Saturday? Hm. How did that happen? The week was sort of crazy-busy. I spent it wading through court hearings, and meetings, and motions, and trying not to miss deadlines on cases that have gone unattended for way too long before I got them, and, yeah, just BUSY. So this morning I got up in a panic because I thought I was late for work. And, then I realized it was Saturday. *sigh*

So, I spent my morning enjoying several cups of coffee (mmm...) and reading Kris/Adam fic (mmm...). And now I'm getting ready to get my ass kicked by The Trainer. He's really stepped up the boxing in our workouts, which I love! But after Wednesday's workout my arms were so sore that putting on a bra was a challenge! *laughs* Seriously, though, the boxing is so cathartic. I think maybe I should be worried that I have so much anger that apparently needs venting.

Anyway, before I get on with what is apparently my Saturday (YAY!), I thought I'd mention a few things of GREAT IMPORT about this past week.

1. Randy Johnson got his 300th win!!! On Thursday, Randy became the 24th pitcher to notch 300 wins. I am still a little sad that it couldn't happen in a D'backs jersey, but I'm so happy for Randy. Way to go, Randy!

2. We won't speak of that series against the Dodgers, but my D'backs were looking good last night in San Diego. They were playing timely small ball, which they haven't done in a while, so it was very good to see. Also, Justin Upton is really playing well, offensively AND defensively, which is also very good to see! Please to be keeping this up, boys!

3. I got my tickets for the American Idols Tour!!! Eeeee!!! The fabulousness of Adam Lambert and his adorable Pocket Idol are in my future! *bounces*

4. Also, Sam Worthington happened. )

5. Oh, yeah. That Adam Lambert dude? And the other one? Kris or something? I read a few fics that had something to do with them. *handwave* Here are my favorites from this week:

  • faire le linge by [livejournal.com profile] colorofsmoke (NC-17). Cross-dressing. Ridiculously hot. *bites lip* No, really. I don't even think I would have named cross-dressing as a particular kink of mine until I read this.

  • Borrowed and Blue by [livejournal.com profile] miss_begonia (PG-13). Poignant and beautiful. Saturated with emotion. I'll confess: I cried. Seriously, I normally don't do that, but this was just so well done and it just strikes the perfect emotional chords. So good.
Happy Saturday, everyone! It's sunny and beautiful outside. Such a gorgeous day calls for a Happy List!

1. I had a lovely night with The Lovely Nieces last night. I took them to see Monsters v. Aliens, and while Rhyan was only interested in eating fistfuls of popcorn (seriously, she dug into the bag of popcorn with BOTH HANDS!), Rianna really liked the movie. Good times!

2. I just had a kick-ass workout with the Trainer Dude that included about 20 minutes of new boxing combinations. I feel fierce! \o/

3. Watching some of the NFL Draft. Seriously, can Mark Sanchez be any more adorable??? I think the title of Best Dimples of the NFL has just passed from Hines Ward to Mark!

4. Baseball tonight!!! I'll be heading out to Chase Field soon to see the D'backs and the Giants. Randy Johnson is starting for the Giants. It still makes me weep a little on the inside to see him in black and orange, but it'll be good to see him do his thing. Seriously, though, my boys need to get it together already. *shakes head* I'm sure that me being there cheering them on will make ALL the difference today! *beams*

Slackitude

Dec. 27th, 2008 11:01 pm
The past few days have been completely lazy and wonderful. Except for the getting sick part. This head cold has definitely been less than wonderful. *cough sneeze sniffle* But the days of sloth I definitely approve of!

My accomplishments for the past two days have included movie watching (Kung Fu Panda, adorable and hilarious, Brokeback Mountain, which breaks my heart into little bitty pieces every time, and Christian Kane's Love Song, ridiculously cheesy), re-reading "Watchmen" (still incredible), baking yummy cookies (chocolate peanut butter chip...mmmm), and reading wonderful yuletide stories (there shall be recs later). Go me!!! \o/

In other news, I am completely heartbroken that we won't be seeing Randy Johnson in a Diamondbacks uniform next season, when he's sure to win his 300th game. Seriously, I can't believe the D'backs front office didn't make this happen. Randy really wanted to stay and was doing everything he could to meet the team half way, but they just didn't make it work. Which is just tragic. But I take small comfort in the fact that he'll be with the Giants instead of in Dodger blue.

Have I mentioned the cold? Blerg. I feel very much not good. :(
