Let me sum up.

The last six days have been a whirlwind of airports and airplanes and fangirls and hilarity and drunkenness and way too little sleep and great music and awesome hookers and general fabulousness. But, really, there is too much for a real post. So, let me sum up. With bullet points!

Thursday:
  • After zero sleep in Austin, an o'dark thirty flight back to Phoenix, a mad rush to finish packing, and another trip to the airport, [livejournal.com profile] technosage and I arrived in L.A. for WinCon and, as is to be expected, immediately hit the bar where many fangirls were met, a long over due hug was finally delivered in person to [livejournal.com profile] poisontaster, and, naturally, drinks were, well, drunk.

  • Later that night we watched Supernatural with [livejournal.com profile] wrenlet and several other fangirls who I was too damn tired to remember, but who were fantastic. *waves* And my love for this show was again affirmed -- how much do I love that they didn't go to the easy Dean as Dad place, but instead we got to see a glimpse of regret and even wistfulness. Good job, show! Also, kids are creepy. My biological clock was effectively silenced by this episode.

  • At this point I had been awake for over 42 hours and I was beyond exhausted. Apologies to the fangirls still squeeing in the room when I hit my wall of exhaustion head first and passed right the hell out.

Friday:
  • I'm not sure if I really remember having a Friday. I'm pretty sure there was drinking involved. And the consumption of alcohol perhaps started quite early in the day. This may account for my very fuzzy memory of Friday in general.

  • What I do remember, however, was joining the WinCon festivities Friday night for karaoke and, unsurprisingly, even more drinking. Thankfully, none of us were drunk enough to actually sing. Instead we mocked. Which, really, is what we do best.

Saturday:
  • I attended some panels on Saturday, which, apparently is part of what one does at these things. *shrugs* All I knew was that [livejournal.com profile] azewewish was on a panel on ethics and [livejournal.com profile] technosage was supposed to be the Paula of the American Fic Idol panel. Neither of these things could I bear to miss! *g* I'm pretty sure military credos were abused and that ethics were only barely covered, but I never say no to more talk of the ever Hotass John Winchester. Also, I shall never think of leopards the same way again. Very unfortunate images are forever seared in my brain. But it was the funniest damn thing ever. I laughed until my face hurt!

  • That night [livejournal.com profile] technosage, [livejournal.com profile] annkiri, [livejournal.com profile] just_katarin and I joined [livejournal.com profile] azewewish, [livejournal.com profile] idiosyncratic, [livejournal.com profile] editorzon, [livejournal.com profile] antheia, and [livejournal.com profile] sabrinagb for Mexican food and margaritas at El Guapo. There were many t.v. screens featuring baseball, football, and other assorted sports broadcasts. If I lived in L.A., I could possibly lose many weekends in that place. The ASU/Washington game was on and there was such a boisterous group of ASU fans there, it felt as if I never left home. Although, they really should learn that the cow bell is best in moderation. *g* The food was tasty, the margaritas were good, and the company was stellar! In all, good times!

  • The night was capped off with an excursion to the Pleasure Chest where the Fist of Doom scared us all and the Vibrator to Rule All Vibrators was conclusively identified and where inappropriate commenting and fondling of merchandise may or may not have occurred.

Sunday:
  • There were some attempts to sleep in late and perhaps even nap as my Partying Like A Rock Star Ways were by this time colliding with the fact that I am apparently old (gods, when did that happen???), resulting in a very tired and cranky me.

  • The down time was a good thing, as it left me ready for Jo's Mojitos of Kick-Assness later that night! \o/ Said mojitos were had at the lovely [livejournal.com profile] coolwhipdiva's, who graciously hosted Sunday night's festivities (thank you, J!!! Seriously, you rock!), which included [livejournal.com profile] azewewish (who I love almost as much as I love Jo's mojitos!) -- Just kidding, Brenda! More! I love you more than the mojitos! Really. *g* -- [livejournal.com profile] idiosyncratic (who has amazing mojito fu), [livejournal.com profile] editorzon (to whom much thanks is owed for both shuttling us around and for coordinating the endless supply of yummy food stuffs), [livejournal.com profile] sabrinagb (also to whom much thanks is owed for driving us all over L.A.), [livejournal.com profile] technosage, [livejournal.com profile] annkiri, [livejournal.com profile] poisontaster, [livejournal.com profile] wendy, [livejournal.com profile] wrenlet, [livejournal.com profile] tsuki_no_bara, [livejournal.com profile] soylahtayplease, [livejournal.com profile] without_me, [livejournal.com profile] aproposofnothin, [livejournal.com profile] meredevachon, and [livejournal.com profile] stormcloude. In sum, an awesome group of peoples converged on J's home for what turned out to be a fantastic evening!

  • We started by getting caught up on the most recent Friday Night Lights episode. I can't imagine loving this show more, and yet, every week I do. Landry is made of awesome. Coach is the best thing in jeans. And Riggins is still a hot ass. This show WINS!

  • But the highlight of the evening (other than Jo's mojitos, of course) was Jason Manns, who needs to play for us in J's living room all the time! How can we make this happen??? He was fantastic. And such a good sport when faced with a room full of women. Also, he's perhaps the most adorable man on the planet.

  • In all, WinCon was fantabulous! I was super pleased to be able finally meet and deliver in-person hugs to [livejournal.com profile] poisontaster and [livejournal.com profile] mona1347, *smish*, and to again see [livejournal.com profile] wendy, [livejournal.com profile] wrenlet, and [livejournal.com profile] annkiri, who had just partied like rock stars with me the week before! Also, I had the best roommate evar in [livejournal.com profile] the_ellcrys. *waves* (There were many others who I wished I could have had more time to spend with. [livejournal.com profile] amara_m, [livejournal.com profile] scarlett_o...I'm lookin' at you. Alas, my powers of time control suck.)

  • Hookers, you get your own bullet point because I love y'all just that much! You guys are made of pure, unadulterated AWESOMENESS in every way and I can't wait to see all of you again on the 4th. *blows kisses*

Monday/Tuesday:
  • After a late night of Hookers and mojitos, my 4:30 a.m. wake up call came entirely too damn quickly. Guh. My sleep deficit just keeps growing. LAX was a madhouse. But eventually we were back on a plane on our way to Phoenix where we quickly boarded another plane to Nashville.

  • Nashville is made of win. So is [livejournal.com profile] way2busymom who we met up with soon after checking in to our room. She was in charge of any food plans and she fulfilled her duties exceedingly well. Monday she took us to a small little barbecue place that was quite yummy and this morning's brunch consisted of the most delicious pancakes I've had in like ever. There were about three dozen different pancake flavors to choose from. I had the Caribbean pancakes with pecans, bananas, and coconut -- they were so good, it might be worth another trip to Nashville just for the pancakes!

  • Before today however, we were ill informed about the greatness of Nashville pancakes, and were actually in town to catch Steve's show. We had a fantastic time! There was, perhaps, some drunkenness involved. Maybe. Even though the tequila was served in dixie cups and was quite possibly the most vile shit I've ever drank. Blech. But Steve? Steve rocked, as per usual. Allie will likely be able to tell you what he played, because she actually takes notes. *shakes head* Also, Steve brought Jerrod Niemann with him, who I had seen about three weeks ago when he was in Phoenix. I loved Jerrod then, but no one knew who I was talking about when I squeed about how fantastic he was. Now, though, [livejournal.com profile] technosage and [livejournal.com profile] way2busymom are my witnesses to both his musical talent and to his HOTNESS, and to the fact that he perhaps gets a little friendly once you get him drunk. *g* He's adorable, though. We're definitely keeping him. Also, he gave Steve a lot of shit about his demographic being almost entirely female (I think there were only two men in the bar who weren't either performing or tending bar); so for the heckling Jerrod also definitely wins.

Good times, people. Good times have definitely been had. \o/ Now, though, I'm home, finally, and I am soooo looking forward to sleeping in my own bed tonight. Gods, I feel as if I could sleep for days.

There's been some friending of folks I met this past week. *waves* If I missed you, please stop by and say hi. The alcohol, and the tired, and the getting old, have wreaked havoc with my memory, so I'm sure I'm missing some folks. But I thought you were all fabulous and want to keep every one of you!

[identity profile] azewewish.livejournal.com 2007-10-17 02:24 am (UTC)(link)
There is not enough space in the WORLD to contain my love for you. Even if I did almost lose out to mojitos. ;)

OMG IS IT THE 4TH YET!?!?!!!

[identity profile] moonmelody.livejournal.com 2007-10-17 02:46 am (UTC)(link)
Jo's mojitos were fabulous, but their fabulousness dims in comparison to yours, baby! Mwah!

It needs to be November 4th now, 'cause I'm missing you like mad already!

[identity profile] azewewish.livejournal.com 2007-10-17 02:55 am (UTC)(link)
You should have told Steve he needed to bring Jerrod with him. I swear, it seems like everyone on the planet's seen the man live except for me.

*watches the clock impatiently*

[identity profile] moonmelody.livejournal.com 2007-10-17 03:07 am (UTC)(link)
Jerrod is really fantastic. And, funny, his newest song is also called "The One Who Got Away." He and Steve insisted it was coincidence, but it seems to me that they're recycling song titles. :) But, yes, Steve needs to bring him to L.A. He's just as good at heckling Steve as y'all are! :D

[identity profile] jtigermoon.livejournal.com 2007-10-18 05:41 pm (UTC)(link)
It sounds like you had a blast. I shall sit here and be envious. ;-)

[identity profile] wendy.livejournal.com 2007-10-17 02:26 am (UTC)(link)
Jess, I demand that you move closer. I need hugs from you all the time!

[identity profile] moonmelody.livejournal.com 2007-10-17 02:48 am (UTC)(link)
*hugs you tight*

I need to win the lottery so that I can spend all my time flitting between Dallas and L.A. :D

[identity profile] wendy.livejournal.com 2007-10-17 02:52 am (UTC)(link)
Hahaha, I just told my mom today that I need a summer home in NY, a winter home in LA and I'll stay in Texas for spring and fall.

She just went "mmmhmmm" and changed the subject.

[identity profile] moonmelody.livejournal.com 2007-10-17 03:08 am (UTC)(link)
I see nothing wrong with your plan. :D

[identity profile] ladymairwen.livejournal.com 2007-10-17 02:34 am (UTC)(link)
Creepy kids! *shudder*

[identity profile] moonmelody.livejournal.com 2007-10-17 02:51 am (UTC)(link)
"I want ice cream now, mommy." So. Creepy.

[identity profile] ladymairwen.livejournal.com 2007-10-17 04:08 am (UTC)(link)
The rattling at the bathroom door... ugh.

"What are you doing, Mommy? Let me in, let me in, let me in!"

I'm still envious of y'all for getting to see Steve last night (I wouldn't have been nearly as pissy about getting up so early if it'd been for him). And Jason is so awesomely adorable... I just want to keep him in my pocket.

But neither of them are as awesome as you, sweetie! And I'm so glad I got to meet you. *hugs*

[identity profile] moonmelody.livejournal.com 2007-10-17 02:53 am (UTC)(link)
Steve's lucky we love him...'cause damn that was an early wake up call.

Ahhhh. *blush* I'm so glad to have met you too! :)

[identity profile] way2busymom.livejournal.com 2007-10-17 02:55 am (UTC)(link)
I had a BLAST!!!!! What are you gonna talk me into next????

*hugs you & does not mention the thing I'm banned from discussing, even though I am STILL thinking about it*

[identity profile] moonmelody.livejournal.com 2007-10-17 03:12 am (UTC)(link)
Vegas!!!!! That's what's next. As soon as Steve figures out when he's playing there, we need to make plans for VEGAS! :D

Also, you're failing at focusing on the hotness. I'm just sayin'.

[identity profile] scarlett-o.livejournal.com 2007-10-17 02:59 am (UTC)(link)
We definitely fail at hooking up (damn faulty time control powers). Aside from the quick hug on Friday I didn't see you until we happened to be at the airport at the same time, but I was starting to feel plague ridden at that point and would have been no fun whatsoever.

Hopefully we'll manage to hook up at another time. *hugs*

[identity profile] moonmelody.livejournal.com 2007-10-17 03:13 am (UTC)(link)
I fail. I was so exhausted at the airport, I could hardly remember my own name. There definitely needs to be another time.

[identity profile] scarlett-o.livejournal.com 2007-10-17 03:21 am (UTC)(link)
Well at least you had good reason to take such an ass early flight. [livejournal.com profile] eponin10 and I are just morons who fail at picking normal flights.

There will definitely have to be another time. Also I know you have my cell so feel free to give me a call and at least we can chat on the phone. *hugs*

[identity profile] coolwhipdiva.livejournal.com 2007-10-17 03:18 am (UTC)(link)
Damn woman, how were you even coherent by Sunday night, much less Monday? I'm so glad you had such a good time, and I loved having you at my house!!!! *bounces*

And Jason said we're the best crowd to play for, so I'm hoping for more concerts in my living room sometime in the future, lol.

See you on the 4th!

[identity profile] moonmelody.livejournal.com 2007-10-17 04:37 am (UTC)(link)
So. Very. Tired. But I have court first thing in the morning, so I actually had to get some work done before I could launch myself in to bed. I had a blast, though, so it was worth the lost sleep!

Thank you so much for hosting the festivities on Sunday! Your ideas are fabulous (as is your bathroom -- I may just be making plans to move into your bathroom *g*)!

Jason was fantastic! Living room concerts are the best! \o/

THE 4TH!!!! :D

[identity profile] amara-m.livejournal.com 2007-10-17 05:49 am (UTC)(link)
I swear, I don't know where the weekend went...One minute it was Thursday night and I had all the time in the world...then it was time to go home.

How does this happen?

[identity profile] moonmelody.livejournal.com 2007-10-17 05:31 pm (UTC)(link)
I know, right? Where did the weekend go? Next time we'll definitely have to plan better. :)

[identity profile] idiosyncratic.livejournal.com 2007-10-17 04:37 pm (UTC)(link)
You and the other hooker should plan a trip out for the Superbowl (the Pats are so going and WINNING!) and we'll set up a hooker outing to El Guapo for the game!

And omg, I miss you like crazy, baby!!! It NEEDS to be the 4th already!!!! *clings*

[identity profile] moonmelody.livejournal.com 2007-10-17 05:30 pm (UTC)(link)
But the Superbowl is being played HERE! I'm thinkin' y'all need to haul your Hooker selves to Arizona for Superbowl weekend! \o/

I miss you too!!! *looks at calendar* 2 1/2 weeks!!!

[identity profile] idiosyncratic.livejournal.com 2007-10-17 05:45 pm (UTC)(link)
You are smoking some SERIOUS crack if you think I'm going to drag my ass to a city hosting the Superbowl unless I've got tickets to said game!

[identity profile] moonmelody.livejournal.com 2007-10-17 05:49 pm (UTC)(link)
*puts down the crack pipe*

Heh. You're right. And if I have any sense at all, I'll definitely be making plans to get the hell out of Dodge that weekend. El Guapo is sounding like an excellent plan after all! :D

[identity profile] idiosyncratic.livejournal.com 2007-10-17 05:52 pm (UTC)(link)
Damn skippy! *g* We'll make a weekend of it.

[identity profile] mysanal.livejournal.com 2007-10-24 08:48 pm (UTC)(link)
You just need to avoid the west valley like the plague of drunken idiocy it will be. ;-D

[identity profile] mysanal.livejournal.com 2007-10-24 08:48 pm (UTC)(link)
Hell, maybe I'll come live with you... ;->

[identity profile] hewet-ka-ptah.livejournal.com 2007-10-18 01:56 am (UTC)(link)
Your post is filled with squee! I'm so happy for you my friend.

[identity profile] moonmelody.livejournal.com 2007-10-18 04:55 am (UTC)(link)
The past two weeks were indeed very squeeful! Wish you coulda been there! :D

How are you doing, by the way?

[identity profile] mysanal.livejournal.com 2007-10-24 08:48 pm (UTC)(link)
*Icon Love!*

[identity profile] editorzon.livejournal.com 2007-10-18 06:51 am (UTC)(link)
There can, in fact, be such a thing as too much cowbell. Just sayin...

One vibrator to rule them all! Wouldn't it make for a great slogan?

I am seriously in awe of you darling. I have no idea how you manage to be so incredibly awesome and do all that stuff and still be such a gorgeous, wonderful human being, but you pull it off beautifully.

See you soon!!!

[identity profile] moonmelody.livejournal.com 2007-10-18 06:09 pm (UTC)(link)
Dude. The cowbell was truly excessive.

Eeee!!! "One vibrator to rule them all" should be an icon!

Awwww. *blushes* You, my dear, are too kind! But my crazy-makin' ways have brought you and the other Hookers into my life and for that I am very happy indeed! *hugs*

The 4th!!!! :D

[identity profile] editorzon.livejournal.com 2007-10-19 01:06 am (UTC)(link)
Hmmm, wonder if we could get someone to make that into an icon for us. *eyeballs Jo*

I am most happy you have such crazy-makin ways cause life would be a hell of a lot less fun without having you around. I have a feeling Hooker gatherings from now on will feel very incomplete without you and Allie.

[identity profile] mona1347.livejournal.com 2007-10-18 03:05 pm (UTC)(link)
I miss everyone SO MUCH! *clings*

[identity profile] moonmelody.livejournal.com 2007-10-18 06:10 pm (UTC)(link)
MONA!!!! Why can't it always be WinCon??? RL isn't nearly as much fun. *pouts*

[identity profile] wrenlet.livejournal.com 2007-10-20 11:16 pm (UTC)(link)
DITTO, OMG. *weeps*

[identity profile] mysanal.livejournal.com 2007-10-24 08:54 pm (UTC)(link)
Well! Haven't you been busy? ;->

*Dean as Dad place. Yes, I was mucho happy they didn't take the cliche way out. Excellently done. Kids *are* creepy - I keep telling everyone and they don't believe me. ;-D

*"I attended some panels on Saturday, which, apparently is part of what one does at these things. *shrugs*"

Yes, many of us attend panels at Cons, but it's not required, as long as you're having fun. ;-)

*"the Vibrator to Rule All Vibrators" - you really have to tell me more about this. ;-D

*"Hookers"? Explain please.

*Your liver called and wants you to get a backup for weekends like this one. ;->

I'm glad you had such a fantabulous first convention! *HUGS*
