All week long I kept thinking it was one day later than it actually was. So I was very happy when today actually WAS Friday! I'm feeling a little frayed around the edges, so it's a good thing that the work week is wrapping up and that I'll have a few days to tie those frayed edges off.

Last night was helpful for some much needed de-stressing. I met up with [livejournal.com profile] llandaffaz at a new (or new to me) taco and tequila bar. The tacos were yummy and the tequila was plentiful! They had so many to choose from and I intended to make my way through quite a few of them, but then I tried a pomegranate tequila and I was sort of amazed by its deliciousness so I didn't get any further than that. Pomegranate tequila! Who would've thought. I actually feel kind of blasphemous just typing that. But it was SO GOOD! I definitely have to go back, though, and start working my way through their extensive tequila menu. Surprisingly, I don't consider this a hardship at all! *g*

It was also lovely to chat with V. I love it when new fandoms bring not only awesome new sources of entertainment but also wonderful and amazing new people into my life! Good times, indeed!

Tonight after work several of us are heading out to an evening Spring Training game. This thrills me immensely!!! I can't believe that we're more than half way through March and I haven't made it to a spring training game yet. How is this even possible? It's tragic, I tell you! Tonight, though, there shall be baseball! Exciting! And, if the stars align properly, I may even get to see my D'backs in a spring training match up before the month is out. *fingers crossed*

Weekend plans include taking The Nieces to the Renaissance Festival tomorrow, which should be fun. And then on Sunday, [livejournal.com profile] editorzon will be in town! Yay!!! I have no idea what we'll be doing, but I'm sure it will be nothing less than FABULOUS!!!

Speaking of fabulousness, is anyone in Austin catching Muse's show at Stubb's tonight for SXSW? If you are, you HAVE to come tell me all about it! I promise not to be too jealous of you. *g* I just want to hear all about what I'm sure is going to be an AMAZING show!

You know what else is AMAZING? The Hong Kong release of Adam Lambert's CD includes a condom, for your entertainment!!! *laughs and laughs* This is the most awesome thing ever!!!

So, what's amazing and fabulous in your world this weekend?
Ok, where the hell did September come from??? Seriously, I was just making my list of all the things to do in August, and here it is September already! Craziness!

So, due to the Arizona court system fucking with my life, I had to cancel my trip to L.A. this weekend. *sadface* And, wouldn't you know it, the day after I cancel my flight the court finally gets around to vacating the hearing that they insisted I needed to be at on Friday afternoon. Fuckers. But, while I'll miss seeing my girls this weekend, I think it worked out for the best. California is damn hot right now, and I've got plenty of damn hot to deal with here. Plus, Trent Reznor is apparently sick as a dog and canceled tomorrow night's show. There's still no word on whether or not it'll be rescheduled, but even if I had been able to go this weekend, there would have been no NIN show for me.

Instead of L.A. and Trent, this weekend is going to be spent recovering from the insanity of August and hopefully catching up on on the movies I've missed and the massive amounts of t.v. sitting on my DVR. I haven't watched Harry Potter yet!!! How is this even possible??? I don't even know what else I've missed, I just know that I haven't been to the movies in approximately forever!

What else? Oh, yes. This morning I did my first radio interview. First billboards and now radio. I'm not sure I signed up for this. But, in any event, the interview went really well, which probably means that my boss will ask me to do it again. *facepalm*

So, September is shaping up to be a busy work month. Which makes sense, since last month was full of all kinds of non-work related shenanigans. What's happening for y'all?
Rianna was at the house yesterday and she had a new word: shivermadizzle. To her it means getting the chills because of eating or drinking something cold; the ice cream shivermadizzles her. *laughs* Yeah, I don't know where this kid comes up with these things. I just like saying it!

ANYWAY. Speaking of inexplicable shivermadizzley things, I had a crazyass dream last night that someone was calling me to tell me that Jason Manns had unexpectedly died and that there would be a service next week. Seriously, brain, what the fuckity fuck??? This is completely unacceptable as far as dreams go! I have no idea what my subconscious was on, but now I'm ridiculously concerned. Someone please tell me that boy is safe and sound and busy writing ridiculously sappy songs about K. *frets*

Let's move on to happier thoughts, shall we? ONLY FOUR DAYS UNTIL I AM FIVE ROWS FROM ADAM LAMBERT!!!!! Eeeeee!!! And I know that some of you are going to the show at the Staples Center tonight. I want to hear all about it!!! I expect texts and pictures tonight and a full recap tomorrow! I'm counting on you, Hookers. :)

Speaking of the Idols show, I still have two tickets to Monday's show in Glendale, if any of you locals are interested. I should probably post over at [livejournal.com profile] ontd_ai. Anyway, if you're interested, let me know.

In other happy news, I've got tons of stuff happening this weekend. Tomorrow night I'll be going to see Harry Potter. I haven't seen too many reaction posts, so I don't know what people are thinking about it. I can't wait to see it, though! Then on Saturday I'm checking out that new dance studio that's really close to my house. Hopefully it's as awesome as it looks online and I can start fitting in an extra class or two starting next week! I've also got tickets for a matinee performance of Wicked on Saturday. YAY!!! I was so bummed I missed it last time it came through Phoenix, so I am ridiculously excited about seeing it on Saturday! Sunday I've got a workout with the trainer and about a million errands to run. And then on Monday it's the Idols show and ADAM LAMBERT!!!! *bounces* So, really, it needs to be the weekend already!
Well, hello there, JULY!!! You certainly got here fast!

First things first on this hump day: HAPPY BIRTHDAY, [livejournal.com profile] coolwhipdiva!!! You, my dear, are one of the most fiercely intelligent, graceful, self-assured, driven, got-her-shit-together women I know. You are beautiful, inside and out. I respect and admire you so much and I am blessed beyond words to call you my friend. I can't wait to see you on Friday and to spend an entire weekend celebrating your awesomeness! *mwah*

Entirely related to the above, sometimes I think to myself, damn, how did I ever get so lucky to have such an amazing circle of women that I'm just so blessed to call my friends??? And I don't really know the answer to that, but I'm very damn happy that, whatever the reason, I do have some pretty fucking fabulous friends! *loves you all!*

Also related to the above, I am bailing from this pit of hell we call Phoenix tomorrow afternoon for an awesome weekend in Ojai with my girls, enjoying the cooler temps, lazing about the pool, drinking wine, possibly indulging in a massage, and just generally having an amazing, relaxing weekend celebrating the awesomeness of Ms. J. *g* I cannot wait for this to happen!!! Seriously, just the fact that I get to escape these hellish 108 degree temperatures makes me ridiculously happy. But combine that with a long weekend spent in the most fabulous of company, and I'm positively GIDDY!

In other awesome news, and not coincidentally, also related to the aforementioned fabulosity of my friends, *g* [livejournal.com profile] azewewish, amazing woman that she is, has scored us VIP tickets to see Down in L.A. in August!!! *flails wildly* The VIP tickets apparently include a meet and great with the band (!!!), photo/autograph and the like, some merch, early admission to the show, as well as admission to the sound check (!!!). And while she mentioned something about introducing me to Philip and his Cock of Awesomeness, I'm pretty sure that the tickets aren't actually that good. *g* Whatever, man. I am stoked for this!!! *glee*

In less awesome news, I had a client call me a fucking bitch and throw a chair at me yesterday. Thankfully there was prison bars and shatter resistant glass between him and me, but it was still scary as hell to watch him completely lose it like that. And in the crazy, mad rush to meet today's disclosure deadline, I've managed to spill my coffee TWICE! The same coffee. Twice! *facepalm* Can I have my long weekend now, please?
The epically boring legal conference wrapped up early today, and since I'm not expected back in the office until morning, I get to start my weekend early!!! Yay!!!

Not that there's much on the agenda for the weekend. I had hoped for a spa day tomorrow, but I couldn't get that booked until next Saturday. Mom had some minor surgery yesterday, so I'll be hanging close to home to keep an eye on her. The weekend's "to do" list probably won't include much other than sleeping in, reading, relaxing, a workout or two with The Trainer, a bit of laundry, and cooking up a big pot of gumbo. And, really, I'm perfectly ok with exactly this kind of quiet, relaxing weekend!

So, speaking of spending the weekend do nothing more strenuous than cracking open a book or opening a fic tab, I was in need of a new vampire series since I was all caught up with Sherrilyn Kenyon's Dark Hunter series, so I recently picked up J.R. Ward's Black Dagger Brotherhood series. And, it's weird, my reactions to these books are all over the map. I go from really liking the mythology and having the characters start to grow on me, to being completely appalled by something that triggers my, what is in truth pretty damn hard to trigger, feminist-rage button. I'm on the third book of the series, and at this point I feel committed to reading at least the other three that are on my shelf, but I'd like to be able to settle on either really liking them or flat out despising them. But as soon as I think I have my mind made up, something happens to swing me in the other direction. Has anyone else read these books? What did you think? *curious*

And since we're on the topic, here are some decidedly GOOD reads, for your weekend reading pleasure. What? You thought I'd be able to go a whole post without mentioning Adam Lambert??? Don't be ridiculous. *g* Also, I just really want to be able to close these tabs -- having them open for so long is making me twitchy. My inner-Virgo would like a cleaner looking browser, thank you very much. :)

:: But now we're just going to go forward by [livejournal.com profile] ohmyra (Adam/Brad, Adam/Drake, R). This captures all the real messiness and undefined boundaries of relationships. The emotions resonate and the voices all ring true. Good stuff!

:: Complicated Melody by [livejournal.com profile] miss_begonia (Adam/OMC, Kris/Katy, PG-13). Very few authors get the emotional layers of relationships so spot on right for me as she does. I very literally CRIED when I read this.

:: Appetite and Orchestration by [livejournal.com profile] astolat (Adam/Kris, adult). The first is furry-kink. Yes, [livejournal.com profile] editorzon, feel free to laugh your ass off. To say this is not really my kink is an understatement of epic proportions. And yet, this fic was incredibly hot. Go figure. I blame it on Adam. *g* The second is Kris as a substitute teacher! Adorable!!! And still, and this IS important, very, very hot.

Ok, so what else? Tom Brady and Gisele are apparently pregnant. Or, rather, she's apparently pregnant and he's apparently still hot. *g* But, seriously, is that going to be like the most gorgeous baby ever or what??? Talk about hitting the DNA jackpot.

We've got a summer thunderstorm brewing here. Sweet. I've got my trainer due here in about an hour for another round of voluntary torture. Go me! After that I think I will open a bottle of wine, order in some dinner, and get busy with that weekend relaxation!
Oh, sweet crackers with jam, this day just refuses to end! Which means that the longest week in recent memory is STILL NOT OVER! Gah!

On the bright side (there's always a bright side), I only have about an hour's worth of work to do before I go to the airport to pick up [livejournal.com profile] azewewish!!! *bounces* There shall be BASEBALL this weekend!!! And awesome good times with my girl!!! And margaritas!!! (There are always margaritas.) *g*

We have tickets to Saturday's and Sunday's games between my D'backs and her Braves, and I'm hoping that these boys play some good ball because my baseball-lovin' heart cannot take any more sucktasticness! In between the baseball times, we shall get up to no good, as we do. *g* AND! I shall drive her insane with my incessant babble about the undeniable fabulousness of one Adam Lambert and his adorable Pocket Idol! She will hate me and I can't wait! *laughs maniacally*

So, that's what my weekend looks like. How 'bout y'all? Tell me about the no good you're gettin' up to this weekend. :)
I think my internal clock is broken. First, there's my complete inability to go to sleep at a normal hour. Seriously, brain, finally going to sleep at 3 a.m. is NOT HELPFUL when you know we have to get up at 6:30! *bitchface* Then there's the fact that my sense of the passage of time is completely off kilter -- the months seem to be zooming by (Hello, April, where the hell did you come from???), while the individual weeks seem to take forever to get from Monday to Friday! Dear gods, could this week have taken any longer???

But, thankfully, the weekend is finally upon us!!! I've got Big and Exciting Plans for this weekend. Like LAUNDRY!!! I know. I'm sure you're all green with envy. And if that isn't exciting enough, I also get to do my TAXES!!! WooHoo!!! (Haha. Me? Procrastinate much??? *looks innocent*)

The weekend may also include an evening at the Chandler Jazz Festival and some serious catch-up with my t.v. shows. Speaking of t.v. shows though, Supernatural was somethin' last night, eh? It sounds as if most folks' reactions are either of the LOVE it variety or the HATE it Woe, I'm terribly offended variety. Mine is neither. I did love most of it. The parts I loved, the parts I could have done without. )

Erm. What else? Oh, yes, it's TWO DAYS UNTIL OPENING DAY!!!!!!! Have I mentioned that already??? *g* I've missed baseball so much! The D'backs have 18 of their first 22 games at home. (Um. What the hell is with the crazyass schedules this year???) So there will be plenty of baseball in my life SOOOON!!! *glee*
