See, I put the fact that Randy isn't in a D'backs jersey this year squarely on the shoulders of Arizona's front office. I don't blame Randy at all. He was more than willing to compromise, but the front office seemed unwilling to make something work early enough in the off season. And in the end, they ended up paying Jon Garland even more than what Randy was asking for.
I was not happy with the few fans who booed him yesterday. Regardless of business decisions, there should be some loyalty when a player has given so much to an organization. Randy more than deserves the standing ovation that I and others gave him yesterday when he came off the mound.
And while I really don't want to see him racking up the wins he needs to reach 300 against the D'backs, I wish he could have had a better outing, especially since we couldn't even take advantage of his pitching struggles.
