:: I watched For Love of the Game last night (LATE last night), while I was doing my last minute trial prep. I love that movie so much!!! No matter how many times I watch it, I still WEEP through the last third of the show! It just so perfectly captures everything I love about baseball. *sigh* So good. And it's apparently cathartic as well, because I felt far less stressed after my movie-induced cry.

:: Today wasn't quite the train wreck I was expecting it to be. But the best news of all is that my only two weeks, only two weeks... mantra will soon be only one week, only one week.... Yay!!!

:: My D'backs are off to a really rough start. They've managed to win only one out of three in their first three series at home. They're in San Fransisco tomorrow night and I'm really hoping the change of scenery will do them good. Please do not be breaking my heart this season, boys!

:: In significantly more awesome baseball news, Orlando Hudson hit for the cycle! Ian Kinsler did too! AND went 6 for 6!!! That's some phenomenal baseball!!!

:: I'm reading Hood and so far I'm really liking it!

:: New Bones tonight!!! I've really started to love this show! I may have to do some catch-up watching of past seasons this summer.

:: I get [livejournal.com profile] editorzon on Sunday!!! There shall be drinking, and talking, and laughing, and all manner of shenanigans! Good times!

I'm late to this fannish bandwagon, but I'm really loving it!

Um, can I get an amen to that? Although in my case, it's SF, but the sentiment is the same. In the losing sense and the heart breaking sense. Heh. Oh baseball, you slay me so.

Kinsler's cycle/6 for 6 night was awesome--color me impressed!

Man, Ian is going to have an amazing season!

Heartbreak and elation and all the in between places are some of the greatest things about baseball. But I definitely prefer the elation side of the scale. *g*

Speaking of baseball heartbreak, my heart will never recover from the fact that Randy Johnson is almost sure to get his 300th win in a Giants jersey instead of a D'backs one. I'm counting on you to make sure y'all treat him right. :)

I prefer elation as well. No doubt.

And oh, I worship the Randy Johnson. I personally cannot believe he will get said 300th win in a Giants jersey. And by golly we're gonna be rooting for him! We will treat him well, as he deserves the respect. I will always think of him as a D'Back, though. I don't think I'll get used to him in orange and black, even though I love him in it! ;)

I love "For Love Of The Game" too and still bawl too!

As for the Dbacks (and my beloved Rockies) they are struggling mightily...and I am about ready to put Melvin's head on a stick since he hasn't given Augie much play time...I hope Augie plays when I go to the game Tuesday night against my other team, my Rockies

That may just be my favorite baseball movie, although Bull Durham is definitely up there too. But, man, nothing makes me cry like "For Love of the Game." *sob*

See, I think Melvin uses Augie brilliantly. He's such an awesome utility player, and in those pinch hitting/running situations is where he excels.

Okay, just from the title, I'm assuming that Stephen Lawhead is tackling Robin Hood now? I still maintain his Arthur series is one of the best I've ever read.

Also, Ian's feat? Hasn't been done sine 1890. Dude. I'm so in love with him.

You assume correctly. "Hood" is the first of what is, now at least, a three book series.

I know! Amazing! Ian is just on fire.

Niiice. And pretty timely, considering Russell & Ridley's next movie. *g*

That movie kills me every time. And when I was still somewhat athletic, I'd do that whole "start the mechanism" thing every time to get into my zone. Hee!

I'm still fairly new to Bones, but the last half of this season has killed me! I have far too many shows to watch/tape, and I can't always remember when Bones is on.

It's one of the best baseball movies ever made!

I'm really new to Bones too. But it's so charming! I'm considering catching up with the previous seasons this summer; but, really, I need a new show like a need a hole in the head! *laughs*

I hear ya! I have enough shows as it is, without new ones popping up! I can't keep track of everything.
