOLY GLITTERY GOODNESS, ADAM'S SINGLE DROPPED TODAY!!!!!

Bigger version.

It rocks so hard!!! It's called "For Your Entertainment," and if you haven't heard it yet, it's streaming and available for download [HERE]. The beat is RIDICULOUS and the lyrics are crazy sexy; it's fun and hot and if you can resist shaking your ass to this tune you're a stronger person than I am. *g*

FYE Lyrics )

So, GO! Listen! And come back and TALK TO ME ABOUT ADAM!!!! Or, really, talk to me anything! What's making you happy! What are your Halloween plans? What kinda glitz are you gonna display? (Ha! I sort of love that line. *g*)
