Sunday is the golden clasp
Mar. 16th, 2008 04:19 pmWhy is it that the weekend goes by so much faster than the rest of the week? The weekend has been a bit crazy, mostly because my family is INSANE. My house has been full of aunts and uncles and cousins and all manner of family relations since Friday night. I love 'em, but gods can they drive me batshit!
Especially when they turn up the fundamental Christian rhetoric to an obnoxious level. After the 4th or 5th time that I politely but firmly declined my aunt's insistent "invitations" that I go to her church (because she just knows I would love it and all good Christians should go to church, etc., etc.), I finally told her that I wasn't interested because I wasn't Christian and hadn't been for a long time, and "No, I don't really believe everything in the Bible," and "Hi! I'm Pagan!!!" After the expected "get thee behind me, Satan"-type response, they FINALLY dropped the insistence that I go to church. I'm sure they were all busy praying for my condemned soul today, though. *headshake*
Despite the crazy-making, I DO love them and I hadn't seen some of my cousins in a while, so it was good to spend time with the familia. Plus, there was all kinds of SHINY to distract me from the batshit in the form of pretty jewelry! One of my aunts is a consultant for this jewelry company, so I got to go with her to the warehouse and buy all kinds of pretty, shiny things at cost! \o/
Anyway. They've all gone back to their respective homes now, and my house is once again quiet, and me and my condemned soul have been enjoying a lazy Sunday sans church!!! And now I'm getting ready to meet![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)
technosage and her RealSpouse for dinner before we head over to see Flogging Molly. This should be a truly excellent way to wrap up the weekend: good friends, good music, good times!!!
Segues be damned. Reason #735 why I should probably move to L.A. soon: I was just looking at my calendar and realized that of the next five weekends, I'll be in L.A. or the surrounding area, for THREE of them! Week after next is the SPN convention, then I'm taking my niece to Disneyland the 2nd weekend of April, and then I'm heading right back the following weekend for a family wedding. Speaking of Disneyland, anyone want to join me there on Saturday, April 12th? *tempts with Mouse ears*
