Glee: Last night's episode is exactly why I love this show so damn much! This show manages to get these flawed, even unlikeable characters to get it so beautifully, heartbreakingly, messily, perfectly HUMAN and RIGHT sometimes. More Glee talk. )

Chad Michael Murray: CMM is starring in a sure to be cheesy, made for t.v. holiday movie!!! *laughs* My holiday season has been made! )

Opera: I know it will probably horrify [ profile] annkiri, but I've never actually been to the opera. Ack! So uncultured! *facepalm* [ profile] ladymairwen, however, mentioned maybe going to see Arizona Opera's production of Carmen next week and that sounds like a nifty plan to me! Also, apparently they are doing some interesting staging by having some of the audience on the stage in the bull ring and it sounds FASCINATING! ([ profile] annkiri I'd really love to hear your thoughts on this concept!)

DWTS:: I realize that Kurt Warner was not the best dancer, but it really bugs me that Bristol Palin is in the semi-finals and he got voted out last night. Kurt is at least as good as she is, and there were MUCH better dancers who got cut way before their time, while she kept making it through. Damn tea party voters! They couldn't be happy with fucking up mid-term elections, they had to go and ruin my happy dancing show! *rage*

But, in happier DWTS news, producers are apparently considering a same-sex dance couple, with Portia DeGeneres on their list of possible stars! A same-sex dance couple would be AMAZING! And I'd love to see Portia on that show! Yay!!!

Adam: *iz ded* )
Some things about this week, so far:

1. I had an interview yesterday and it went really well. That's all I'm going to say for know because there are still questions and blanks to fill in, and because I don't want to jinx anything. But, you know, fingers crossed and all that. *g*

2. Post-season baseball has been happening. It was not fun to see the Braves eliminated last night, and I don't even have words to express how much Bobby Cox is going to be missed not only to the Braves and their fans but to the world of baseball, but, last night I was reminded of one of the many reasons why I love this sport so damn much when the Giants stopped in the middle of their rightly earned on-field celebrations to tip their caps in respect to Bobby Cox when he came out for a last farewell. I had pretty much held it together until I saw that, and then promptly lost my composure. So much class, so much respect, so much love for this damn game!!!

And while we're on the topic, congratulations to the Texas Rangers for their ALDS win over the Rays!!! Josh, Ian, Michael, I'm counting on you and the rest of your boys to kick some Yankee ass!

3. Ok, no really, no one else is watching The A-List New York??? People! Y'all are missing out on so much fabulosity!!! I did mention the hot, shirtless boys, right? Well, this week we got all that plus added snarkiness, Derek being awesome, gay boy bitch-fights and arm pit sniffs!!! Yeah, that last one probably doesn't seem as ridiculously amusing unless you actually watched. This show is all that is fabulous and entertaining! (I even got my mom hooked on it! *laughs*)

4. Let's talk Dancing With The Stars. Cut for spoilers, in case there's actually anyone else around here who watches this show too. )

5. GLEE!!! ) I cannot say it enough: I LOVED THIS SHOW!!!

I was going to stop at 5, but:

6. 3 of the 33 Chilean miners have been rescued!!!!!!!!!!
Adam Lambert finally announced a date for an L.A. show!!!!! It's about damn time! I've been waiting for this since the start of Glam Nation. It will be December 16th at Club Nokia. Which likely means a GA show, but I'm ok with that. It also means something in the neighborhood of 2,300 maximum capacity, so I'm anticipating tickets to sell out pretty damn fast. Still no word on whether there will be a VIP M&G package sold for this show, but I think the chances are good that there will be. Again, I'm sure it will sell out in a flash. In any case, AN L.A. SHOW!!!! I will SO be there! Who's with me??? *beams*

Speaking of Adam, as we do around here *g*, there was a gorgeous new picture floating around me twitter feed this week: Seriously, Adam, how so damn pretty??? )

AND, sticking to a theme here, he added "Broken Open" to his set in Osaka, Japan today. I love that song, and I haven't heard it live since Fantasy Springs, and Gridlock before that.

Broken Open )
*loves so hard*

Ok, so, there are other things I wanted to talk to y'all about, but then Adam announced his L.A. date and sort of ate my brain. I'd say sorry, but, I'm really not. *g* So, I'll talk about those other things quickly, in a list! Because lists are fun!

> My car is in ICU, or, rather, the shop. I still don't know what the problem is, but I'm keeping my fingers crossed that whatever it is it won't break the damn bank.

> No news on the job search front. :( I'm trying to stay positive, but, truthfully, it's hard. I'm realizing how much of my self-worth is tied up with my work. There are thoughts and feelings there that I need to sit with, unpack, and write about. And, I will at some point. But, yeah, hard.

> I was too wiped out after the AIDS Walk yesterday, so I rescheduled my tattoo appointment to tomorrow. But, tomorrow there shall be new ink! This makes me happy!

> Dave Grohl, you are fabulous!!! Haha! That cracked me up so hard!

> There's been fabulous T.V. to talk about, like Hawaii Five-O and Sons of Anarchy! And there has been sports stuff to talk about, like yesterday's meltdown by the Cardinals, and how well the Texans are looking, and Jeremy Shockey being fabulous, and the Braves making the playoffs, and my Diamondbacks' giving Kurt the job for next year. But I'm going to have to talk about all of that later, because right now I have to go watch me some Monday night football and then Dancing With The Stars! *laughs* Yes, this lineup pretty sums up the wide range of shit that I find entertaining!
1. HAPPY BIRTHDAY, [ profile] editorzon!!! I hope your day was FABULOUS and full of glitter, glam, champagne, and rock and roll! And I hope that the year ahead brings all kinds of love and laughter and success beyond your wildest imagination because no one deserves it more than you, baby! I love you and I'm truly blessed to call you my friend! *mwah*

2. I had two interviews today, and I think they both went pretty well, and hopefully they were all suitably wowed by my brilliance and charm! *g* The first one was especially intriguing to me and I'd love to see that develop into something. I don't want to say too much until I know if it's going to turn into something, but, please to be keeping your fingers crossed and the good-job-gettin' mojo flowing.

3. I'll be scheduling my next tattoo tomorrow and I'm super excited about new ink!!! :D

4. I had a completely random and unexpected, but still really awesome, phone call from the Texas!Boy this weekend. We had a great conversation and I really do hope we can get back to friends, because I do have a good time with him. Plus, it was wonderfully distracting at at time when I really needed a distraction.

5. I finally watched the rest of season 5 of Supernatural, and, I gotta say, the show redeemed itself for me at the end and I was completely satisfied with the way it wrapped the story arc. Back on the Sam & Dean train, I watched last week's episode, hoping for good things. I was underwhelmed. The best I can say is that Jensen and Jared are still very pretty to look at. While I'm never one to underestimate the entertainment value of a pretty face on my screen, hopefully they'll figure out who to make something of season 6 other than "oh, look, Jared and Jensen are still indeed hot."

6. Reese's Pieces are happy-making. :D

7. Lady Gaga announced a San Diego date for the 2011 leg of Monster Ball! March 29th at the Viejas Arena. And, even betterer! Scissor Sisters is supposed to be opening for her next year!!! [ profile] _lisalisa_ and I are looking in to getting tickets, if anyone else is interested in possibly joining us, tickets go on sale October 1st. Lady Gaga! Scissor Sisters! This is going to be fantabulous!

8. Phoenix AIDS Walk this weekend!

9. Dancing with the Stars producers can continue to put Rick Fox in sleeveless shirts all the time! Dear gods that man has beautiful arms. *bites lip*

♦ This weekend I'm off to San Diego for my cousin's wedding. I can always count on this particular branch of the family to throw one hell of a party when they marry off one of their daughters. So while I'm glad she's happy and all (blah, blah, blah) what I'm really looking forward to is (1) the opportunity to break out some fabulous formal wear and (2) the open bar!!! *g*

♦ In 8 days I will embark on my Glamtastic Vacation of Glittery Awesomeness!!! 3 cities, 4 Glam Nation shows, and 8 fantabulous days filled with several of my most bestest friends and as many damn good times as we can pack into a vacation!!! I cannot wait!

♦ I got a new camera for the trip! While I love my camera with the magical zoom lens, it's a bit unwieldy in crowded spaces like concerts. So I got a tiny camera that fits into the palm of my hand! Or my pocket! It's so small and shiny! )

What is the key to wearing black tie well? Go commando underneath. It adds an air of mystery. Oh, Matt Bomer. I do love you so! I also love Neal a lot. And Peter. And Mozzie. I miss Elizabeth though. There needs to be more Smokin' Hot Mrs. Suit in my White Collar. But, overall, this show entertains me immensely! *loves*

♦ Speaking of immensely entertaining: Kurt Warner is going to dance in the upcoming season of Dancing with the Stars!!! *laughs and laughs* Oh, Kurt. Also, apparently you can't put Baby in a corner anymore. *g* I'm kinda looking forward to this show now!

♦ I'm again walking in the AIDS Walk Phoenix on October 3rd. I realize that times are tough out there, but any contribution, no matter the amount, really does make a difference. If it's your will, you can donate to my AIDS Walk efforts here.

Pretty! And sparkly! )

hump day

May. 26th, 2010 05:37 pm
Hello, Wednesday! Why are you not FRIDAY??? *whines*

Seriously, this week could get a move on it now. On Friday I slip this joint and head to L.A. for a LONG WEEKEND OF AWESOMENESS WITH MY GIRLS!!! So, you know, Friday! Any day now would work!

In the meantime though, I gotta say, it's been a damn fine week. Today I escaped the office to join [ profile] mysanal for a lovely lunch of yummy Greek food after which we meandered through the Farmer's Market, chatting and shopping until we had to head back to work. It was LOVELY! Plus, I learned we had a year-round Farmer's Market, right down the road!!! I did not know this, but now that I do, Dee and I have a date every other Wednesday for some Farmer's Market goodness! Yay!

Last night I watched the season finale of Dancing With the Stars. Nicole Scherzinger of the Pussycat Dolls won, which she totally deserved to do because she was FABULOUS. I wasn't particularly invested in this season, except that I didn't want Evan Lysacek win because for some unknown reason he just BUGS me. Anyway, Nicole and Derek won, so YAY! Also, Mark Ballas can pick up Derek and throw him on his shoulders anytime. Just sayin'.

I watched American Idol, mostly because I was waiting for Glee. Boring! Seriously, I cold care less about either Lee or Crystal. The entire hour was a snooze-fest, and the only half-way interesting part of the night was watching in fascination as Crystal tried to make her way down the staircase in heels without falling down. Although, I suppose that she's just marginally less boring and a significantly better singer than Lee. Either way, though, this season was a DUD. But, there's a rumor that Adam might be performing at the finale tonight after all, so I might have to tune in just in case. *g* And even if he doesn't I'd like to see Kris and Xtina. So, that's the t.v. watching plan for tonight.

But last night's Glee made up for AI with extra awesomeness!!! Lady Gaga!!! And Gaga-esque costumes!!! And another Lea and Idina duet (I never knew Poker Face could be so heart wrenching!) And Kurt being fabulous!!! And Kurt's dad being AH-MAY-ZING!!! Seriously, it seems that whenever those two have a scene together I end up a blubbering mess! And Finn going from asshole to ass-kicking! And, just, SHOW!!! *loves and loves*

Ok, I'm going to go get a few more things crossed off my To Do List, then I'm calling it a day. Hope everyone had a good Hump Day! Um, can it be Friday now? *g*
So, yeah, the week has been fairly craptastic. And now it seems as if I managed to catch the latest round of crud, so I'm feeling all sniffly and feverish. But, regardless, I'm determined to be in a better mood, dammit! So, this is me, doing my best to sparkle harder. *g*

Of course, that means a Happy List! \o/

- I've got some truly fabulous, sparkly, purple nail polish on today and just looking at it makes me happier. *stares at sparkly nails*

- My client this morning was so happy and grateful for the work I did on his case. It's pretty freakin' awesome when the work you do really does make a difference in people's lives! Plus he and his partner were simply adorable and I just wanted to keep them in my pocket! ♥

- Apparently Chad Ochocinco will be competing on Dancing with the Stars this season! This just cracks my shit up! *laughs and laughs* Also, Chad is no Jason Taylor. I'm just sayin'.

- In a glee-inducing confluence of fannish obsessions: Adam Lambert is in Australia this week and scheduled to perform at Sydney's Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras sometime today (tomorrow? -- not sure exactly). And, word on the street is that George Michael will also be there and that the two will meet!!!!!! Eeeee!!! This makes my little fannish heart go all pitter-patter! There had better be pictures of this awesomeness!

- AND!!! And this is the sparkliest of all! Adam's bonus track, "Voodoo," which is available on the international release of For Your Entertainment, hit the web last night and it's FABULOUS!!! Check it out:

Oh, man, I cannot wait to hear that live! (Also, if anyone hasn't found a download link and you want it, hit me up with your email and I'll send it to you.)

ETA: Voodoo lyrics )
1. I have a job interview tomorrow at noon for that judicial clerkship I've going on about lately. I really want this job. I cannot stress that enough. Really. Want. This. Job. So, if you could spare a good thought or two, or, you know, how ever many you might have available, I would certainly appreciate any positive job mojo you could direct this way. *takes a deep breath and soaks up the good job mojo*

2. Tomorrow, after said job interview, I think I'm taking Rianna to a spring training game. She's on spring break and when I asked her what she wanted to do on her Hanging Out with Tía Gigi Day, she picked baseball from her several options. That's my girl! *g*

3. We were just talking about Merlin on NBC this weekend, and it looks as if there has finally been a date set for that happy occurrence. On June 21st there will finally be Arthurian goodness on my television!!! *bounces*

4. I finally watched last week's Supernatural and got caught up with Legend of the Seeker. While my enjoyment of Supernatural remains unchanged, my fannishness seems to have inexplicably waned, such that I don't really feel compelled to talk about the show. *shrugs* Yeah, I really don't know either. Legend of the Seeker, though, continues to be fluffy fun times. Although I was a bit sad that Richard did not take off his shirt in this last episode. What is this craziness??? I prefer my Seeker shirtless, please!

5. Still unwatched and waiting patiently on my DVR are the last three episodes of Battlestar Galactica, last week's Friday Night Lights, and the premier of Kings (which I'm hearing SO many good things about and I can't wait to watch!). But, unless I can manage some unheard of productivity between now and Thursday, these shows will probably remain unwatched until I get back next week.

6. I leave for California on Friday, for at least 5 days and possibly up to 9 days of FUN TIMES! There's a whole long weekend full of various shenanigans planned with the Texas Boy. And then I'll have some time to spend with my girls, which will be awesome, not only because THEY are awesome, but because it has been a long time since I've seen some of them! I'm leaving my return trip unplanned for now, in hopes that I'll know more about the job situation by then and will feel better about staying the whole week. But YAY!!! California here I come! *beams*

7. I'm watching Dancing with the Stars tonight as I get some work done and finalize my writing sample. So far my observations include only the fact that Dmitry has adorable dimples and a very sexy backside. He's hot coming and going!
Ok. Quiz time. What's HOTTER than Jason Taylor in a wife-beater? In reality, very little. Except maybe Jason Taylor in a wife-beater that is then RIPPED OFF OF HIM!!! GODDAMN *bites lip*

Also, his song choice is HILARIOUS!!! *laughs and laughs*
There was quite a bit of talk on tonight's Dancing with the Stars about the "sweet friendship" Jason Taylor has developed with fellow competitor Cristian de la Fuente. Jason calls Cristian his "boy." I am quite sure that Jeremy is not amused.

But Jeremy has to appreciate how SMOKIN' HOT Jason looks in that suit! DAMN. )
Just watched this week's Dancing with the Stars. And, sure enough, Jason Taylor is still smokin' hot.

I'm completely baffled, though, about what in the hell possessed his professional dance partner to make him get a spray on tan!!! I kid you not. Jason Taylor. One of the most gorgeous black men on the planet. In a tanning booth. *boggles*

But, the upside to this craziness, is that we get him shirtless! And HOT. Did I mention that he's HOT??

Your Weekly Jason Taylor HOTNESS )
I'm still pretty much feeling like ass, but I'm bored with my own misery so instead of continued bitching and moaning, I bring you Monday's AWESOMENESS:

1| Equal Parts Hot Cinnamon Tea + Equal Parts Tequila + Lime Juice to Taste = BEST COLD REMEDY EVAR!!! This was my grandfather's cure all, and it's pretty much been my saving grace the past three days. I'm not sure whether it works miracles or, you know, just makes you pass out after a while, but either way it works for me!

2| Jason Taylor continues to be HOT LIKE THE FIRE OF A MILLION SUNS!!! )

3| Jared looks HOT in a tank top too! )

4| NIN in New Orleans in October headlining the Voodoo Music Experience!!! I am SO there!!!
It was brought to my attention last week that I failed to adequately highlight the HOTNESS that is Jason in a wife-beater. So as to not be remiss again, let me say upfront that the rehearsal footage features JASON IN A WIFE-BEATER LOOKING HOTTER THAN THE SUN!!! *bites lip* Also, Jason seems very happy in his pants while dancing the cha-cha-cha this week. *g*

Also, Jason Taylor in a Cowboy's uniform. )
That's how my dance instructor always described the rumba, and that's certainly true when Jason Taylor dances it.

Damn. Just DAMN. *melts*
Jason Taylor danced the Viennese Waltz this week on Dancing With The Stars and it should not come as a surprise to anyone that it was SCORCHING HOT! Seriously, BURNING. The Viennese Waltz is supposed to be all romance and grace, and this is, but they also managed to make it sexy as hell.

And, BONUS, Jason in medieval garb! This show really, really loves me! *g*
I'm sure it comes as no surprise that, despite being dead tired from a weekend of non-stop Good Times, and wanting desperately to go to bed the moment I got home, I instead stayed up to watch Dancing with the Stars. Jason was once again made of HOT and AWESOME. He danced the jive, and while the judges didn't score him as high as last week, I thought he was great. You can decide for yourself:

One thing that is indisputable though is that those pants really love his ass! Also, SUSPENDERS!!! So. Fucking. Hot. And he's adorable doing the lip syncing at the beginning of the number. In conclusion, I love him and want to climb him like a tree. *g*

While were on the topic of hot football players jiving, Matt Leinart has apparently doing some *ahem* jiving of his own recently. And there are pictures to prove it. )

The local media and sports commentators have been absolutely BRUTAL toward Matt about these pictures: he's a role model and should not be behaving himself like this, he doesn't deserve the starting QB position because he's irresponsible and parties too much, he obviously doesn't even WANT it if this is the way he's acting, BLAH, BLAH, BLAH. Here's the thing, though: it's the off season, it's not as if he's shirking his professional responsibilities; this was a party in his own home; and he's doing absolutely nothing illegal in those pictures. So, really, what's the big fucking deal??? These oh so scandalous pictures have demonstrated that (a) Matt is HOT; (b) Matt is male; (c) Matt likes beer; and (d) Matt likes young hot chicks - lots of them. Why the outrage??? Didn't we know all of this before?

Mar. 24th, 2008 08:42 pm
Jason Taylor shakes his thang with the mambo in this week's Dancing with the Stars:

Can we all just take a moment to appreciate how fantastic his ass looks in those black pants? Damn. Just DAMN.

Also, it would be remiss of me if I failed to mention that Edyta looks smokin'. Dear gods, that woman's body is incredible.
At least according to Jason Taylor on tonight's season premier of Dancing with the Stars. Jason is such a HOTASS -- even in a sparkly shirt! And I'm pretty sure that Jeremy gave him the pink tutu!!! *laughs and laughs*

And OMG he can FOXTROT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He did so well! And looked so damn HOT doing it!

Jason Taylor ballroom dancing is SO going to be my HAPPY PLACE for a very long time!!!
Happy St. Patrick's Day!!!

May you have love that never ends,
lots of money, and lots of friends.
Health be yours, whatever you do,
and may God send many blessings to you!

I got my Irish on early with a Flogging Molly show last night. But before I mention how FANTASTIC the show was, let me say, for the record, that [ profile] technosage has lost any and all cool points that she may have once possessed. The plan was to meet for dinner on Mill and then head across the river to see the show. The first part went as planned. The second part? Not so much. Y'all must join me in endlessly mocking Allie for completely wussing out at the last minute, at the very door to the venue, with her ticket in hand... but instead of going in and rocking out to the great music, she decided to GO HOME AND SLEEP!!! *headshake* Yeah. I don't even know what to say about that.

So, anyway. I was not deterred. I went to the show without her and I had a great time!!! They rocked the shit out it for almost 3 hours! They played a bunch of their older stuff, plus several songs off the new CD. The crowd was amazing. Everyone was just in that happy, St. Patrick's day mood, so it was more like a big party than a concert. The place was full of hot guys in kilts or shirtless or both with an awesome array of tattoos on display! In all, it was a BLAST!

Thankfully I didn't have court this morning, so I was able to sleep in. I did, however, meet up with a new trainer who I really liked. His name is Joe and he's a writer/actor/trainer. I guess if I can't find a stripper/porn star/trainer, at least I found someone who has a sufficiently interesting combination of professions that we have a lot to talk about during out work outs! Plus, he's young and hot so there's plenty of eye candy too. What? These things are important. A trainer is probably the most serious relationship that I'm willing to commit to right now, so it's important that we click. And we did. So I'm really looking forward to getting back on a regular training schedule.

In other important news: Tonight is Jason Taylor's dancing debut with "Dancing With the Stars"!!! *bounces*
OMG I can't seem to focus on anything for more than 5 minutes! Plus, it's GORGEOUS outside and I really don't want to be in my window-less office. *is distracted* This does not bode well for my productivity this afternoon. Also, it means that this post is going to be all over the place, just like my brain!

* * *

I'm amused. And by "amused" I mean just a shade this side of annoyed and kind of embarrassed for others. So, there was a recent blog post over at Christian Kane's MySpace announcing all kinds of happenings including the fact that the music is now going to be marketed under Christian's full name rather than "Kane." No one's really surprised, right? The amusing part is, again in the "no surprise" category, the reactions being posted to that announcement. Seriously, people, I'm sure no one gives a damn if you think the name change is a bad idea. Also, I'm quite certain that Steve is a big boy and quite able to look out for his own interests without your help. And that anyone would have the audacity to actually say any of those things on a musician's site is, well, amusing in that "OMG I'm so embarrassed for you," kind of way -- kind of like when you see some chick walk out of the bathroom with her skirt caught up in her pantyhose and you wonder if you should say something or just let her walk away with her, ahem, issues showing. So, yeah: hey fandom, pull your skirt out. Your entitlement issues are showing.

* * *

Jason Taylor admits to always wanting to learn to tango...because he thought it was sexy! Hee!!! I'm probably gonna make y'all crazy with my growing squeefulness over Jason's dancing debut next week. But, seriously, I'm so excited!!! Is it March 17th yet???

(Also, I need a Jason Taylor icon.)

* * *

I am so very annoyed with a certain prosecutor today. We had two telephonic interviews scheduled, which is the main reason I'm sitting in the office rather than outside enjoying this beautiful day. But she apparently didn't think these were that important because she blew them off without so much as a phone call or email to let me know she couldn't do them. I am NOT pleased. *scowls*

* * *

I have a coupon for a free lunch at Zoës Kitchen. Since I apparently don't have interviews after all, I think I shall go get lunch. Plus, there is something inherently happy-making about a free lunch!
