Happy Friday everyone! Better yet, Happy Friday Before a Long Weekend (for some of you, at least)! Unfortunately, the whole not working thing kinda takes the thrill out of holiday weekend. :/

But my niece, Rianna, insists that Fridays are supposed to be Fun! So, let's see if we can put a little fun in our Friday, shall we? *beams*

Let's start with some Fun Links:

If you're feeling unmotivated, endless motivation is just a click away. Careful, it's easy to lose yourself in the never ending stream of inspiration!

Sex Is Not the Enemy is one of my favorite Tumblr blogs, because, really, it's not. (Um, NSFW, in case the name didn't clue you in. *g*)

'Nothin But a Glee Thang' with Heather Morris and other Glee cast members on Funny or Die. Hilarious!

How 'bout some Fun Things To Do!

[livejournal.com profile] llandaffaz, [livejournal.com profile] zoniduck and I are going to this burlesque show next Friday. Fun, sexy times! Wanna join us? *tempts*

Who's watching the Golden Globes on Sunday? Any favorite picks?

And finally, Something Fun to Listen To:

Darren Criss covers Disney Songs!!! )

Now, it's your turn! Tell me what's Fun about your Friday! :D
|1| If for some reason you missed President Obama's speech at the memorial for the Tucson victims yesterday, do yourself a favor and listen to it now. )

|2| Whataya know. The Earth and Sun aren't static. And everyone has had their sense of self thrown into a tailspin because the Zodiac calendar has changed. But, really, it hasn't. Not if you were born in the Western world, at least. The Western world's zodiac calendar is seasonally based and fixed, so it doesn't shift as the sun and Earth shift. In any case, even if it did, I'd steadfastly refuse to believe that I was anything other than a Virgo with Libra rising! *makes an alphabetized list of all the ways she's definitely still a Virgo* :)

|3| If you're an Adam fan, or even if you're not, please read this and consider how you might help a great organization raise funds to help gay youth.

|4| Some delightfulness from my Tumblr dash! )

|5| These new photos of Darren deserve their own number, and maybe their own star in the heavens, they are so wonderful!!! )
I made a big, yummy pot of chicken tortilla soup yesterday. It's one of my favorite things and for some inexplicable reason, I hadn't made it in a very long time. So I was floundering trying to remember how to do it. But I did! And it is delicious and nutritious and very low in fat and chalk full of good-for-you veggies! [livejournal.com profile] editorzon mentioned that she'd like the recipe, so I thought I'd put it here in case anyone else was interested in soup goodness (and also so that I'll be able to find it next time I forget!).

Chicken Tortilla Soup of Delicious Goodness!!! )

So, now that I'm in the cooking mood, I want to try new things! Tell me, what is your favorite or current favorite yummy thing to cook? Fill my comments with deliciousness!!! Nom nom nom!
I spent several hours this evening at the 1n10 Youth Empowerment Project drop-in house, observing and meeting with the Director of Programs about how I can best help out. I had originally thought that I'd volunteer on the Board of Directors, and I still think I can help in that capacity at some point, but after seeing the kids in this environment, I really think I want to volunteer in a hands-on way with the various programs, at least for 6 months or so, before serving on the Board. I want to see what 1n10 is doing and get to know the kids they're helping, before I focus efforts on management and fund-raising.

The kids tonight really struck a chord with me; there were about 25 or 30, male and female, all between the ages of about 16 to 23 or so, many were black or Latino, and most were either homeless or had experienced homelessness. They were also bright and feisty and funny and insightful. Tonight was their Activism Crew night, where they discussed various ways in which they can be activists around issues that are important to them. I was so impressed with their discussion around really heavy subjects like homelessness and immigration reform. Mostly, it was a safe space for them to tell their stories and speak their mind, without judgment. I was impressed by the staffs' and volunteers' capacity to listen and to create a safe space for these young people.

So, the plan is to sit in on a few more program nights. I'm told that, other than the kids being queer, the demographic of each group is very different, and thus the needs of each group differ greatly. The needs of the kids at the YEP house are pretty basic: a safe space, a hot meal, information about resources when needed and available and adults willing to listen without judgment. After I've observed the different groups, I can decide which I'd like to work with on a regular basis. I'm glad I went in with an open heart and mind, because I think that working in a more direct way with these kids is likely to impact me profoundly, much more so than just attending a monthly board meeting.

Hm. I didn't really mean to ramble on quite so much about that. What I meant to ramble on about instead was tarot and the fact that I'd really like to read more often this year. I read for myself fairly often, and I'm starting to feel comfortable with the cards and symbols and what they mean to me. But I'd like to read more for others and practice articulating some of the things I think and feel about to the cards with, you know, actual words that are outside my head! So, if anyone would like a new year reading (it still counts as the new year as long as we're in January!), let me know! I'd love to do a tarot reading for you!
I really need to start every week with a happy list.

★ Greek yogurt with honey. It's so delicious! This morning I added bananas and it was extra delicious! Seriously, Greek yogurt and honey is my new favorite thing in the world!!!

★ Getting job search stuff accomplished. I got a reference to a new head hunter. Between those contacts and things picking up now that we're getting into the new year, I'm hoping to see progress soon. *fingers crossed*

★ Setting up a meeting for tomorrow in order to move forward on plans to get more involved with 1n10. (If you haven't yet, check out the information about the organization and their upcoming Fresh Brunch.)

Darren!!! )

★ You know how I mentioned that I just finished watching Spartacus: Blood and Sand, right? Well, I think I found a new girl crush. )
Yesterday morning I met [livejournal.com profile] zoniduck, [livejournal.com profile] llandaffaz, and several other local Adam fans to discuss ways in which we can help the efforts of 1n10, a great organization, providing much needed resources, support and safe space for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer and questioning (LGBTQ) youth here in the Valley. We're putting together Adam-related and other items for the silent auction that will take place at 1n10's annual fundraising Fresh Brunch next month.

We're also working to fill a couple of tables at the brunch. I'll be there! If you can, consider buying a ticket to attend 1n10's Fresh Brunch or buying a ticket for a young LGBTQ person to attend. (If you do buy a brunch ticket, make sure to note in the "Additional Information" box that you'd like to be seated at an Adam fans table or give my name directly, so that we can track the impact we can generate as a group.)

It was great to meet some other local Adam fans. It was also especially nice that the Executive Director of 1n10 came by to meet us and give us more information about the organization. I was glad to be able to talk to him about ways in which I can be involved beyond what we're doing as Adam fans, and I'm so excited about working with this organization!

It was a good morning. (Until I got home and saw the news.)

In unrelated news, except for the way in which it provided a very needed distraction this weekend, holy smokes, Spartacus: Blood and Sand is fucking brilliant!!! Yeah, yeah, I'm a little late in realizing this, but between having to wait for it to come out on DVD and not having many kid-free moments in which I could watch it, I only got around to watching the entire season this past week and finished it today. Jfc. It's brutal and raw and holds absolutely nothing back. The characters, all of them, are complicated and compelling. And, damn, I haven't had that much sheer gorgeousness, naked gorgeousness at that, on my screen in a long time! And the way the season ended? GodDAMN. That took balls.

I'm sad that Andy Whitfield wont be back for a second season (good thoughts to him on the personal battle he's facing), but the rest of the cast was so brilliant and the writing team incredible, that I'm totally looking forward to seeing what they come up with for a second season and to the Gods of the Arena prequel. This is just some damn good television!

Let's see, what other happier parts? Oh, yeah. Football! Although, really, I was not particularly pleased with a lot of the outcomes. The Saints managed to lose to the Seahawks. Yeah. The damn, losing record, hugely inconsistent Seahawks. *shakes head* I would have liked Vick and the Eagles to have played deeper into the playoffs, if nothing else just to piss off the haters. Of the good, though, there won't be any more Peyton Manning in my post-season and Jason Taylor looked deliciously happy when the Jets pulled off their win. So, I'm calling this a happy part of the weekend! :D

So, how 'bout all of you? Tell me about your happier parts! (Ooohh, that sounded dirty! *g*)
My heart breaks over the loss of life that resulted from yesterday's shooting in Tucson. This happened less than a mile from my aunt's home, at a store that I've been to many times. It happened in my state, in my home. This senseless violence took the lives of innocents, of children, of people who were about the business of making this world better.

I knew federal Judge John Roll, who was among the dead yesterday. I first met him in 2002 when I was clerking for a fellow federal judge. I didn't always agree with his decisions, but I always knew him to be thoughtful and reasonable on the bench. More than that, everyone knew him to be a good person; someone who listened well and spoke carefully; someone who was always kind and respectful, no matter who he was addressing. I am so sad about his death. His presence on the federal bench here in Arizona will be missed; his presence in this world will be missed.

I'm even more saddened over the death of little Christina, the 9 year old girl who was killed. The world was robbed of her chance to grow up and have an impact the way Judge Roll did. It's a tragedy beyond words.

It's difficult for me to find words beyond the sadness, but, in so far as the reasons and the responsibility and what this means for our political discourse, I can only say YES and again YES.

Let's keep our thoughts and prayers with the families of those killed yesterday and with Representative Giffords. May we all know peace.
I got my new 2011 calendar today! So exciting! I love getting a new calendar every year and filling in birthdays and other important dates, and looking at all those empty, unscheduled boxes! So many possibilities! I can't be the only one, right? I don't think electronic calendars will ever totally replace paper calendars for me. Filling in my new calendar every January is just too much fun. *dork*

You know what I got to write in my brand new calendar for July? LeakyCon!!! I bought my registration today and it's marked in my calendar, so it's official! [livejournal.com profile] _lisalisa_ and I are going all the way to Orlando, Florida, to a Harry Potter convention that we're only marginally interested in, in order to see Darren Criss and the StarKids perform! It's craziness and I love it!!! :D

Also, if y'all remember back a few months, I was looking for volunteer ideas to fill up some of this extra time I have. Well, I think I've got it! 1n10 is an organization here in the Phoenix area dedicated to helping lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and questioning (LGBTQ) youth by providing them with tools and resources to improve self esteem and acceptance of who they are. I'm getting together with some other Adam fans this weekend to work on ways to help 1n10 with their annual fundraiser brunch and I've been talking with their staff about doing more regular volunteering and maybe even serving on the Board of Directors next year. I'm very excited about this! Filling up those empty boxes in ways that make a difference! \o/

So, what exciting things and important dates are y'all writing in your brand you 2011 calendars? *chinhands*
Happy Wednesday, everyone!!! :D Insomnia kicked my ass last night and I didn't actually get to sleep until after 5 this morning. Four hours of sleep make me highly grumptastic. So, I'm trying to practice that whole sparkle harder, smile bigger, act "as if" mindset until I'm more caffeinated and feel a bit less like sticking a spork in everyone in the world! So far I haven't actually maimed anyone with a plastic utensil, so it might be working. *g*

So, yes, sparkling harder now! In fact, the world is sparkling way hard today because today is the day we celebrate the birth of the ever fabulous [livejournal.com profile] azewewish!!! Brenda, baby, the Universe was certainly smiling in my direction when it brought you into my life. You are one of the most intelligent, articulate, capable, beautiful, AMAZING women I know. Your friendship is such a brilliant, treasured part of my life. You are a sister of my heart and I love you. I wish for you the most fabulous year yet, full of love, friendship, laughter, good times, lots of amazing sex, and plenty of hot men! *mwah*

Since we're on the subject of awesome people, let's talk about Darren Criss, shall we? *g* If you have no idea why he's one of my favorite topics of conversation, go check out fantabulous primer on Darren's various flavors of hotness. Seriously, that picspam is one of the best things to exist in this world!

But, wait. There's more! Apparently, Darren had a LiveJournal when he was in high school, and, for unknown yet greatly appreciated reasons, he hasn't removed that gem of awesomeness from the internets! His adorable dorktasticness was apparent even back then. And, really, how can you possibly not be charmed by a boy who writes things like this???

- It's proposterous that naps are a crime. People need them. Don't make me feel dirty about it.

- Why write essays when I can just send naked pictures of myself to colleges?

- Hellz No, Motherfucker, as they say in Bangladesh.

And, really, you just have to go read his whole bit on the LJ Abuse Team. I was literally laughing out loud! :D

Gods, he's just too adorable for this world! *smitten* And, he does adorable things like coach kids at a young actors' camp! <333

I told [livejournal.com profile] editorzon that I'd put links to all the videos from his performances last week at the Young Actors' Theater Camp, here for her our mutual enjoyment. If somehow your inner 14 year old girl is not completely smitten and swoony with Darren after that picspam primer and reading his old LJ, feel free to skip the rest of this. But if that's the case, I'M SORRY FOR YOUR LIFE AND YOUR REPRESSED INNER 14 YEAR OLD GIRL!!! *g*

Disneyland tomorrow!!! I feel like that kid in the commercial: "I'm too excited to sleep!!!" *g* What can I say? I love Disneyland!

We'll be there until Saturday. I'm sure I'll be completely exhausted by, like, Thursday afternoon. Having that much fun is tiring! *laughs* But I'm also super excited about ringing in the New Year at Disneyland, as I've never done that before. AND, I'll get to see [livejournal.com profile] sabrinagb and [livejournal.com profile] editorzon! Good times!!!

Speaking of Good Times, [livejournal.com profile] _lisalisa_ completely and wonderfully enables and encourages my obsession with Darren Criss. Bless her heart. And, as my enabler and encourager she has jumped on board my ridiculous plan to go to LeakyCon in Orlando, Florida, next July where Darren and the Starkid Team will be performing music from A Very Potter Musical and A Very Potter Sequel!!! There will definitely be field trips to Disney World and Universal's Harry Potter Theme Park involved! So exciting! :D

So, basically, I'm starting off 2011 indulging my inner 12 year old at Disneyland, and that theme will carry on through most of the year. Being a grown up is overrated. *g*

I'm not sure if I'll have the time to stop back in here before the end of the year, so, if I don't: be safe, be happy, and I'll see all you beautiful people in 2011!
My last Monday of 2010 was mostly spent doing laundry and packing and getting ready for our Disneyland trip. Rianna is super excited. Rhyan can pretty much care less. :/ In fact, Rhyan is such a little grumpypants and total homebody, that I wouldn't be surprised if the little stinker insists that she wants to go hooooome when we're in the middle of the happiest damn place on Earth! I'll be heartbroken, but not surprised.

Anyway, laundry and packing happened. So did taking down the Christmas tree, which was a bit sad-making. But, at least we won't have to deal with it when we get back home next weekend.

Today was also the last Monday night football game of 2010, and godDAMN that was a nail-biter! The Falcons and the Saints played one hell of a gritty, intense game. I was happy, though, to see the Saints pull out the win and secure their return to the playoffs! Geaux Saints!!! (Um, sorry <lj user="azewewish"! :/ )
Last night my mom and I stuck with tradition and went to a Christmas night movie. The only requirement for our Christmas movies is that they need to be happy-making, so we saw Tangled and it was indeed happy-making! So cute! But now I totes want to hear Darren Criss covering this song!!! )

Since this post is supposed to be about cheer, let me show you some of what's been bringing me all kinds of cheery thoughts the past few days. *g* Not surprisingly, this holiday cheer is really Darren Criss cheer! )

Speaking of holiday cheer, if you haven't yet please tell me what charity you would like for me to make a holiday donation to! (Yes, I'm going to keep bugging y'all about this until you do it! *beams*) This post and all the holiday charity giving has been incredibly happy-making. Thank y'all for bringing the holiday cheer with me! :D

You know what else has made me very happy? This stunning NOH8 photo of Tommy Joe Ratliff!!! )

Holy moly! Only 5 more days of 2010 left! Me, my mom, and The Nieces leave for Disneyland on Wednesday and that's where we'll be ringing in the New Year. I can't wait!!!

I've also been thinking about what word I'm going to pick for 2011. I have a few ideas, but haven't settled on my word yet. I love reading about others' experiences with their words though. My word in 2010 was PUSH, and I think it shaped my year in some interesting ways. It was definitely a year of pushing boundaries and exploring edges and walking into previously untrodden territory, some of it good and some of it less so. I'll definitely be unpacking that more as I think about my word for 2011. Has anyone else picked a word for 2011? Or does anyone have an experience to share about their 2010 word? I'd love to hear your stories! *chinhands*
We've had a lovely, low-key Christmas. I finally got around to doing some holiday baking, and there is now a whole array of yummy cookies on our kitchen table. Last night it was just me and my mom; I made some yummy gumbo for our Christmas Eve dinner and we got our festive on with some Malibu rum and pineapple juice!

This morning I woke up to Rhyan in the hallway yelling "WAKEY, WAKEY! Time to open presents!" :D The girls had a fun time tearing through the boxes and wrapping paper and after playing with their new toys for while it was blessedly nap time. Sadly my nap was a short one, as I had to get the turkey and the various turkey-dinner accouterments cooking. The turkey is now in the oven and everything else is done. Seriously, I've done enough cooking in the past 48 hours to feed a small army. Obviously, around these parts, food is the reason for the season! *g*

Like I said, lovely and low-key. Whatever winter holiday you celebrate, I hope you've also had a lovely one, surrounded by those you love. And if you haven't yet, help me spread a little holiday cheer!
I've basically failed at all things holiday-ish this year. I'm taking my nieces to Disneyland next week as their Christmas gift, so that meant relatively little holiday gift shopping, which meant no gift wrapping or pretty bows or shiny packages under the tree. I managed to get a tree up and decorated, but like I said, not many shiny packages to put under it. But I still haven't baked a damn cookie. I never did manage to get my holiday cards out.

But even though I haven't done all the holiday things I normally do, doesn't mean that I'm not feeling it, because I am. This year has been full of really high highs and dreadfully low lows, but, in the end, I do know that I'm incredibly blessed. I have a beautiful family who loves me unconditionally; I have the most amazing circle of friends who inspire me to be the best version of me possible; I have a wonderfully healthy body and mind; I have a whole array of interests, people, and things in this world that delight and inspire me. I have SO MUCH. And I am truly grateful for the abundance of love and laughter in my life.

All of that is to say this: I'd like to be able to share some of my abundance and in the process do something to let y'all know how much I love and appreciate you being a part of the love and laughter and delightfulness that fills my life! So, if it's your will, I'd like to know one or two (or more!) causes or organizations that you support from which I can pick one to make a small donation in your name.* I don't know how much the gift will be -- it may be $5, it may be $25, it may be more, but I do promise to give something to those causes/organizations that are most important to you. Neither can I promise that all of the donations will be made before Christmas, but I will promise that I will make a donation of some kind to your charity of choice in your name at some point in 2011. When I do, I will link you to the confirmation in your comment here. :D

Also, if you'd like to do the same, here are some of the organizations that I support:

The Trevor Project
Aunt Rita's Foundation (supports Phoenix area AIDS Services Organizations) or AIDS Project Los Angeles
Donor's Choose
Heifer International

Now it's your turn! Tell me what organizations/causes are near and dear to your heart! Help me spread the love! ♥

Whatever you celebrate this season, may your holiday be full of the gifts of love in all its forms!

* I do reserve the right to ask you to give me other options if I find I cannot support the causes/organizations you've chosen. But with my flist, I doubt this will be an issue.
I think it's patently clear that I love Adam Lambert like I love rainbows and glitter and fabulous make-up and all things sparkly and wonderful in this world. So, it should tell y'all something when I say that even though I absolutely loved Adam's last two Glam Nation shows, Darren's shows at The Roxy were probably the highlight of this trip to L.A. for me.

We had tickets to both his afternoon and evening show. I'm glad we did because even though we timed our arrival at the venue for sometime after the doors were supposed to have opened, there was still a significant line to get in -- a line out in the non-stop rain that drenched the greater L.A. area the entire time I was there. Once we finally made it into The Roxy, we were all nice and damp and Darren was already well into his set. But, on the plus side, The Roxy is a great venue and I was able to find a great spot on the stairs back at the bar to watch the rest of the show. Sweet jam on crackers, that boy is the very definition of ADORABLE!!!

After the first show, [livejournal.com profile] azewewish, [livejournal.com profile] coolwhipdiva, [livejournal.com profile] llandaffaz, and @morgaine99 all decided they would pass on the second show; [livejournal.com profile] _lisalisa_ and I, however, went back out to stand in the rain again until they opened the doors for the evening show. I found it both hilarious and indicative of my levels of smitten-ness (totes a word!) that, while I absolutely refused to stand in line in order to get a good spot on the floor for Adam's shows, on Saturday I found myself not only standing in line for Darren's shows, but standing in line IN THE FUCKING RAIN....TWICE!!! *laughs* [livejournal.com profile] sabrinagb and [livejournal.com profile] editorzon joined me and Lisa for the second show. We managed to grab a table for this show, so not only did we have a place to finally sit and alcohol and food service, but we had an AMAZING view for the show!

The set lists for both shows were the same, so I was able to see what I had missed from the first show. He opened with The Circle of Life!!! Seriously, people, he sings Disney covers! Unironically! I just can't tell you how much I love him for this! <333

Darren Criss Live at The Roxy )

He was so much fun to watch live. I love his music; he's a freakin' musical genius who can play like a dozen different instruments; and there was just so much talent in his band! And his adorableness factor is just through the roof! He's just too precious for words!!! This is me being ridiculously smitten with Darren Criss! *hearts in my eyes FOREVER*

And it was just SO much fun to watch this show with my girls who were equally as DELIGHTED as I was with Darren!!! Thank you, [livejournal.com profile] _lisalisa_, [livejournal.com profile] editorzon, and [livejournal.com profile] sabrinagb, for sharing the Darren Criss lovefest with me! *mwah*
Los Angeles was such a PERFECT way to end what was a fantastic year of Glam Nation. I went to both shows -- the show at The Music Box on the 15th and the final show at Club Nokia on the 16th -- with [livejournal.com profile] llandaffaz, [livejournal.com profile] coolwhipdiva, [livejournal.com profile] _lisalisa_ and @morgaine99, and [livejournal.com profile] editorzon joined us for the final show at Club Nokia. Both shows were just so much damn fun! They were completely stress free; no standing in line for hours, no stressing over seats or getting a close spot on the floor or meet and greets. We hung out and laughed and drank and sang along and danced and just had a fucking good time!

I'm not going to recap them both, mostly because a good part of my flist was actually there with me, but also because there are recaps all over the damn place. But I did want to post some of the vids and photos here, mostly for my own reference.

Glam Nation L.A. part 1, The Music Box, 12/15/10 )

Glam Nation L.A., part 2, The Final Show, Club Nokia, 12/16/10 )

I have had such an amazing time this year going to Glam Nation shows all across the country, spending time with some of my dearest friends, and meeting all kinds of fabulous people! It's been crazy and wonderful, mind blowing and life changing. And this was just a perfect end to what has been one hell of a ride. I'm going to cherish every memory and I can't wait to see what this boy comes up with next!
I finally conquered my humongous To Do list! I'm all packed and ready to head out at too damn early in the morning for L.A. Yay!!!

I am SO looking forward to a long weekend with my best girlfriends, rockin' the last two shows of Adam Lambert's Glam Nation tour, seeing Darren Criss (twice!), Monte Pittman's solo show, showing [livejournal.com profile] llandaffaz and Vivian around L.A. and doing all the touristy things that I never do anymore, spending some long overdue quality time with [livejournal.com profile] editorzon, [livejournal.com profile] azewewish, [livejournal.com profile] _lisalisa_, [livejournal.com profile] coolwhipdiva and [livejournal.com profile] sabrinagb, fitting in some holiday festivities, and all the other assorted shenanigans that are sure to ensue! I'm expecting lots of alcohol to be consumed, plenty of glitter thrown in the air, lots of great music to dance to, great conversations and abundant laughter. Good times shall be had! See y'all on the flip side! :D

(Oh, and thanks for any of those good thoughts sent my way today. The good juju definitely helped and all ended well! Hopefully that will be the last time I'll have to deal with the jackass ex-boss.)
OMG it's only Monday and this week is already completely CRAZYCAKES!!! Thankfully, it's mostly the good kinda crazycakes. (Although, if y'all can send some positive thoughts my way tomorrow around noon, I'd appreciate it. I'm having to deal with the ex-boss continuing to be an unmitigated jackass, so, you know, good juju would come in handy.)

Anyway, GOOD CRAZINESS!!! Let's talk about that some more! I've got a to do list that's about a mile long, and it all needs to be done in the next two days! Ahhhh!!! But just as soon as all those important items like "paint nails," "color hair," "buy lots of alcohol and chocolate snacks," and "OMG PACK FOR L.A." get crossed off my list, then it means that I'm finally on my way to L.A. for what is sure to be an AMAZING long weekend of DAMN GOOD TIMES!!! Eeeee!!! ADAM FUCKING LAMBERT!!!!! And DARREN CRISS!!!! And MONTE PITTMAN!!!!!!! And some of my most favorite people on the planet!!!!!! And glitter! And drinking! And doing fun L.A. touristy things! And laughing and talking and just having fabulously good times!!! Man, I cannot adequately state how much I need this trip right now. My mental health has been a tenuous thing lately, and I'm totally counting on just getting away, not stressing for a few days, and just having a damn good time in order to regain my grasp on my zen.

Like I said, SO MANY GOOD THINGS THIS WEEK! Like Adam! Who manages to wear the fuck out of a completely ridiculous pair of sparkly, zebra-striped pants. )

Also, I may not have mentioned this, oh, in the past 24 hours or so, but I'm completely smitten with one Darren Criss!!! *heart eyes* And I get to see him play this weekend! Twice! I may just die of the concentrated adorableness!!!

No, really, it may be too much presh for me to handle! )

So, since we're talking about faces that make me happy, I think it's been well established that Chris Colfer is all that is precious and adorable in this world and his face does, indeed, make me happy. BUT WAT IS THIS CRAZINESS??? )

There's also this picture of a nearly pantsless Tommy that Isaac tweeted this morning, but I just don't have words to talk about this right now. *g* Feel free to discuss amongst yourselves, though.

I've been reading tons of Kurt/Blaine fic. Like most new fandoms/pairings, there is quite a bit of dreck being posted. Thankfully, y'all have ME to wade through it all and bring you the good stuff! *beams*

Kurt/Blain fic recs )

Darren Criss sings Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas! (Awesome Holiday Song of the Day) )

Ok, now that we have so many good things to roll around in, I'm going to go wade through my insane To Do list, and flail a bit more about L.A. IN TWO DAYS!!!!!! *bounces*
I've been in such a maudlin funk for the past couple of weeks, and it's really becoming rather tiresome. And then the past couple of days I've been so freakin' tired. I think I pretty much slept most of Monday and Tuesday. Which, hello, depression red flag, how are you doin? Ugh.

I am SO looking forward to next week's trip to L.A. A week away and doing things I enjoy with people I enjoy is just what I need to kick my ass out of this pity party I've been wallowing in.

Speaking of this trip, I'm highly amused that I have tickets to 5 different live music events over the course of 4 days! In fact, I have tickets to THREE SHOWS for Saturday alone! Haha! Like I've said, either we rock really damn hard or we are completely crazy! Either way, I love this amazing group of friends who enable these shenanigans! <333

Two of the three Saturday shows are for Darren Criss!!! )

Speaking of the adorable Darren Criss, I loved his scene with Chris Colfer in this week's Glee. Sure it was completely lacking in context, and just sort of shoe-horned into that episode, but I DON'T REALLY CARE! That scene was ONE OF THE BEST THINGS I'VE SEEN ON T.V. EVER!!! Just look at their wittle faaaaces!!! <333 )

I actually kinda liked this episode beyond just the Kurt/Blaine adorableness. I mean, really, Glee kids and cheesy holiday songs. What's not to love? I loved Brittany and her belief in Santa Claus and all the other Glee kids rallying to make sure she doesn't lose that. And I loved the scene with Coach Bieste. And Sue the Grinch! I'm still pretty MEH on the Rachel/Finn story line, but the rest of it totally worked for squishy, happy, holiday feel-goodness.

Not to be outdone on the ADORABLENESS factor, Chris Colfer makes my heart happy with his very existence!!! )

Ok, I have fic recs and some other stuff, but I think I've spammed y'all enough for one afternoon with the ridiculous shit that's brightening up my otherwise gloomy week. I don't know about you, but I certainly feel better about life now! *beams*
