Finally Friday!

I think my internal clock is broken. First, there's my complete inability to go to sleep at a normal hour. Seriously, brain, finally going to sleep at 3 a.m. is NOT HELPFUL when you know we have to get up at 6:30! *bitchface* Then there's the fact that my sense of the passage of time is completely off kilter -- the months seem to be zooming by (Hello, April, where the hell did you come from???), while the individual weeks seem to take forever to get from Monday to Friday! Dear gods, could this week have taken any longer???
But, thankfully, the weekend is finally upon us!!! I've got Big and Exciting Plans for this weekend. Like LAUNDRY!!! I know. I'm sure you're all green with envy. And if that isn't exciting enough, I also get to do my TAXES!!! WooHoo!!! (Haha. Me? Procrastinate much??? *looks innocent*)
The weekend may also include an evening at the Chandler Jazz Festival and some serious catch-up with my t.v. shows. Speaking of t.v. shows though, Supernatural was somethin' last night, eh? It sounds as if most folks' reactions are either of the LOVE it variety or theHATE it Woe, I'm terribly offended variety. Mine is neither. I did love most of it. I LOVED the Prophet Chuck and his addition to the mytharc. I LOVED (OMG, loved beyond reason!) the scene between Dean and Castiel. I LOVED the laundromat and diner scenes with Dean and Sam. I LOVED that we finally got to peel back some of Sam's layers around the whole demon blood thing. There were fabulous lines throughout the episode ("You should have seen Luke" will never not be funny as hell to me!).
But, really, I could have done without the first 15 minutes of the show. It's not that I didn't think it was funny as hell, because it was. And it's certainly not because I thought the mocking of fandom was undeserved or either personally or collectively offensive. We all know that fandom in general and this fandom in particular is eminently mock-worthy. The pockets of raging insanity not withstanding, I mock because I love. *g* And I certainly fully expect to be mocked in return for MY fannish obsessions. (Hello? Baseball, anyone?) It was just that the first quarter of the show felt horribly self-indulgent. Please, by all means, put in your digs to fandom. But it just seemed excessive to me, to the point that I was bored with the jokes and just wanting the plot to get on with it already. *shrugs* I don't know. Maybe on re-watching, knowing where the plot was going and how much I was going to enjoy the rest of the show, I'd be more tolerant. But, as it was, last night I was just unimpressed with the first part of the show.
Like I said, though, the rest of it I really LOVED!!!
Erm. What else? Oh, yes, it's TWO DAYS UNTIL OPENING DAY!!!!!!! Have I mentioned that already??? *g* I've missed baseball so much! The D'backs have 18 of their first 22 games at home. (Um. What the hell is with the crazyass schedules this year???) So there will be plenty of baseball in my life SOOOON!!! *glee*
