Random mid-week bits.

- Working from home today. Which means working from my couch in my PJs, with a full pot of coffee at hand. This is a very good thing!

- Finding religiously neutral, professionally appropriate holiday cards that still managed to express a bit of individual personality turned out to be a hell of a lot more difficult than I was anticipating. I think I finally managed to find some that will work, though. \o/

- Speaking of my religiously neutral, professionally appropriate holiday cards...if you'd like for me to send you one (and I'd LOVE to do that), drop me an email with your address at jessipsaloquitur at gmail dot com.

- While I'm on the holidays, my niece has declared that all decorations this year shall be candy canes and reindeer. Nothing else, she says. Just candy canes and reindeer. Where does she get these things? *shakes head*

- There are several movies out right now that I want to watch -- "Enchanted," "No Country for Old Men," "Hitman," "Love in the Time of Cholera," "American Gangster." So many movies, so little time. Apparently I'll have to prioritize my movie watching. So, those of you who have seen any of these movies, which should I watch first?

- Reaper is officially my happy place. OMG I love this show! *draws hearts*

Let's go to a late movie and drinks tonight. Yeah? Late late, if you can. That'd be perfect.

CANDY CANES. I approve of the decoration strategy. ;)

We tried to go see Enchanted, and it was sold out, so we saw August Rush instead, which was a wonderful movie! Plus, it had a very, very hot Jonathan Rhys Meyers in it, and wouldn'tcha know, he can sing. Will probably try Enchanted again this weekend.

Movie and drinks sounds good. How late is late? And whatcha want to watch?

She's insistent. Once she has PLAN, there's no changing her mind. So, yes. This year shall be the Year of the Candy Cane! *g*

Any of the above is good, but No Country, Gangster, and Enchanted are topping my list. I loved the book Love in the Time of Cholera but the reviews have been less than stellar.

Timewise, I was thinking a 9 o'clock hour movie and drinks after, but if it's No Country, we'd probably have to either go earlier or drink before. :)

Jonathon Rhys Meyers is very hot, indeed. The movie wasn't too saccharine?

[identity profile] moonmelody.livejournal.com 2007-11-28 09:23 pm (UTC)(link)
I'll move this to email, with some possible movie times.

Either American Gangster or No Country For Old Men. Two of THE best movies I've seen this year.

Clearly, your niece is immune to the shrieking "KEEP CHRIST IN CHRISTMAS" folks.

I dig it :)

I think Allie and I are going to see No Country For Old Men tonight. \o/

She's all about the candy canes. No baby Jesus for this kid. *g*

I'm fairly shallow right now and have limited brain power so I'm gonna vote for Enchanted or Hitman. I would also suggest Beowulf in 3D but only if you have a few drinks first and then can truly appreciate the dizzying movement, unless you have a tendency to get seasick and in that case, never mind. *smishes you*
poisontaster: character Wen Qing from The Untamed (Default)

I saw American Gangster. I liked it a lot, but I was longing for more character development. Still, it's very much worth the looksee.

I REALLY loved Hitman, though. Timothy Olyphant just keeps surprising me in every role he's in, besides being completely gorgeous. I plan to own this movie.

Yay for working in PJ's!

No, it wasn't saccharine...it is, admittedly, a bit of a fairy tale, and sentimental, yes--but I loved it; gorgeous cinematography, great characters, and the music was AWESOME. The child actor, Freddie Highmore, was amazing, and I really did end up loving this movie from beginning to end. I want to go see it again.

This is good the hear. I'll be adding this one to me "To Watch" list!

[identity profile] moonmelody.livejournal.com 2007-11-29 05:41 pm (UTC)(link)
I get really seasick at movies that move too much. The Blair Witch Project nearly killed me!

It turned out that Allie and I couldn't stop talking long enough to actually make it to a movie last night...so we'll try again this weekend!

*hugs you tight*

Working in PJs is the BEST way to work!

[identity profile] mysanal.livejournal.com 2007-11-30 05:58 pm (UTC)(link)
Reaper just makes my week. It's so funny! But also, Sam is such the Universe's Butt Monkey. Poor boy. And Ray Wise is the Best TV Devil EVER!

Other 2 good comedies: Chuck & Pushing Daisies.

[identity profile] moonmelody.livejournal.com 2007-12-01 06:38 am (UTC)(link)
I love Reaper so much!!! I've also watched Chuck a few times and I think it's hooked me. Pushing Daisies, though, not so much.
