The weekend was made of awesome! [livejournal.com profile] azewewish and [livejournal.com profile] _lisalisa_ were both in town for a weekend of spring training baseball. [livejournal.com profile] technosage joined us and we saw the Diamondbacks play the Cubs on Saturday afternoon and on Sunday we trekked out to Peoria to watch the Padres and the White Sox. The weather sunny and warm and perfect for baseball. The hotdogs were great as only hotdogs at a ballgame are. The beer was cold. The company was, of course, stellar!

After Saturday's game we came back to my house where some of my family joined us for Carne Asada and Margaritas (TM). The food was yummy and plentiful. Brenda's margaritas were also yummy and plentiful! The company was again stellar! We sat outside drinking and talking and having a great time until well into the night.

On Sunday we headed to The Farm at South Mountain for brunch before the game. I've got to remember how much I like this place. The food was great. Also, I'm firmly convinced that all Sundays should start with lots of coffee and really good Bloody Marys. *nods*

Between baseball, eating and drinking, all of which we did a lot of this weekend, we watched a good portion of season one of Brotherhood. Which, for the record, if you're not watching...well, why the hell aren't you watching??? This is really fucking good television. Seriously, the best acted, most complexly written, angst-filled brother relationship on t.v., no question. The show is full of fucked up, issue-ridden, layered and interesting characters. Like I said, good t.v. I was completely hooked after two episodes; I think we managed to get Lisa hooked on it too. I finished watching season one today and now I can't wait for the second season to come out on DVD. *is impatient*

So, yeah. Awesome weekend filled with baseball and good food and good t.v. and, best of all, really good friends. *smishes y'all* Anytime, chicas, mi casa es su casa, (despite what the sign on my wall says *g*).

Today, unfortunately, was slightly less than awesome, not only because everyone was gone, *sadface*, but because I woke up with god-awful stomach pain that I'm pretty sure is gallstones. I finally gave in and took some industrial strength pain meds, which did in fact knock the pain back, but which also knocked me right the hell out until early afternoon. Luckily I didn't have anything urgent to attend to and my calendar was pretty clear all day. By the time I emerged from the pharmacological induced mental fog this evening, the pain decided on an encore performance. Not on, body, not on at all. I've taken more pain meds and will probably pass right the hell out again any minute now. On tomorrow's agenda: get health insurance.

Also on tomorrow's agenda, assuming, of course, that I'm no longer in pain and/or passed out from pain meds, I'd kind of like to check out the Hotel Cafe Tour that will be in town tomorrow night. Any local folks interested in joining me?

Other good things happening soon:
- Possibly more spring training games before the month is up. Baseball!!!
- Flogging Molly show on Sunday!!! \o/
- Getting back to the dance studio this week and starting a new bellydance class next week.
- Supernatural convention in L.A. in about two weeks with some of my favorite people on the planet (and NO, I do not mean either Jared or Jensen *g*)!!!

Ok. There are more good things, I'm sure of it. But I'm now about >this< close to passing out. Thankfully, though, the pain is back under control. I shall now take myself off to bed and hope that my body gets back with the program tomorrow morning.

Have we talked about gallstones before? Get that sucker OUT Jess. The surgery is so easy...I had it done on a Saturday and was getting my nails done on Wednesday. That pain is unbearable, I really urge you to get to a doctor.

My mom just had it done back in November -- I think that's when you mentioned how happy you were you had done the surgery. I really do need to get to a doctor. I don't have health insurance right now, though. So I have to get that squared away before I go scheduling any surgery. I'm on it though, because this is happening too often for my liking.

I'm researching health insurance today. Nothing like a little gallbladder attack to add some motivation to this process!

I miss you too, baby! Any time spent with you is always FABULOUS! *mwah*

*squeezes you*
Thank you so much for the fabulous weekend, babe. I look forward to our future baseball weekends!!

I'm so sorry to hear you're not feeling stellar. I hope it's not as painful today. Perhaps you should visit urgent care?

And finally, TOMMY!!!!!!!!!!! MICHAEL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! How I adore your f*cked up relationship. And yes, I bought S1 on Amazon yesterday. LOL

*hugs you back* The weekend was so much fun! There definitely has to be more baseball weekends this summer!

I called the court and rescheduled my hearings today, mostly because I'm still brain-foggy from the pain meds. The pain itself, though, is thankfully better today.

OMG, Lisa, I finished watching S1 yesterday and IT'S SO GOOD! There's this scene, I think it's ep 7...BEST BROTHER MOMENT EVAR!!!! I can't wait for S2!

Yuck on the stomach pain. I hope you feel better soon.

Brotherhood is amazing, although it's weird to me to see Jason Isaacs without a British accent, he does bring the sexy evil so well.

And yay, baseball! I'm glad you friended me for many reasons, one of which is when I go on about baseball I have someone who won't mind reading about it. (My love is about 30% dedicated to Jeter and A-Rod being incredibly cute and slashy together, but 70% love of the sport and the history and all that stuff.)

Oh, and if you have any baseball book recommendations, I am doing a lot of baseball reading right now. I have a good stack, but I'm always up for learning about more.

*debates whether to ping you with Derek and Alex or Jason Isaacs as an icon*

I have so much love for Brotherhood! I'm super excited to have other's on my flist to share the Caffee brother love with!

And BASEBALL!!!! I just went a little crazy filling up the rest of the month with spring training games! But I realized the Dodgers are playing in Arizona next week and the Dodgers have been my team since my dad took me to see one of their World Series games back in 1981, long before Arizona had a team. :)
