Ok, it's been about 20 hours or so since the show and I think I've sufficiently pieced together enough of the itty bitty blown bits of my mind in order to make a post about it. In short, MUSE WAS FUCKING AMAZING!!!
I don't even know where to start, everything about this show just blew me away. Let's start with their stage set up and light show, which was like a visual deluge with so many sensory inputs it was almost impossible to take it all in. The stage was set up with three huge towers that served as multidimensional screens for the visual fireworks. And then for some of the numbers the guys would each play from a platform that rose about halfway up each of the three towers, with lights still being played off of the top and bottom portions, so that it looked as if they were suspended in air. Ahhh. There's no way to even describe what was going on visually during this show! Usually, at some point or many points during most live shows, I'll end up with my eyes closed just kinda riding the energy of the music and the crowd for a while. That was just not happening during this show! The light show was such an integral part of the energy of the show that there was no way to shut it out and still be tuned in to the same vibe. It was insane!
I took some pictures, which don't even come close to capturing the light and laser effects, but might give you a better idea of the tower stage set up I was trying to describe.

Add all of that visual amazingness to what may just very well be the BEST live performance I've ever heard and you have me with about a million sparkly pieces of my completely blown mind! Seriously, I have no idea how three guys can produce that much sound! Matt is like a man possessed on the stage. And, dear gods, his voice is unreal! They opened the show with "Uprising" and then "Resistance," but I was so happy that they played a lot of older stuff too: "Hysteria," "Supermassive Black Hole," "Starlight," "Plug In Baby," their cover of "Feeling Good." Eeee!!! So much good stuff! From The Resistance they also did "Unnatural Selection," "Guiding Light," and "Undisclosed Desires." And, um, that's all I can remember! But if you're really curious I'm sure you can find the full set list online. For the encore they did "Stockholm Syndrome" and "Knights of Cydonia" and one other that I can't remember. But, and I may have already mentioned this, FUCKING AMAZING!!!

AMAZING SHOW!!! Easily one of the top shows I've ever seen! Blew. My. Fucking. Mind!!!
