Take me out to the ball game...

The baseball game last night was a blast. I took my mom, who had NEVER been to a professional game before. I know! Craziness!!!
We had FANTASTIC seats, behind home plate. We were SO close I could practically pat catcher Chris Snyder on the ass. (By the way,
azewewish, this is about where our seats will be for the Friday night game of the D-Backs/Braves series.)

Doug Davis was on the mound and it was good to see him healthy and back on his game.

It was a scoreless game into extra innings, with Chad Tracey finally breaking it open with a homer into right field in the bottom of the 10th. Win!!! Which, of course, was awesome. Seriously, though, these boys have to find their way back to their offensive game of April. They left 12 runners on base and made me want to weep more than once!
But it was a good game! I had a blast!
This is my HAPPY FACE!

My mom had a good time too, although it probably would have been a more exciting game for her had there been more happening offensively.
And, in a happy coincidence, I ran into Judge Canby, the Ninth Circuit judge I clerked for. He and his wife were sitting in the section next to us. I went over and we chatted a bit and made plans to get together for lunch soon. He's seriously good people. Brilliant, yet grounded and just genuinely NICE. It was really good to see him.
After the game we stuck around for the fireworks, which were set to "scary" music. I seriously could not figure out why we were hearing the "SCREECH, SCREECH" music from "Psycho" until after the show the announcer said something about Friday the 13th! Ha! The poor kid sitting next to me was traumatized.

Today I'm heading over to IKEA, which is always an adventure in taming the compulsion to buy everything I see! Then later it's "Reefer Madness." There also needs to be some housecleaning and laundry in there somewhere. I know. The excitement of my Saturday is almost overwhelming! *g*
