Glee!!!!!! Last night's episode was fabulous! Is Idina Menzel's character going to be recurring? Because that would be sort of awesome. I am SO looking forward to next week's Madonna episode though! And even though I loved last night's Glee, my favorite part was the last four minutes. This is fantastic!!!

Oh, man, Sue Silvester is my favorite snarktastic, fabulously fierce bitch ever!!!!!

So, um, yeah, I guess I'm all aboard the Glee train after all. You can probably ignore all earlier comments about me not being able to get into it. *sheepish*

This probably means that I should get me some Glee icons. Does anyone have Glee icon finding suggestions for me?

I watched more T.V. last night that I normally do, because there was no way I was going to miss Adam on American Idol. Adam's advice was spot on. Unfortunately, too many of the contestants didn't listen to him. The performances were flat, uninspired, BORING. I was unimpressed. BUT, Adam was pretty! So there was that. And, I'm pretty sure Ryan Seacrest was high. Seriously, WTF was that??? Adam though!!! Yeah, I think I'll just keep focusing on the positive. *g* And tonight he performs! As Rhyan says, "MORE A-LAM!" *beams*

You know what else? Hot baseball players!!! I kinda really like hot baseball players! I bet y'all didn't even know that about me, right? *g* And while I'm by no means a Dodgers' fan, I do appreciate the hot boys in Dodger blue. GQ did a piece on Matt Kemp and, dear gods, that boy is lookin' good. *bites lip*

Photobucket

And how is it that I didn't know he had such delicious ink on his arms??? Good gods, I hope Rihanna is appreciating the hell outa that! Here, have some more of Matt's smokin' hot arms! )

Also, while we're on the topic of baseball, I'm expecting my boys to pick it up in Chavez Ravine tonight. Yesterday's performance was just unacceptable. Please do be doing better, boys.

And this has absolutely nothing to do with anything else in this post (which I think is a running theme here!), but I thought it expressed really well my perspective on health and weight loss and my Take Care of Me focus: My Relationship With Food: A Reflection of Self.
Happy Monday, everyone! It's a new week. A clean slate. What are we gonna do with it??? I say let's rock the hell outa it! *beams*

Before I get to this week's plans, though, let me tell y'all about my awesome weekend. I spent Saturday with The Nieces, teaching them the finer points of power shopping! It's never too early to develop the skills necessary for effective retail therapy. *g* I managed to get Rhyan's Halloween costume (she's going to be the most adorable Tinkerbell ever!) and to find all of the accessories I needed for my vintage get up. Yay! Lots of shoe, clothes and toy purchases later, we dragged ourselves home and put two very exhausted girls to bed. It was a good day!

On Sunday I got to have brunch with one of my oldest friends on the planet! I hadn't seen Sara in over five years and yet we picked back up as if we had just seen each other last week! We talked and laughed and talked some more -- it was SO good to reconnect.

And, as a nice bonus, I found a great new (or new to me) place for brunch -- The Farmhouse in Gilbert. The food was so yummy! Plus Mimosas made with fresh squeezed OJ! Delish!

The rest of Sunday was all about sports. It was nice to see the Cardinals play the way I know they can. And having Matt Hasselbeck on my t.v. screen was not bad either. Especially as he was pissed off through most of the game and that boy just gets exponentially hotter when he's angry. *g* Matt Leinart took a few snaps and he's looking damn fine too. And how awesome was it to see the Phillies hand the Dodgers their collective asses? Very awesome, I tell you! Shane Victorino you continue to be made of awesome -- you, your HRs, and your adorable dimples can definitely stay!

Anyway. As I was saying, I'm planning on rocking the hell outa this week. Or, at a minimum, not allow myself to be pwned by it, like I have been lately. Baby steps, and all. Work is likely to be busy, as I've got depositions and deadlines and all manner of things on my to do list. But! On the bright side, it'll only be a four day week for me as I jet off to L.A. on Friday for what is sure to be a fantabulous weekend with my girls! *bounces* So, whatcha say? Shall we make it a good one? :)
Work has totally been interfering with my internet time this week. Unacceptable. But while busy, things are still really good. We're really putting together a good plan for growing the criminal defense practice; I've got some really challenging litigation cases on my plate; I'm getting to work with and learn from some of the best litigators in the state. And I may even be doing a t.v. spot soon for an "ask the expert" type show on one of the Spanish language stations, but I don't have any of the details yet. Yikes! Sometimes, though, I feel like such a fraud, as if I'm mostly just faking my way through my professional life. I know this really isn't true, but the feeling of "oh, hell, I don't know what I'm doing" is often just below the surface of competency. One of my early mentors once said that this feeling never really goes away, and that it, in fact, helped to keep him sharp, always on his toes. I don't know whether that's true, and I'd rather think that eventually I'll start believing that I know what I'm doing, because I really do, but some days, man, are just duct taped together with a constant mantra of "fake it 'til you make it."

In less weighty musings, can I just say how pleased I am that my D'backs have actually been playing some baseball lately? Mark Reynolds has been freakin' on fire all through this clusterfuck of a season. I'm so happy to see him actually play to his potential. And Conor Jackson is finally starting a rehab stint. Poor baby has been so sick and I'm not sure if he'll be able to salvage anything of this season, but I'm glad to see he's finally on the mend. I may never forgive A.J. the Faux Manager for yanking Chris' starter position, but he did well in calling up Trent Oeltjen from Reno. This kid is amazing! Five games in the bigs and he's got 3 home runs, a handful of stolen bases, spectacular plays in the outfield, 5 RBIs, and a SMILE THAT WILL LIGHT UP YOUR WORLD! )

He's had this big, goofy grin on his face since he was called up. Adorable! And he's got this ridiculously sexy Australian accent! Mmmm, yeah, he can totally stay! *g*

Let's see, what else? Oh, yeah, I finally got caught up on Merlin. Talk about pretty boys who can totally stay! That show is completely ridiculous, but the eye candy is just irresistible!

Since we're on the topic of ridiculously pretty boys (as we often are around here *g*), I'll go ahead and confess that I've been completely charmed by Cheeks (Adam's ex, for those not in the glittery know). Seriously, that boy is too pretty for this world! Add smarts and a sharp sense of humor, and, really, how can you not be charmed???

Hm. This post is sort of all over the place, isn't it? Well, let's keep that up and end with this: OMG ONLY TWO DAYS UNTIL VACATION!!!!!! *flails* I have a million things to do still, but on Friday I get to hit the road for L.A. and an awesome-filled weekend with my girls! I cannot wait!
In honor of the start of the 2009 baseball season, we have the Sexy Pitchers Edition of the Hot Men of MLB Picspam!!! )

The Hot Men of MLB, Vol. 1
The Hot Men of MLB, Vol. 2 -- The Hotass Catchers Edition

So, there was baseball happening today. (OMGYAY!!!) It was even available for baseball fans' viewing pleasure on most television sets. Tragically, mine wasn't one of them. My cable has been all kinds of intermittently screwy for weeks now, but it chose today and ESPN2 to really demonstrate how fucked it really was. Seriously, my annoyance cannot be textually rendered. The cable guy is supposed to be here tomorrow evening, so hopefully the problem will be solved soon. But, really. Really! I could not have been more annoyed. (Not annoying, though, was the fact that the Braves won! \o/ )
On the off chance that my frequent and excited babble over Diamondbacks catcher Chris Snyder hasn't made it abundantly clear, let me just state for the record that, yes, it's true, I've got a massive thing for catchers! I don't know if it's because good catchers are smart, and I'm a sucker for a smart man, or if it's the amazing thighs and ass that come of all those hours squatting, but whatever the reason I love me some hotass catchers!!! ♥ So, since catchers and pitchers report this week (!!!), today's installment of The Hot Men of the MLB features HOTASS CATCHERS!!! )

It's sometimes hard to see the man buried underneath all of that catcher's equipment, so I hope y'all can now better appreciate the sexiness that can be found behind home plate! *g*

If you missed the earlier edition of "The Hot Men of MLB," volume 1 is here.

And finally, if you're like me and you've found yourself lamenting the fact that April is still almost two months away, you might like these 'Is it April yet?' icons by [livejournal.com profile] awkwardiconic. I have the feeling that I'll be using them a lot between now and Opening Day.
The 2009 baseball season is right around the corner! Pitchers and catchers report to spring training in just 11 days! [livejournal.com profile] _lisalisa_, [livejournal.com profile] azewewish, [livejournal.com profile] editorzon, and I are making plans for our annual Spring Training Weekend in March! The World Baseball Classic is just a month away! The free agent market is slowly moving along. 2009 schedules are being carefully reviewed for optimum baseball-watching decisions. Spring Training games start at the end of the month!

In other words, IT'S ALMOST BASEBALL TIEMS!!! \o/

Now I know many most of you aren't nearly as excited about this as I am. Baseball isn't everyone's thing. But I also know that gorgeous eye candy IS everyone's thing! So, to get us all ready for the upcoming baseball season, and to appeal to our collective prurient interest *g*, I bring y'all the baseball common denominator:

THE HOT MEN OF MAJOR LEAGUE BASEBALL!!! )

See? Now y'all have three very HOT reasons to watch baseball!!! *g*

And there will be more...my MLB Hot List is long and varied!
I really wanted to choke all of my clients this morning. First, I get a call at 6:30 in the freakin' morning from one client informing me that she won't be in court because she's on the way to the ER with her kid. Ok. These things happen. I can explain all this to the court and probably get a continuance. But I'm really ill-equipped to deal with a hysterical, pregnant mom with a sick kid on the way to the ER who is convinced that she's going to be arrested in the hospital waiting room before I've had any coffee. Then I had a morning full of whiny clients with huge entitlement issues who are convinced that it's my job to make their every wish and want materialize because apparently they think I'm their fairy godmother instead of their criminal defense attorney! They're all damn lucky I didn't stab them with my magic wand pen!

Ok. Now that I've got that out of my system, on to happier things! Like BASEBALL!!! [livejournal.com profile] technosage and I went to our first game of the regular season last night to see the Diamondbacks take on the Dodgers. The D-backs won, 10-5. It was awesome to see Doug Davis pitch such a strong game on his last outing before undergoing surgery for thyroid cancer tomorrow. What a trooper, man. Hopefully his recovery will be a speedy one and we'll see him on the mound again later in the season.

Also awesome were our seats along the first base line in a section of the ballpark where we had wait service!!! Seriously! What's more awesome than a baseball game where a waiter brings your beer and nachos to your seat??? I can think of very little more awesome than that, except maybe if the waiters were hot and shirtless. *nods* There was also plenty of eye candy courtesy of one Conor Jackson on first base. Damn that boy is pretty. And, as Allie so artfully puts it, he's prodigiously furnished as well. *g* In sum, the evening was made of awesome and we had a blast!

In other happy flavored news, I'm currently busy packing because tomorrow morning I'll be heading to California for three harrowing fun-filled days at Disneyland with my niece, Rianna, and her cousin, Carissa. Thankfully, my mom is coming with me to help me run herd over the little ones. I happen to be one of those adults who really love Disneyland, so I'm actually looking forward to this trip. But I've also done this with Rianna before so I know exactly how EXHAUSTING all this fun will be! [livejournal.com profile] azewewish will be joining us at Disneyland on Saturday and on Sunday we'll be meeting up with Brenda and [livejournal.com profile] coolwhipdiva for the Gospel Brunch at the House of Blues. It's my mom's birthday on Sunday, so I think the Gospel Brunch will be a fun way to celebrate. So, a fun and busy weekend ahead! Yay!!!
