For the real world just don't feel right

There are things in this life that I just don't understand. Like why my Blackberry is only delivering messages every couple of hours so that they all arrive in large, overwhelming clumps of things I need to give my attention to? And why, even though I've been sitting in front of my computer for hours, I still haven't managed to get a single item crossed off my to-do list today? And why haven't I won the lottery so that I can have several thousand dollars of immediately available disposable income to buy Diamondbacks season tickets?

But topping my list of things that I just don't understand today: why does fandom continue to be so fucking crazy??? Newsflash fandom: (1) he's really not fucking his male costar anywhere but in our collective fantasies; and (2) the likelihood of him fucking YOU anywhere but in YOUR imagination is even slimmer than #1 actually becoming a reality and there being a sex tape to prove it. So, given #1 and #2 but most especially #2, who he's actually dating is none of your damn business. Continued expressions of dismay and, even more disturbing, hate for him and/or her only go to prove your idiocy and inability to take a firm grasp on reality. My suggestion? Get a damn life! (This rant is courtesy of me apparently seeing one too many "I hate her" or "I'm so mad at him" posts on my flist, with apologies to the non-crazy portion of fandom.)

Ok. Moving on. Despite all the things that boggle my mind today, there are also very good things that fill me with joy. For example, I had a damn good workout with the new trainer this afternoon. He's definitely a keeper. Plus, his rates are super reasonable! After the chaos of the holidays and losing the previous trainer, I'm finally feeling positively about getting back to a regular workout routine! \o/

Also, I have two whole weeks of time blocked out next month!!! I don't know what I'll be doing with all that free time, but I'm really looking forward to it! Any ideas about what to do with two whole weeks of vacation time???

Then why have conventions? Why go on talkshows? Why stand around on red carpets for people to take pictures?

The difference, as I see it, is that all of these things are aimed at increasing exposure to and commercial support for their professional product, be it a t.v. show or a movie or a sport. Who they are or aren't dating has NOTHING to do with their professional output.

And if I'm thinking about the actors personal lives when watching that scene or any other scene, then someone (be it the actors or the writers) is not doing their job correctly because if they are then all I see on screen are Sam and Ruby.

I don't know. I mean Jared has never drawn a line between his real life and professional life before. He kinda set a precedent with Sandy-- making his girlfriend part of his professional life: bringing her to all the red-carpet events with the attendant paparazzi pictures, her showing up as a convention guest a couple of times, she's at those promotional gift bag events, even to guest-starring on his show. To suddenly turn around and call the fans out for not separating his personal and professional lives seems a little bit disingenuous when he's still dating a co-star. She's still a part of his professional life, you know?

But as with Brenda, I think we need to agree to disagree.
