I'm focusing on the positive, so let's talk about awesome, happy-making things! :D
First awesome, happy-making thing: DARREN FREAKIN' CRISS!!!! I got tickets to see him play a show in L.A. on March 26th to benefit the AIDS Project L.A. Awesome music for an awesome cause!!! (There are, by the way, a few tickets still available at that link.)
It's going to be a small show, only 150 tickets being sold. Even better? We ninja-ed tickets a day before they were announced publicly and managed to score MEET AND GREETS WITH DARREN FREAKIN' CRISS!!!! Ahhhhh!!!! Even 24 hours later, I can barely contain my flail!
And betterer still? I get to enjoy all this awesome, happy-makingness with mah girls,
_lisalisa_,
coolwhipdiva and
azewewish!!! So. Much. Happy. Making!!!!
This also means that Darren has given me the perfect excuse for a much needed weekend in L.A. So, heads up to my other L.A. chicas, brunch on Sunday, March 27??? Y/Y? *beams*
Second awesome, happy-making thing: Continuing the theme of awesome music for an awesome cause, Adam's remix of Aftermath will be available later today at his website, and the proceeds will benefit The Trevor Project.
And, more awesomeness! Adam is performing Aftermath on American Idol tonight!!! It's supposed to be a new acoustic version, rather than the remix. Hardly matter, though. Adam will be singing on my t.v. again!!! I am excite!
My t.v. shows have also been awesome and happy making lately. I loved this week's Glee episode. Santana ripped my heart out and I was so happy that the show was explicitly dealing with this relationship. And Burt still is the best dad ever. That was the best Talk in the history of Talks! Kurt and Blaine were everything that is wonderful! And Lauren rules my world! Well done, Show! <333
I saw the White Collar finale last night. BOYSSSSSS!!!!! What are you doing and why you gotta break my heart like that??? Although, I do have to say that Peter's angry face is HOT! Mmmm...rage more, Peter. *g*
I'm also digging American Idol this year. The contestants are all pretty solid, although I don't have any favorites. (My favorite was the fabulous redheaded Bret Loewenstern, who didn't make the top 13.) But I'm loving the judges this year! JLo is just smokin' hot and I love that, although she's kind with her criticism, she's still makes really good observations that obviously come from a place of experience. Smart girl. I like that. And Steven Taylor is the best thing to happen to reality t.v.!!! He's hilarious! I don't understand half the shit he says, but I love hearing him talk!
I'm also totally loving RuPaul's Dragrace. #TeamRaja!!!! And if you haven't seen 1 Girl, 5 Gays, y'all are missing out on some serious hilarity!
More awesome, happy making: my friend Sara is in town from Nashville and I'll be seeing her tonight. Sara is one of my oldest friends ever and I love that, no matter how much time passes, we can always pick up as if we had just seen each other the day before.
And, finally, awesome, happy-making for my peeps in the Houston and Austin areas: Charlene Kaye is playing some shows in Houston, Austin, and San Antonio next week. If you've never heard of Charlene Kaye, you should fix that. She's an amazing singer/songwriter with an absolutely gorgeous voice. I posted a video of her song "Dress and Tie" here. Check it out and then check out one of her shows! She's fabulous!!!
