I haven't done a Things Wot Make Me Happy post in a while. So that's what this is going to be.

Work has been crazy busy this week, and I've been in court every day (that's not the happy-making part), but at least it's made the week go by quickly! Which means (THIS would be the happy-making part *g*) that Friday and L.A. and time with my girls and Cassidy playing The Living Room of Acoustic Awesomeness and Mardi Gras shenanigans and the Super Bowl and all the other fantastic things about this weekend are all that nearer to BEING MINE!!!!! *grabby hands*

Ahem. So, speaking of grabby hands (and happy-making of course), I dare you not to wanna just touch (or lick -- yeah that would definitely work too) when you see ( THIS! )

Dear heavens, Mr. Lutz, I highly approve of this new gig of yours. Please feel free to strip down to your underwear anytime the mood strikes. Especially when there's a camera around to capture the moment. *g*

Finally, I've got some fic recs for you! I've had these tabs open for nearly forever, because I've been meaning to rec them and just hadn't had the time to do it. But, these are all great reads and definitely in the happy-making category:

On their first holiday season together, Kris is of the opinion that they’re not an ‘either/or’ kind of household. Lovely holiday schmoopyness with a side order of smut. Awesome!

Physics Makes Us All Its Bitches (Kris/Adam, past Kris/Brad, PG-13), posted anonymously for aiholidaybash: Kris is in Brad, Brad is in Kris, and Adam is in a lot of trouble. Kris-Brad bodyswap fic. Yeah, I know. I almost didn't read it too. But I'm glad I did, because OMG this is so good!

In Lights (Adam/Brad, NC-17), posted anonymously for aiholidaybash: Technically this is their second holidays together, but Brad doesn't really count last year...Last year Brad hadn't been in love. Festive and fabulous! With really hot under-the-mistletoe-sex, which is way better than just under-the-mistletoe-kissing!

Christmas Sabotage (Adam/Tommy, PG) by jeck7: Adam is a little obsessive about accessorizing, even when it's accessorizing a Christmas tree, Tommy is involuntarily enlisted as his decorating assistant, and the mistletoe does the rest. This is like the fic equivalent of sugar plums!!!

Boys Keep Swinging (Kris/Adam, NC-17) by eleanor_lavish for queenbitchfest: In which the author hits every high school movie cliche ever - Adam is slutty and conniving, Kris is adorable and amazing, Brad is snarky and brilliant, and the Jonas Brothers have cameos. An all-boys boarding school AU. I somehow missed this when queenbitchfest stories were first posted, but, goodness, I'm glad I read it now! This is High School AU perfection!

You Break Me Down (Kris/Adam, adult) by audrarose, a sequel to her kissing-pollen fic, The Monroe: Smut! What's not Christmas-y about that???

In less than 24 hours I will be in L.A., commencing all manner of mischief with my girls!!!!! Eeeee!!!!!

But I've got SO much to do ~~today~~ tonight! OMG! Where the hell did this day go???

I have to pack! And because I was weak last night and didn't finish my holiday cards, I need to do that too! And I need to get holiday packages ready to be mailed in the morning! And I need to watch Adam Lambert perform on So You Think You Can Dance! Well, of course, that last one NEEDS to be on tonight's To Do list. And, ack! I NEED TO PACK!!! *panics*

So, since I obviously don't have time for proper happy-making Wednesday recs of any kind, let me direct you to yesterday's fic rec. That story is STILL amazing! I would know, as re-reading that awesomeness is what I did last night instead of finishing my holiday cards like I told myself I was going to do. *facepalm* But it was totally worth it! And the fic completely stands up to multiple readings, which is one of my marks of a damn good story.

Now I'm gonna go back to panicking over everything I've got to do tonight. Ack!!!!!

This is the holiday edition of Things Wot Make Jess Happy:

- My number one holiday treat rec: ( Trader Joe's Candy Cane Joe-Joes!!! )

- For a little extra holiday yumminess, you can get your ( Candy Cane Joe-Joe's dipped in dark chocolate! )

- I love Starbucks' holiday flavors and it was truly one of the best days of my life when they decided to keep Cinnamon Dolce Lattes as a year-round beverage! This year, though, I'm loving their Caramel Brulee Latte. It's just the right amount of sweetness. I think I've had one every day this week! So good!

- My two favorite holiday candies are Williams-Sonoma Peppermint Bark and Terry's Dark Chocolate Orange. I've tried other peppermint barks, but none of them taste as good as Williams-Sonoma. I seriously have like zero self-control when this is around, so I normally buy it and bring it straight to the office, where it lasts about 7.5 seconds before the staff has completely consumed every last bit. And the chocolate orange is just a classic. That one is my mom's favorite, so I normally buy it for her that way I don't have to deal with the temptation of an entire ball of chocolate. I have to have a strategy when it comes to chocolate. *g*

That should be plenty to get y'all in the holiday spirit! And enough calories to pack on a few holiday pounds. Eeek! Sorry 'bout that. Next time I'll do a low-cal version. *g*

coolwhipdiva some Adam/Tommy fic recs. I'll also toss in some Adam/Kris and Adam/Brad for good measure, because it's my firm belief that Adam should be sexed up with as many pretty boys as possible! *g*

Adam/Tommy:

Staged (NC-17) by ruby_fruit: I'm pretty sure coolwhipdiva has already read this one, but I still needed to include it because anything by ruby_fruit is by default fabulous and rec-worthy. I love her Tommy voice, all hard edges and unexpected vulnerabilities. And the montage of on stage tour shenanigans between Adam and Tommy is HOT!

Stardust (NC-17) by jeck7: There are quotes from Velvet Goldmine knitting this fic together, and the story just has such a great texture to it. I'm not even sure if that makes sense as applied to a written work, but that's exactly what I thought when I read it, as if you can mentally run the story through your hands and just like the way it feels. Oh, yeah, did I mention there's some smokin' hot sex as well? 'Cause, yeah, that's important. *g*

Bass Line (R) by janescott: Tommy likes it rough. Do we need to know more? *laughs* But, really, what I liked best about this one is the dynamic between Adam and Tommy, there's so much push and pull and it's just really fun.

Jealousy (NC-17) by llaras: Short, but jealous!Kris is always an awesome thing!

Let Your Sweet Thing Sway (NC-17) by cherrybina: Super hot rimming fic. I don't think I need to say anything else about this. *g*

Adam/Kris:

Future Legend (NC-17) by winterlive: Post-apocalyptic futurefic. More like a post-apocalyptic fairy tale. But whatever you call it, IT IS AMAZING! The world-building is incredible, the character development is spot-on. It's both devastating and gorgeous. If you read only one thing on this list, read this. A.MA.ZING.

Adam/Brad:

Yesterday Upon the Stair (Adult) by phaballa: She wrote this for queenbitchfest and it was originally posted anonymously. But this is so her, I knew immediately that she'd written it. I love her Brad voice best of all! It's a gorgeous character fic. Both her Brad and Adam are brilliantly fucked up. The tone throughout is so vulnerable and tender. The emotions are tangled and imperfect and so real. It's perfect!
