not wrapping this in ribbons
Apr. 29th, 2010 04:45 pmOh, dear heavens today was ROUGH. Not Enough Sleep + Menstrual Cramps + Migraine = UNHAPPY ME. But, on the plus side, it is Thursday, which makes tomorrow Friday, which makes the weekend almost here!
Also definitely in the plus column: DAUGHTRY!!! Last night's concert (and the reason for the Not Enough Sleep) was fantastic! It took them a few songs to find their groove, but once they did they rocked right the hell out. I really don't have a deep knowledge of their music -- I know their singles, and I like them. But I really liked some of their deeper tracks, and I totally LOVED their covers of "In The Air Tonight" and "Rebel Yell." And I was completely surprised by how much I liked Lifehouse live. I'm usually a little MEH about their music, but they really shine live. In all, it was good times!
In other plus-worthy news, I took my paralegal-soon-to-be-law-school-grad out to a late-Administrative-Professionals-Yay-You're-Gonna-Graduate-From-Law-School lunch and when we got there we found out that the restaurant (Barrio Cafe for you locals -- it's some of the best Mexican food in the Valley!) was donating 100% of today's sales to Dining Out for Life. That's awesome! Delicious lunch and, besides my waist, it all went to a great cause! *g*
I got a whole bunch of new books yesterday and all I really want to do this afternoon is go home, make a cup of hot tea, and curl up with a book. I'm reading Josh Lanyon's Adrien English series. I only just started the second book, but I'm really enjoying his writing. Unfortunately I still have about two hours of work before I can implement the home/hot tea/curled up with a book plan.
