I was totally planning on complaining to y'all about how annoyingly Monday-ish this day has been, and how I lost the little plastic nose-bridge thing on my glasses and how they've been driving batshit insane all day, and how I still haven't gotten any of my holiday decorations up, and about several other annoyances of various degrees, but then I read that science now shows that happiness is contagious and is spread like a germ through personal contact with our social networks. So instead of bitchin' and complaining, I'm going to infect y'all with my Happy Cooties by giving you a Happy List. *beams*

:: The Arizona Cardinals are going to the playoffs?!?! *boggles* That is so surreal. Yesterday they clinched the NFC West (their first division title since 1975, way before they were in Arizona) and their first playoff appearance in 10 years. Seriously, I'm not really sure what to make of this craziness.

:: Speaking of sports-related happiness, [livejournal.com profile] lunar47 gifted me with a CHRIS SNYDER ICON JUST FOR MEEEEE!!!!!!!! *flails* It's from a picture I took last season and I LOVE IT SO MUCH!!!

Photobucket

CHRIS!!!!! *loves* Man, I miss baseball season. Why can't it be April yet??? Or even just March. I'll take some Spring Training games any time now. *pines for baseball*

Um. Ok, back to the happy. :)

:: Well, since were on the topic of icons of Hotass Catchers, this newly mined gem of Brian McCann is also quite happeh-making:

*smishes him* (Credit [livejournal.com profile] imjs_icons.)

:: Speaking of icons, my roughly two bazillion user pics are making me very, very happy! *glee* I have so many, I don't know what to do with them all! I can still upload over 50 icons. I need more icons!!!

:: I watched the pilot of Leverage yesterday and I really liked it! It was amusing and engaging. And, of course, there was Timothy Hutton and Christian Kane on my t.v. screen. All of this was goodness and I will definitely be tuning in again.

So, flist, help me spread the Happy Germs. What's making you happy today?

*laughs*

I am amused! )

Also, an evening spent watching old Betty Boop cartoons with The Elder Niece is made of awesome. :)

That's it. Even though it's only a little after 1 p.m., I've had it, and I'm hereby declaring this hellacious week DONE.

So, yes. Weekend!!!!!!! Even better. Baseball weekend!!!!!!!!!!!!!! \o/ Last night's game was a good time, despite the loss, which I'm blaming on my ill-advised negotiations with [livejournal.com profile] azewewish. I should know better than to jinx a series like that. *shakes head* In any event, it was good baseball. And my seats were spectacular, right next to the Diamondbacks' dugout. It was good to see Chipper on the field during batting practice. Conor Jackson was looking hot as hell, as per usual. Stephen Drew's defensive game was on fire. And, because Bob Melvin obviously loves me, he put Chris Snyder in for Miguel Montero in the 9th, so that I could see him take an at bat!!! \o/

And the baseball awesomeness continues tonight with [livejournal.com profile] azewewish and our seats on Brian McCann's lap right next to the visitor's dugout so that she can see her boys up close. *g*

In other news, it seems as if the greatly anticipated reunion of Christian Kane and Steve Carlson will NOT be happening after all. At least it won't be happening next weekend in Arizona. The artist Christian was opening for canceled his show. *sadface*

And in much more disturbing news (at least much more disturbing to ME): Heather, the girl who's been doing my hair for over five years, has decided not to come back to Arizona. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! She had been living in Portland for the past two years and traveling to Arizona once a month to see to all her Arizona clients, but I guess this got to be too much, so she's not coming back. This is horrible!!! *wails* I made an appointment with the girl that my mom's been seeing for about as long, so I'm hoping all will be well in the end. But me and my hair are going to miss Heather!!!

Ok. I'm off to do a bit of house cleaning before it's time for MOAR BASEBALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Dear gods. This week has dragged on SO slowly. Work is progressing at a good pace and I've been able to get quite a bit done, but for whatever reason this week has seemed so sluggish. I did catch a bit of a break work-wise today by being relieved of duty with regard to a particularly problematic client. Which also means that I get my October back instead of it being consumed by what was going to be a long (at least 3 weeks) and likely horrifying trial.

And despite the slow pace, tomorrow is in fact Thursday, which, importantly in my part of the world, means the start to an awesome baseball weekend!!! \o/ I've got tickets to all four games of the Diamondbacks' series against the Braves and I'm SO looking forward to the time at the ball park! I'm hoping to get done with court and jail visits and the piles of paperwork on my desk early enough tomorrow to make it in time for batting practice.

Other tidbits for this forever-long week include:

- Generation Kill fic is slowly starting to make it's way to my flist. This is exceedingly happy making!!! Possibly my favorite so far: Home, Fick/Colbert (set after the events on the show) by [livejournal.com profile] wrenette.

- While football normally doesn't make a significant blip on my sports radar until after October, Sports Center is telling me that Brett Favre has been traded to the Jets. Hrm. That's really all I have to say about that. Hrm.

- Jeffrey Dean Morgan will be playing a closeted gay man in Ang Lee's "Taking Woodstock." With Liev Schreiber as a transvestite! And Emile Hirsch! The amount of AWESOMENESS in this one announcement is, well, AWESOME!!!

- Strangely, the venue where Christian Kane (and, apparently, Steve Carlson) will be opening next week for country artist Chris Cagle has stopped selling tickets for the show. The site says only "Sale Stopped." Yesterday when I checked availability they seemed to have plenty of open seats, so I'm not really sure what the "stopped sale" means. I'm telling you, this whole thing is wrought with strangeness. *boggles*

- 20 days until my birthday!!! I'm of the firm belief that one ought to celebrate their own entrance into this world for not just a day but for their entire birth month. *nods* So, I'm officially on Birthday Month Revelry!!! \o/

- The workout with Trainer!Boy today included a good deal of boxing. It was one hell of a workout, but, man, did it ever feel good. Beating the shit outa something is better than therapy! *is fierce*

Hm. Isn't that interesting? I didn't think I'd ever see those two play together.

[livejournal.com profile] annkiri will be joining me for the show. Anyone else up for it? *g*
Comic Con, or maybe just all the travel this month, has really kicked my ass. I've been having to forcibly drag myself through this week. Thank the gods tomorrow is Friday. I have some serious plans for sleeping in and laying about this weekend. *nods*

I've got piles of work to do tonight, but at least I get to do it while watching the Diamondbacks play. They seriously have to make a good showing in this series against the Dodgers. I just tasked [livejournal.com profile] sabrinagb with cheering loudly for my boys, so I'm sure that my presence by proxy will make all the difference in getting this series off on the right foot. *g* Speaking of baseball, today was full of some shocker trades. I can't even imagine the BoSox without Manny. *shakes head*

What else? Oh, yes. [livejournal.com profile] annkiri was here for a brief pit stop yesterday and we had a lovely dinner. She'll be back in a few weeks on her way back to Texas, just in time to join me to see Christian Kane play out in Queen Creek. Yeah. I have no idea why he's playing in Queen Creek, but apparently he is. I've never heard him play, so I'm kinda looking forward to it. Plus? I get Becca for a few days!!! \o/

Now, though, there's D-Backs baseball on my screen, so I'm outa here. :)
