I did as little as I could get away with this weekend. I hadn't had a weekend of just doing nearly nothing in a long time. And that's exactly what this weekend was, and it was lovely.

Friday I did go out dancing with some friends from the studio. We had a great time. Danced until our feet protested the abuse. But with the exception of Friday night, the theme for this weekend was SLOTH.

The rest of the weekend was spent catching up on my t.v. shows (Friday Night Lights owns my soul; also, I finally got around to watching Reaper and I like it!); doing a bit of reading (my "to read" list is seriously out of control); occasionally napping (I'm blaming it on travel exhaustion); and watching football (although the plans to make it to the sports bar never materialized as it would have required me moving from my sofa and that clearly was not going to happen this weekend).

It was the perfect lazy weekend and exactly what I needed after the craziness of the last couple of weeks.

Great Job: Chocolate and Porn for You! made by [livejournal.com profile] fynn_fisch:

This is my all around "Way to Go!" "You rock!" "Congratulations!" icon -- because what's better than chocolate and porn for a job well done, any job well done? So much better than a gold star, if you ask me. Also, it just makes me laugh.

Sanctuary from [livejournal.com profile] khushi_icons:

This icon is all about my spirituality and the places where I find the greatest connection to the Divine. When I get too far into my own head, time spent outdoors serves to center and ground me in a way nothing else really does. It's in Nature and her cycles that I've found my "sanctuary," my "church," if you will, the place where I can go to connect and interact with the Divine. It's also the icon that I most use when writing about my time spent at Diana's Grove, in which case "sanctuary" refers more to "safe place."

Sorting Seeds from [livejournal.com profile] khushi_icons:

Last year's Mystery School involved the story of Psyche and Eros. One of the initiatory tasks that Aphrodite put to Psyche involved sorting the seeds of her life, deciding what to discard, what to harvest, what to plant for a future harvest, etc. Shortly after working with that part of the story, I came upon this icon and it reminded me of that work. This is the icon I use when talking about choices, discernment, sorting through the "seeds" -- the individual choices, decisions, habits, connections, relationships, etc. that make up the whole of my life.

JDM's Hands by [livejournal.com profile] lostmemento:

First, it's Jeffrey Dean Morgan. In a word, HOT. Second, it's Jeffrey Dean Morgan in a suit. JDM's scruffy, sexy self in a conservative, blue business suit. My brain melts. The juxtaposition of JDM's raw sexuality all properly made up in a conservative business suit is just outrageously hot. And, third, it's his HANDS. Guh. Yeah, I may have a bit of a hand kink.

[SPN] Dean in AHBL2 by [livejournal.com profile] scarlett_o:

Ok. So two Sweet Charity auctions ago I successfully bid on the graphic skills of the lovely [livejournal.com profile] scarlett_o. She made me several icons (including this one). She also made me a gorgeous journal header that I've never uploaded because I FAIL at anything requiring more than the barest technological ability and even though she provided me with very detailed instructions on how to make the changes to my journal I've been scared that I'd somehow break something (irrational, I KNOW), so her lovely work is still sitting in my photobucket account where it is sadly not getting any of the love that it so very much deserves. Anyhow. This icon. Dean. Oh, Dean. He broke my heart in these first scenes of AHBL2. But here he's looking at Bobby and his annoyance is so clear even past all the heartbreak. Because of that this has turned into my "I'm annoyed with you, the world, this day, etc." icon.

[FNL] Coach and Riggins in the Rain by [livejournal.com profile] neversince:

I was late to the Friday Night Lights bandwagon. In fact, it wasn't until the Season One DVD came out this summer that I watched any of it. This show, though, completely owned my soul by the time I finished watching the pilot. And, while I really like, to various degrees, all the characters, my LOVE for Coach Taylor and Tim Riggins is HUGE. Seriously. And I loved this scene with Coach telling Riggins to stop blaming himself for Jason's injury and then making him walk home. Also, wet Riggins. What's not to love?

Insecurity Makes My Ass Look Fat by [livejournal.com profile] scary_lullabies:

This icon is a recent find. But it made me laugh when I saw it. It also reminded me of something that I've been thinking about since the last time I was at the Grove when it came up for me in ritual in a way that I hadn't really considered before: that my insecurities are really very self-indulgent and that they don't serve anyone, not me, not my work, not my relationships or my community; and that insisting on keeping them around and/or letting them get in the way of what I need/want to do is really very selfish. And while I don't expect to be able to rid myself of them entirely, this icon injects a bit of humor and perspective whenever my insecurities are feeling bigger and more of an obstacle than they really should be.
